Hello everyone Connie Nichol here! I was fortunate enough to travel to the Big Island of Hawaii last fall for my 25th wedding anniversary. This was the first time I have ever been to Hawaii, and I was simply blown away. It was absolutely stunning, about how I would picture paradise. Needless to say, I took a lot of pictures while I was there. Luckily for me, Kaisercraft released the Paradiso Collection shortly after I returned from the Big Island. This line is simply perfect for scrapping my vacation pictures. One of things I really love about Kaisercraft collections is that they usually have a package of die cuts to go with the papers. As I sit here and prepare this week’s WHERE YOU CREATE blog post it feels so fall like. The temperatures in Edmonton have dipped to single digits…Brrrrrrr! I am hopefully when this goes live the temperatures will have crept up to be more seasonal; and this will be a “weather blip” in our past. Eeek!!! I have always wanted to join the world of DIY electronic cutters but have been a little intimidated by what I feared was a steep learning curve. Although reasonably computer savvy, I am a busy working mom who lacks any skill at putting machines together and doesn’t have a lot of time for fiddling with details or learning complicated software. Well, I have jumped into the electronic die cutting water with a Sizzix Eclips 2 and I will write a series of blog posts describing my adventures right from getting it out of the box to cutting simple shapes, importing cut files and maybe even create and modify my own designs. We’ll see how it goes. It looks sleek and powerful and sounds like an awesome machine. Hello everyone! I wanted to share a quick idea with you today to pretty up your gift giving ideas, especially since there are 85 days left till Christmas! Supplies used: Paper Mâché mini hat box (Michael’s); Die Cuts With a View burlap paper; Tim Holtz vintage button; Maya Road trinket pins; Sookwang double sided tape; scraps of felt and ribbon, hot glue gun. To create the burlap flower, I traced around a small cup and cut 4 circles out of the DCWV burlap paper. I then folded each circle in half and then quarters and attached them to a circle cut from the double sided tape, with their points meeting in the middle. Using a strong wet adhesive, I attached a vintage button to the centre and ruffled the edges of the petals to distress them a bit. The felt flowers are very simple as well: Cut a strip of…

Happy Friday! This weekend officially marks the last weekend of summer! How will you spend it? I will be packing up and ending our holidays in Nova Scotia.
