Hello everyone Connie Nichol here! I was fortunate enough to travel to the Big Island of Hawaii last fall for my 25th wedding anniversary.Β This was the first time I have ever been to Hawaii, and I was simply blown away.Β It was absolutely stunning, about how I would picture paradise.Β Needless to say, I took a lot of pictures while I was there.Β Luckily for me, Kaisercraft released the Paradiso Collection shortly after I returned from the Big Island.Β ThisΒ line is simply perfect for scrapping my vacation pictures.Β One of things I really love about Kaisercraft collections is that they usually have a package of die cuts to go with the papers.Β These die cuts are fantastic β there are so many in the package and they are just the perfect thing to embellish layouts, make cards and just generally have fun with. To scrapbook this picture of…
As I sit here and prepare this weekβs WHERE YOU CREATE blog post it feels so fall like. The temperatures in Edmonton have dipped to single digitsβ¦Brrrrrrr! I am hopefully when this goes live the temperatures will have crept up to be more seasonal; and this will be a βweather blipβ in our past. I am confident we have lots of potential for nicer, autumn days!Β BUT! …if the weather is still cool; a visit into Jodiβs craft room will change your mood! Her colourful space will bring back good memories of summer with her gorgeous blues and green! Β Β I have loved reading and seeing the different scrappy rooms on your blog. Β Since I just completed my own scrap room a couple of months ago, thought I’d submit some pictures to you.Β I have a small spare bedroom; 8β x9β, so needed to be able to utilize the space…
Eeek!!! I have always wanted to join the world of DIY electronic cutters but have been a little intimidated by what I feared was a steep learning curve. Although reasonably computer savvy, I am a busy working mom who lacks any skill at putting machines together and doesnβt have a lot of time for fiddling with details or learning complicated software. Well, I have jumped into the electronic die cutting water with a Sizzix Eclips 2 and I will write a series of blog posts describing my adventures right from getting it out of the box to cutting simple shapes, importing cut files and maybe even create and modify my own designs. Weβll see how it goes. It looks sleek and powerful and sounds like an awesome machine. The Eclips 2 has an enhanced motor with industrial strength gears for speed, precision cutting and reduced noise. It will cut all…

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a quick idea with you today to pretty up your gift giving ideas, especially since there are 85 days left till Christmas! Supplies used: Β Paper MΓ’chΓ© mini hat box (Michael’s); Die Cuts With a View burlap paper; Tim Holtz vintage button; Maya Road trinket pins; Β Sookwang double sided tape; scraps of felt and ribbon, hot glue gun. To create the burlap flower, I traced around a small cup and cut 4 circles out of the DCWV burlap paper. Β I then folded each circle in half and then quarters and attached them to a circle cut from the double sided tape, with their points meeting in the middle. Β Using a strong wet adhesive, I attached a vintage button to the centre and ruffled the edges of the petals to distress them a bit. The felt flowers are very simple as well: Β Cut a strip of…

Happy Friday! This weekend officially marks the last weekend of summer! How will you spend it? I will be packing up and ending our holidays in Nova Scotia. Hopefully my camera will be full of pictures; memories of time spent with family and the gorgeous scenery that surrounded us. It should give me lots of scrapbooking inspiration!Β Today Jenn Aguilar is giving us a peek into her creative space. I love her explanation of what her creative space means to her!Β Β Every scrapbooking woman needs a place to create. It has to be a place that is her own and can hold all of her collections.Β It is part gallery, part warehouse and part workstation. My room is a place where I can enjoy all my previous projects, share my creativity with friends and do projects with my kids.Β This room is more than a hobby space; itβs my…

Today we welcome Adel Otto as our guest blogger who designs wonderful scrapbooks with pocket pages. I’m probably a Canadian memory keeper just like you: a dark roast coffee drinker, Netflix voyeur , a teacher, a wife, and a mother to four teenagers. My memory keeping style is “pretty storyteller”, so I like to capture adventures, transformations and celebrations in a lovely, bright and layered way. I can be found sharing on InstagramΒ aottocafe and at my blog “Studio Latte.” Are you head over heels over pocket pages? Maybe you can’t believe you are finally recording your stories again because of Project Life or you love the Simple Stories Snap albums or Studio Calico Handbook. I had a mad crush on pocket pages for two years before I started adding 12×12’s back into my albums. Even though pocket page spreads provide a lot of options for memory keeping, I often…
