In a blink…it’s Friday again! I seriously feel like I just sat down to share last week’s WHERE YOU CREATE! Guess that’s what happens when we fill our bellies with turkey and “fixins” before starting a short work week! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, the weather here in Alberta was spectacular – hope yours wasΒ as well!Β Autumn in Canada is a wonderful thing! This week’s creative space is shared by Sherry Roth…enjoy the picture tour! Iβve been admiring all the craft areas that youβve been sharing on Where You Create and would love to share my craft room/studio.Β I teach classes so my area is a combined craft room/studio. Β Β The back wall of the room is my crafting area.Β I have it divided into two working areas (a creative station and a computer station) with lots of storage. Β Β Β Β The big pantry cupboard holds my albums and…
Pull out your Sizzix Eclips2 There are thousands of different free fonts that are available on the internet and they can be easily installed and cut with the Sizzix Eclips2 using the free Ecal Lite software that comes with the machine. I can see that I will soon need to upgrade the βliteβ software so that I can cut svg files, but that will be the topic of future blog posts. Today I am focused on installing, resizing and welding a font to make a title for a scrapbook page. This blog post isnβt meant to be a comprehensive step by step tutorial but will give you an idea of what is involved. I found it easy and wanted to share my first attempt. Iβm sure, like anything else, it will improve with time and practice. If youβre interested, there are some excellent videos on the internet that will guide…

Happy Tuesday everyone! Kim here to share a heartfelt layout with you today! It has been ten months since our dear Java left us for βpuppy fields in the skyβ and I still am surprised to come home and not be greeted by her, 14 years of unconditional love forms routines! My process for this page came together easily, I think because the subject is so dear to my heart. I had saved some of the thoughtful cards sent to us when we had to put Java down. I think originally I couldnβt throw them out because it made her passing so final and I was genuinely surprised that people had sent them, after all to some she was βjust a dogβ. When I came across the Graphic 45 paper collection βRaining Cats & Dogsβ, I knew it was time to pull the cards out to save forever! This paper…
Today we welcome Sylvie Hoobanoff as our guest blogger, who will share some fabulous graduation layouts she has completed for her daughter. Hi there! My name is Sylvie Hoobanoff and Iβm very happy to share a project Iβve been working on with you today. I live in beautiful Canal Flats, BC with my husband of 25 years. This fall we became empty nesters when our 18 year old daughter, Julia, went away to college and our 17 year old son, Nick, went away to play Junior B hockey. Now that my car pooling days are over, I am hoping to find more time for my passion of paper crafting and scrapbooking. My daughter graduated high school in June 2014. After the two day event, I had over 100 photos to scrapbook! There were professional photos, personal photos that I took and even some I borrowed from my daughterβs friends from…
Guess what day it is? FRIDAY! That means itβs all about WHERE YOU CREATE! I have been blessed with lots of travel over the past six months, which means lots of pictures to sort through, to share and of course to scrapbook! I have a confessionβ¦although I LOVED every minute of each trip we tookβ¦I am ready to plop this Canadian bum down for a while and get back into a routine! I need to reorganize my life and scrapbook room! Spare time will find me going through all the WHERE YOU CREATE blog posts to get ideas from our wonderful submissions! Keep them coming! Todayβs creative space comes from Susan Mehlen! This is my “creative space”. I’m always reorganizing as I add supplies to my collection. My husband shares this basement room with me. He calls it his office; I call it my Scrapbook room! I also have a…
Hi all! It’s Cathy Caines here to share some fun Halloween projects featuring Stampin’ Up! The ghosts and goblins have been out to play in my backyard since September began. I love to create for Halloween!!Β Β It could be that I get giddy at the thought of candy or that I have an excuse to search Pinterest for cool costume ideas. Regardless, if you have Halloween on your mind, here areΒ some fun ideas using Stampinβ Up! products. First, you need a banner β this banner was created using the Chalkboard Banner Simply Created Kit. I used white Staz-On and stencils to create the word βBOOβ, as well as rubbed it around the edges. This gave it a more spooky feel but chalk would also do the trick. My daughter would say that treats are the most important thing and most definitely the priority. I couldnβt agree more. I created this…
