Hi everyone! Kim here with a quick share of a mini album I just completed. I used a Close To My Heart “Workshop on the Go”. These kits they put together are genius! Patterned paper, cardstock, stamp set, embellishments and an idea sheet…ready for you to play! I choose to work with “La Vie en Rose” set…I love it! Thanks for checking out my album. This project is not hard technically, but requires time. In the end, it’s a nice reminder of a fun girls trip to Washington State. I have LOTS more pictures to scrapbook from this trip, but this mini album is like the “Coles Notes” version of our trip. We have almost reached the Ides of March! This weekend the clocks β€œspring ahead”. Needless to say I am getting just a little giddy with the thought of Spring around the corner. Here in Edmonton, Alberta it really feels as if it is already here, I know everyone is not so lucky. Hang tight…we’re almost through to next season. YOU can do this! This week we are really excited to be sharing Tracy McLennon’s scrapbooking space. You may recognize her name from our website and social media shares. We are thrilled to have Tracy on board as a guest designer, her posts are always well received with many of your β€œlikes” and β€œhearts”. As you will see in a couple of Tracy’s pictures below…she has LOTS of ribbon! May Arts Ribbon is another lucky company to have her as a design team member, as is Tombow USA; Tracy was recently…

Guess what? It’s the last Friday of February! Spring is just around the corner, I can smell it! Are you getting more light shining in your craft rooms…I am [*insert singing*]! Today we are heading to British Columbia to step into a wonderful craft room…here we go! My name is Deb Clark. I live on an acreage west of Victoria, B.C., near the community of Sooke. I started scrapbooking about 12 years ago, and have been making cards for the last 5 years. I have also started playing with a few mixed media projects. My craft room is in one of our main floor bedrooms. This is the view when you walk in the door. This is an old wooden, kitchen table that has a 4 foot by 6.5 foot piece of ash veneer wood on top. It extends over top of the two white cabinets below. It is…

Hello again! It’s Kim here with my take on the February Sketch designed by Kelly Klapstein. I was inspired to rotate the sketch as shown and from there just started to play until I felt I was done! I love how it turned out, though my husband doesn’t see any similarity to the sketch…LOL! The papers and embellishments are from Bo Bunny’s Believe collection. I was hesitant at first to get this collection of papers, as I wasn’t sure if the theme would work for my style of scrapbooking. Β Once I opened up the papers, stickers and die cuts I was pleased to find LOTS that I was comfortable working with…I love the colours and whimsy so much. The products that don’t β€œwork” for me will easily be altered and adapted for my needs.Β So many inspirational sayings and thoughts, I can’t wait to play with this paper collection again. I…

Hello everyone, it’s Kim Gowdy here today! This is kind of a “sequel” to my last post where I coloured on Core’dinations Glitter Cardstock. This time I want to share a similar idea but with a REALLY cool new product…Core’dinations Glitter Prints. This card was made by downloading a colouring design from the Chameleon Pens website. You have to sign up for their newsletter to access the downloads…it so worth it because you get lots of tutorials and eye candy! It was printed on the Glitter Prints and coloured using my Chameleon Pens. Though hard to see in this image…it shimmers and shines! The paper played beautifully with my inkjet printer and dried super fast! So…you saw a simple image printed beautifully, that alone is exciting but check out this layout I created. All the pictures were printed out on the Glitter Prints paper as well! So FUN! I was…

Happy Friday! February is well under way which gets us closer to March…brighter days and a sense that spring is on its way! I am feeling the need for warmth and vitamin D! Hope everyone is weathering their winter well; let’s raise our glass to our friends in the Maritimes who are once again getting so much snow! You guys are working out your shovels way too often! Today’s β€œWhere You Create” takes us to Bree Tetz’s home where she shares her bright small space! I recently redesigned my studio. I chose cupboards that would let me see all my goodies and maximize my small space.Β  I have a cupboard for scrapbooking and mixed media, and another for my jewellery making. I added a small cube for my silhouette and die cutting machine. The large desk in front of the windows finishes it off perfectly. Bree! Thanks so much for…

Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Kim Gowdy here with a simple but fun idea, that we have visited before. I often like to find ways to bring trends into the stash I already have if possible. There is no denying that adult colouring is a huge trend! Here is my twist from my own scrapbook stash. I made these cards by stamping images from my Impression Obsession stamps onto Core’dinationsΒ Glitter Paper. Use a multi-surface ink like ClearsnapΒ ColorBox Chalk Inks, I used Charcoal. Let it dry…it WILL take longer than on regular paper…be patient. Once it’s dry I grabbed my Chameleon Pens and coloured away…it was so fun! The alcohol inks flowed beautifully on the glitter paper and dried very quickly. Here is a third quick card I made while I had the glitter cardstock out. I took the arrows from this Stampin’ Up/Sizzix die set and cut them out of the…

Welcome Friday! Three more sleeps and we can officially say we have made it through January…another month of winter under our belts! We have been enjoying an unseasonably warm week here in Alberta, I know it creates a false sense of spring…but I LOVE it regardless! Hope you have been enjoying all the Taste of CHA posts. We can hardly control our excitement at the thought of someone winning such a HUGE prize – over $1000.00 in brand new products. Make sure you get your entries in EVERY DAY! This week we are sharing some pictures of Karen Giordano’s scrapbooking space. Her space is jam-packed full of scrapbooking fun! Wait until you see how organized it is! Here we go! Hi Kim, My husband, with help from my son, created this amazing space for me! Β I am so blessed and love all the “custom features”. Β They did all this…

Hi ALL! Kim Gowdy here with a quick card share! Trying to get my head out of winter; so I’ve had fun creating a card, using this leaf stamp and sentiment stamp from Magenta. The card kind of reminds me of a tropical destination [NOT on my calendar] and warms my winter heart. All of the colour applied to the card was done with Sakura’s CRAY-PAS oil pastels and some yellow was added to the background with Sakura’s Koi watercolor brush pens. The oil pastels were quite fun to play with. They layer and blend so smoothly. I added a few colours and used a piece of paper towel on my finger to blend and kept layering until I was happy…SO EASY. The colors are soft yet vibrant…I look forward to more creative time with them. Have a CREATIVE day!

Hello! Kim here with a layout I worked on after Christmas. I used our January Sketchy Challenge, designed by Kelly Klapstein. It was a great jumping point to get back in the groove after a creative hiatus over the holidays. For my projects I used the Bo Bunny β€œWhiteout” Collection along with elements from the co-ordinating Ephemera pack available with the collection. It was all part of a monthly kit I purchase from Scrap Shotz out of Calgary. I laughed when I saw Kelly’s layout…she used the same collection! I promise this was by coincidence [great minds think alike…] Here is a quick detail shot of some of the yumminess found in this collection…a little glitter for winter layouts is perfect! The word stickers are older Tim Holtz idea-ology stickers that never go out of style. For my journalling I used a Micron Pigment Marker by Sakura. These markers come…
