Hey there! It’s Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com and I’m happy to be here to share my take on Kerry Engel’s fun June Sketch using some of the new Botanical Burst Collection from Creative Memories. This pretty mix-and match collection offers four paper packs and four embellishment packs in Blue, Pinks, Greens and Yellows, so there’s bound to be a match for almost any photos that you’re scrapping! When I saw Kerry’s sketch, I loved the look of the large half circle in the background with photos off to the side.  I used my Jumbo Circle with the Blue Blade from the Custom Cutting System to cut a large circle from the green leaf patterned paper from the Botanical Burst Green Paper Pack. (*You could also use the new Circle Cutter which cuts and draws circles from 3” to 11.75”. This new tool was so hot that it is out of stock right now, but it will be available in September, and you can even be notified when it is back in stock by adding your email to the notification list here!) After I cut out the circle, I trimmed it in half by placing the edge of the circle firmly against the top edge on either side of the cutting line on the paper trimmer. The distance between these points is equal on both sides, making it so easy to cut any size circle in half without the need for measuring! REMINDER: Make sure to save the other half circle for another layout or use it to adapt the sketch and make a two-page spread! I used Light Grey Cardstock as the base for my layout but wanted to add some interest so I mixed ink from the Splash and Summer Sun Dot-Tip Pens with a tiny spritz of water to create various shades of green ink, and splattered it onto the cardstock with a small paintbrush to create a bit of texture. This is one of my favorite easy ways to customize a layout! After letting my splattered paint background dry for just a few minutes, I mounted the semi-circle along the left-hand edge of the base page as shown in Kerry’s sketch and then added a skinny strip of multi-striped paper to ground the edge. I used four 4” x 4” photos instead of the six shown in the sketch, trimming them slightly and matting them on another green patterned paper before arranging and adhering on top of the semi-circle. I added small additional strips of the same striped paper to frame the photos, and flowers and leaves from both the Green and Blue Petals and Leaves Foiled Embellishment Packs around the edges of the circle to embellish the page. Finally I added the “Just Because” and “Moments” titles from the Must Have Laser Title Embellishments Pack 2, popping them up and off the surface of the layout with Foam Squares. TIP: When placing Foam Squares onto small areas, cut them into slivers with All-Purpose Scissors while they are still on the backing paper! I finished the layout by journaling with the Brown Dual-Tip Pen and adding a sprinkle of the self-adhesive gems from the embellishment packs. Here are a few close-ups of some of the details:

I love how the soft greens and blues highlight the photos of the blossoms on our lovely tree without overwhelming them! Botanical Burst is simply stunning and I’m sure you’ll find just the right colors and embellishments to highlight your photos!
