Hey everyone! Kim here with a fun little product share! When we were at Creativation, with the Creative Scrapbooker Team, in January, we saw this neat flower making tool called Fablossom. This product was being demonstrated with fabric and my first thought was β€˜I wonder if it would easily work with paper?”, a few steps down their booth they had the paper version! SWEET! The kit itself comes with everything you need to make plenty of different flowers, The instructions are very easy to follow, once you get a handle of the paper folding you are good to go! They include lots of all parts required to put the flower together, as well as a punch to create your own centers! I immediately thought of all the paper I have on hand at any given time and figured I can cut circles to make this work with my own product!…

Hello everyone! Kim here, sharing a few of my favourite supplies! This was originally going to be a share of my take on the March Sketchy Challenge, a fantastic story line design with spots for lots of pictures! As you will soon see…I failed the sketch but love my finished layout! That is the joy of a sketch though, it can be a literal design to follow…or simply a starting place for your creative mind! So, I have this little obsession lately with all things Wild Whisper Design. Each and every one of their collections to date pulls me in…hook, line and sinker! I love the colours, the images, the quality and I admit to having a little Canadian pride for this small company! For my layout, I used their recent collection, Wild Whimsy! It was perfect for my sea turtle pictures and the mermaid, though so trendy right now,…

When I travel I like to document my thoughts, experiences and days in a journal. When I have a bit more time (or my husband needs a nap) I like to draw and record the colours and patterns around me too.Β  Kelly Klapstein’s new products were made for hand lettering but the minute I got my hands on them I knew they’d be great for using as a journal. Traveler’s journals are all the rage right now and Kelly’s journals and juicy pens are definitely going into my suitcase.Β Β  If you do a bit of prep before you leave you can have fun making water color backgrounds to add more interest to your documentation.β€―Β  Here’s how I created my journal:β€― 1] Β  I prepped my journal page by spreading gesso with an old hotel room key (a loyalty card would work too).β€― It doesn’t have to be smooth, actually a…

March, in like a lion, out like a…. LION???? I don’t remember being prepared for this scenario in grade school! Is anyone else, just β€œpooped” with winter? On this Good Friday, let’s think of REbirth, REnewal, REcharge, REst and REjoice! Let’s all happily move onto April and all things SPRING! Move along March…we’RE done with you! That’s a whole lot of β€œRE’s”!! [Definition ofΒ re-Β in English: re- PREFIXΒ  /Β  1-once more; afresh; anew] Which leads us to this wonderful picture that Andrea Bjork, from Jamestown, NY, sent to us, sharing where she cREates! A room for Bible journaling seems perfect for this Easter weekend! We converted a small bedroom into my office and it has become quite a haven for me!Β  It is where I do all of my Bible Journaling. Submit your photos! We continue to always be looking for your submissions! Don’t be shy; send them along! Have you…

Let’s all give Tombow a celebration SHOUT OUT! Β From Pencil Manufacturer to Stationery Powerhouse:Β  A Look Inside Tombow’s 105-Year HistoryΒ  Β ATLANTA – It all started with a pencil. For 105 years, Tombow has been dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. What began as a 28-year-old man’s dream to follow in the footsteps of his father has now grown to a worldwide brand inspiring its customers to create their best work.Β Β  Founded in Tokyo on Feb. 11, 1913 as Harunosuke Ogawa Shoten, the predecessor to today’s Tombow was focused on creating pencils for an economy that had put an emphasis on education just 41 years prior. Incorporating trends into product design and taking cues from popular movies in Japan and abroad, Harunosuke Ogawa…

Happy Tuesday everyone! Is the sun shining in your neck of the woods and possibly sending a spring vibe to your world? It’s Kim here with a Tuesday With the Team layout share! My layout is NOT very springy but since we are officially still in winter, here I go! I used our January Sketchy Challenge as a starting point for my layout. Rotating it to the left seemed to work best for me. I was thrilled to pull out my Carta Bella β€˜Cabin Fever’ collection!Β  From the first time I set my eyes on this collection I LOVED IT. It definitely gives off a cozy, winter vibe and was perfect for the photos I wanted to share. This collection has the sweetest accent elements in chipboard, stickers and journal cards [12×12 sheet].I love how my completed layout came together so quickly with this sketch a paper collection. Don’t be…

Hello Friday and hello to Christine Beaudry of North Bay, Ontario! Her creative space will be the first we share in 2018 for our WHERE YOU CREATE feature. A BUSY START TO OUR YEAR Our blog and team has been busy with Christmas give-aways, Boxing Day give-aways and our HUGE Creativation give-away. It always amazes me how quickly the months go by on our Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog! As are thoughts lean towards all things spring, despite winter still showing us who’s in charge, Christine’s scrapbooking room will have you thing Springtime in Paris. We love her clean, bright and organized space. FROM CHRISTINE Hi Kim, Here is the space where I create! I dream of going to Paris one day, so the decor is Paris themed. I love organizing my supplies, mostly in the open, so I can see what I have and be inspired by a certain element…

Hello! Kim here with a quick share, my layout based on our December Sketchy Challenge!Β Those who go to retreats with me know that I CANNOT focus and get things done. I chat too much, can’t find what I need and β€œsquirrel” around seeing what everyone else is doing! In the moment, I hate that I can’t scrapbook while retreating, but I come home so inspired…it’s just what I need to unwind and get the creative juices flowing! My friend Kerry gave me the creative task of working with the negative space of her cut-out for a project. Based on the shape…I’m sure it was for her sketch inspired layout as well! MY FAVOURITE RANGER PRODUCTS I taped it onto my blank, bright-white Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s Superstock and started playing with my Ranger Distress Oxide inks! It was the perfect task for my squirrelling brain…no real thought required, just swirling ink…

Brrrrrr! January 2108 has arrived! Β We are in a deep freeze once again here in Alberta; however, weather has been crazy all over! Storm β€œbombs” to the east, freezing rain and mudslides in California! MotherΒ Nature always lets us know who really is in control! FILL MY IN-BOX! On the bright side, our days are slowly getting brighter in the Northern hemisphere, which means more light each day, which means more available light for picture taking! We are getting ready to resume our 2018Β WHERE YOU CREATE blog posts and I need you to FILL my in-box with your photos and write-ups about your creative spaces! Send your emails to me at: kim@creativescrapbooker.ca WHY SHARE? Last year we had a wonderful array of spaces to share! Each and every one offered ideas to decorate and organize our spaces. From big to small, your spaces ROCK! As Creative Scrapbookers it is important to…

HAPPY NEW YEAR Hello and Happy New Year! Kim here for a Tuesday with the Team post! First and foremost, how luck am I to work with such an amazing group of creative souls. I sometimes have to pinch myself! My project today is actually one I worked on in November but did not get a chance to share. In December, my focus quickly went to cards, gift buying and a trip to Mexico. Now it’s time to get back into a creative routine and practice! SIMPLE SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT This simple layout was created using products from Paper House Productions and Tombow. PRODUCT LOVE My layout background was created with two sheets of patterned paper from the Delish 12” Paper Pad covered with the acetate bird sheet. The title and embellishments were cut from papers of the same collection, they add the slightest bit of colour to an otherwise pretty…
