Materials Needed

Step-by-Step Instructions

Art Impressions Front Porch Series - Creative Scrapbooker Magazine -1Step 1: Stamp the Images

  1. Stamping: Begin by stamping the images from the main Art Impressions Front Porch stamp set and the Art Impressions Front Porch Garden stamp set onto white Prism Studio cardstock using black Ranger Archival Ink. Ensure all images are clear and well-defined.

Art Impressions Front Porch Series - Creative Scrapbooker Magazine -2Step 2: Color the Images

  1. Coloring: Use Prism Studio Colored Pencils to color the stamped images. Apply shading and highlights by varying the pressure on the pencils. For example, press harder for darker areas and softer for lighter sections. Leave the door area mostly white, adding grey shading around the lines for depth.

Art Impressions Front Porch Series - Creative Scrapbooker Magazine -3Step 3: Die Cut the Images

  1. Die Cutting: Use the coordinating Art Impressions dies to cut out all the colored images. Stamp the main door image onto the Elizabeth Craft Designs wood-grain patterned paper and carefully fussy cut it using OLFA scissors. For intricate details like the door knob area, use an OLFA craft knife for precision.

Art Impressions Front Porch Series - Creative Scrapbooker Magazine -4Step 4: Create the Easel Base

  1. Scoring the Cardstock: To create the easel card base, take an 11” x 4.25” piece of white Prism Studio cardstock and score it at 2.75” and 5.5”. Use a bone folder to crease these folds sharply. This will form the easel mechanism of your card.
  2. Cutting the Wood-Grain Panel: Using the largest rectangle Prism Studio stitched nesting die, cut a panel from the Elizabeth Craft Designs wood-grain patterned paper. This will be the background for your card.
  3. Adhering the Panel: Attach the wood-grain panel to a 4.25” x 5.5” piece of white cardstock. Adhere this combined piece to the bottom fold of the card base, ensuring it aligns properly when the easel mechanism is activated.

Step 5: Assemble the Card

  1. Assembling: Start arranging your stamped and colored images on the wood-grain panel. Use adhesive to secure each piece in place. Create a pleasing composition with the door as the central focal point, surrounded by the garden elements.

Final Touches

  • Add Dimension: To enhance the 3D effect, consider using foam adhesive squares on some elements.
  • Sentiment: Add a sentiment of your choice to the bottom part of the easel, such as “Have a Blessed Day,” as shown in the image. This will help prop the easel card open when displayed
