SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER! We have a long weekend ahead of us – YAHOO! We all grew up with our parents yelling at us to get outside in the summer. I did the same to my son when he chose Gameboy over gorgeous summer weather! Then along comes Jomelle Gomez with a craft room share; and honestly…you could lock me up in there and throw away the key…NEVER let me out! You are in for a treat! Hi! My name is Jomelle and this is my craft room. Β Β I can just stay here all day long playing with all my planner goodies. I fell in love with the EZ View desk from The Original Scrapbox. It displays some of my favorite embellishments. I also wanted to display my planner collection. I love to decorate my desk and showcase the current collection that I am working on for my DT projects.…

Kim Gowdy here today with a fun little, mixed media tag to share. I love that all these wonderful mixed media products have oozed into the scrapbooking and card making world. Do you? I believe that any hobby that we stick with for a long time needs to challenge us to keep us interested and engaged. Scrapbooking continues to do just that for me…from my photography to trying new products and techniques, this industry still holds my interest after 12 years! Let’s take a peek at my tag and process. Let’s create the base! Thanks for joining me. I love how my tag turned out. I’m not sure yet how I will use. It may become a scrapbook page element, I may tuck it into an art journal or I may use it on a bottle of wine to give to my hubby to celebrate a milestone anniversary. The photo…

Hello CSM friends! Thanks for dropping by to see how this sweet β€œHELLO” card came together. I used several fun products from MultiCraft’s Forever in Time products. Neutrals Cardstock, 6×6 paper stack; β€œVintage 2”, Laser-Cut Wood Stickers and Epoxy Alpha Buttons. The papers have some gorgeous patterns and their size is perfect for card making! One of the key principles of design is repetition. For my card, I chose to repeat elements from the patterned paper – the rose image, the colours and the circle shape of the roses. My Chameleon pens were the key ingredient to matching the colours. I used them to colour the laser-cut wooden rose & leaf, Β as well as the epoxy alpha, even on the wood I was able to get nice blending of colours! …and I can’t even tell you how yummy it was to colour on the epoxy buttons! The colour was perfect…

Happy Friday! Kim here with another peek into a lovely scrapbooking room or β€œOASIS” as Natalie Dill calls here room. Before we reveal her space…can you believe we are in the middle of June already!? Are your kiddos getting excited for summer vacation? Are you? Count down is on! Let’s get into Natalie’s oasis…it’s gorgeous and a treat for our eyes! Hi Kim! I just wanted to shoot you a few photos of my craft space in a rare state of cleanliness. I love my little scrapbooking oasis decorated in a girly style with peach walls, white and turquoise accents. Thanks so much! Natalie Dill A big thank you to Natalie for letting us into this awesome room! Keep sending along your photos! We have more spaces to share and of course we want yours too! You can see our past, featured scrapbooking spaces anytime on our blog. They live…

Hello! Kim here with a quick layout sharing that was inspired by the Creative Scrapbooker February Sketchy Challenge. I did a very literal take on the sketch; but had so much fun doing it! This silly subject needed bold colours and contrast! Instead of using papers, my back ground was made using Dylusions paint and the Ranger gel plates. I started with piece of Creative Scrapbooker Superstock, this 110lb card-stock can handle the mixed media product! The Ranger gel plates come in four very useable sizes! I took the small rectangle and masked off the area I didn’t want painted. I added my paints, spread with a brayer and made patterns with a Dina Wakey stamp and a Ranger texture tool. My swirls are done with an Art Foamie stamp and white acrylic paint! My bold title and hashtags are done with American Craft Thickers. My journaling was done with…

Happy Tuesday! Kim here with a fun Aloha layout I finished up not too long ago. Do you ever find a collection of papers and embellishments and immediately know what photo[s] you would use with it? I LOVE when that happens, because that’s a big part of the creative process taken care of…sometimes the hardest! This was just the case when I saw the Sun-Kissed collection from Creative Memories! We were fortunate to get to Hawaii for the very first time in February…this paper pack and matching embellishments screamed ALOHA to me! I instantly knew what I wanted to do with this layout, so it came together quite quick…which is so not my norm! I started out with a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Superstock, my favourite base to work on. It’s 110lb cardstock and is a wonderful sturdy base to layer on. I trimmed it down so that I could…

Hey Everyone! Kim here with another wonderful, creative space to share that will have you thinking about an enchanted place most of us know and love; A Hundred Acre Wood. I just love Carilyn’s photos and the story behind her themed crafting space, I’m sure you will love it too! Good afternoon Kim, I have contemplated this day for quite a while, I am so excited to share with Creative Scrapbooker Magazine; my submission for β€œWhere I Create” – it is one of my favourites! The challenge I faced with creating my Craft studio, is that I enjoy a wide variety of crafts; from scrapbooking to knitting, quilting and card-making…just to name a few. This space had to fulfill that wide range of hobbies. Secondly, the space is in my basement, with a small window, so I wanted to have it light and bright.Β  The concept evolved into wanting this…

WHERE YOU CREATE is heading to Oakville, Ontario to check out Connie Evans’ wonderful, bright scrapbooking space! We know you will just LOVE it! Multi-Tasking Family Room Hi Kim, This is the Family room in our house which we turned into my Scrapbook Room. It is also referred to as the Craft Room, the Cat Cave and the Girl Cave. Β Thankfully we have a teenage son who has as much computer gear as I have paper so he uses the Rec Room in the basement. We have moved five times since my hobby started so we’ve designed many scrapbook rooms.Β  When looking for a house it must have craft room space.Β  This room is about 17’ x 10’.Β  There is a lounging area that takes up just over a third of the room just in case my husband or son would like to hang out with me while I’m crafting…

Good Morning, Kim here with a quick sunflower layout share! This layout was very simple to put together using the papers and embellishments from a Vicki Boutin paper kit that was part of a Scrap Shotz kit from last fall [IF my memory is correct!] Sunflowers and photography make me smile, so it’s so important for me to combine the two whenever I can, where ever I can! I was excited to test out my new Deluxe Lettering Kit by Kelly Creates! I used the Black Fine Liners from the kit to do my journaling and add a dot border to the β€œbe fearless” tag! I am not a lettering artist by any means! I am a scrapbooker, card maker and I dabble in mixed media…I can tell you that this lettering kit will be my go to for pens! They are juicy and wonderful…and come in sizes I will…

Good morning and happy Monday! Kim here with a quick birthday card share today! This month I challenged myself to use the April Sketchy Challenge as a starting point for a card. Even before choosing my products, I knew I wanted to make the triangle accent from stamps! I created a paper mask from my Impression Obsession stamped image so I could easily overlap my stamped design making it look like one continuous image – I love how it turned out! I took a black marker and ruler to divide the two sides. I created three layered areas using stamps, stencil and Clearsnap Chalk ink! I fussy cut the bird image and layered it with the Impression Obsession die cut pine boughs and a little black tread. The β€œHappy Birthday” sentiment was a perfect finishing touch! Thanks for taking the time to check out my card, try one of our…
