Hey there! It’s Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com to share a fun and not-too-scary Halloween layout using the new Happy Hauntings Collection and Spider Webs Frame Punch from Creative Memories! Halloween is definitely one of my favorite things about Fall, and the Halloween scrapbook product collections get me every single time! The new Happy Hauntings collection – released just a few days ago – is very sophisticated and moody and I couldn’t wait to play with it! I am hoping to use the finished layouts for some photos I’ll be taking this coming Halloween.
Here are the easy steps to make this layout:
Line up the edge of the orange Halloween icons paper from the Happy Hauntings Paper Pack with the silver line on the base plate of the Spider Webs Frame Punch. Punch, then move the punched shape until it lines up with the picture printed on the base plate. Repeat for a total of four punches/four webs. Take out the paper, turn it and place the little “tab” created by the first row of punching on the silver line on the opposite side of the base plate. Punch again four times. Trim off the excess on each punched side with the 12” Trimmer to make a smooth edge. Remove the Straight Blade from the blade housing on the 12” Trimmer and insert the Scoring Blade. Angle the paper and score diagonally from the end of the last spider web on one edge of the paper to the end of the last spider web on the other edge of the paper. Fold and crease with the Multi-Purpose Tool to show the purple and black bursts design on the opposite side, and adhere folded paper to center of a piece of Black Shimmer Cardstock with Tape Runner Adhesive to form the base of the layout.
Next let’s make the small spider web embellishments. Cut six 2” squares from the gray abstract webs paper. Use a small sticky note as a handle and insert the 2” square into the Spider Webs border punch. Turn the punch upside down to center the 2” square in the punch. Punch and remove the half-web. Remove the sticky note and adhere to the opposite side. Re-insert the square and punch again to create a complete web. Repeat with the rest of the 2” squares to have six webs in total. Flip three of the webs over to show the black and purple bats pattern on the opposite side. Use Repositionable Adhesive on the web embellishments and on the gray corner web from the Happy Hauntings Laser Cut Embellishment Pack and attach them to the layout.
Cut two 4” x 6” photo mats from the same gray abstract webs paper and mount two 3.75” x 5.75” photos (or White Cardstock photo placeholders like I did) on the mats and adhere on the layout as shown.
Finish off the layout by adding embellishments and stickers with Foam Squares on top of or around each of the punched web embellishments.
Here are a couple of the details from the layout…
I hope you get a chance to play with the Happy Hauntings collection and get yourself in the mood for a Happy Halloween!
