Hello Summer Collection perfect for Family Photos

Hello again! Kim here with another layout share for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine! As our Alberta days shorten and get cooler, I am drawn to the colours of the season but my scrapbooking keeps me into summer vibes just a bit longer! For my layout, I used Simple Stories collection – Hello Summer. It was easy to pull out the patterned paper and embellishments that worked with my photo; a rare family photo opportunity that found my parents, siblings and myself all together! If lobster bibs are part of that moment…so be it! Here I matted my main image on a piece of CSM Superstock and made it larger to accommodate my journaling as well as my photo. Simple Summer Layout with Creative Memories’ Maritime Collection

Hey! Kim here with a quick layout share! Before our summer holidays, I got my hands on the Maritime Collection by Creative Memories. I knew I would have some Nova Scotia memories that would play perfectly with this collection of beautiful papers. The colour palette has a soft hazy vibe to it, I love it! My layout simply layers papers, journal cards, stickers and border die cuts; all from the collection. I edged my papers and embellishments with Ranger Distress Ink before adhering them down. A few Wild Whisper aqua sequins were added to the wave die cut border for some added dimension and pop of colour. My little cluster of embellishments are stickers and part of a die cut border that is part of the Maritime collection. I added a few Wild Whisper sequin leaves to give the feel of sunlight hitting the seaweed…it often shimmers in the sun!…

Happy Birthday BFF card using FUN Art Impressions stamp set!

Hello and good day! Kim here on the blog with another fun card using a fun stamp set from Art Impressions! You can never have enough birthday cards on hand, so that’s what I have to share today! Art Impressions has so many wonderful stamps; and although they have a gorgeous series of watercolor stamps, and animal characters, I am personally drawn to the cheeky humour of people stamps! They always seem to have the perfect quote to go along with the perfect image…and they ALWAYS make me laugh! Without further delay, let’s peek at the birthday card I made to share! It was such a fun card to make and actually quite quick to make. Here is a look at the process! Ranger! Normal is so Boring card.

I have a problem. I might need help, an addiction you might say…I LOVE all things Ranger, nothing Ranger is boring…it’s ALL super fun and lets my creativity flow! I sat down to make a quick card for this blog post, I pulled out some inks and stamps, but couldn’t stick with one Ranger designer, so I kept pulling out product from 4 designers! Check out all this yumminess…Distress Oxides, Dylusions paint pens, Distress Spray, Dina Wakley stamps, Scribble Sticks, Wendy Vecchi embossing powder and my Dylusions Journal Block. All of these fabulous supplies worked harmoniously to create my card. I doodled, traced, embossed and just had FUN! Not once did I overthink the process, and I love the finished card! Heartfelt Creations – Have a Beautiful Day Card

Whoa! Someone put the reigns on August! Somehow this summer has gotten away from us and September is right around the corner! That means kids are back to school and the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival is too! Seems like we just packed up from last year’s carnival! So today I have a quick card share for you that looks a bit more time consuming than it is! Rule #1 as a card maker – make them think you sweat…think Rice Crispy commercial! My card was inspired by our July Sketchy challenge and layered on top of some CSM superstock! Twist and Turn those Sketches!

Good Morning everyone! Kim here with a very quick layout share of my take on our June Sketchy Challenge. As you will see, once again I have flipped and rotated the sketch!My layout still only loosely follows the new perspective, but you’ll see how the components of the layout are still there!Echo Park’s Dog collection was the perfect choice for my subject; my ready-to-go chocolate lab Bella! I used MultiCraft’s card stock as my base as well as adhesives from Therm O Web and a Chameleon Color Tones pen aptly named ‘bark’ [though probably as it relates to a tree not a dog-LOL]. We look forward to seeing how you use our monthly sketches from the Sketchy Gallery! We LOVE to share them on social media!

Foiling Fun with Therm O Web, Gina K. Designs and Kim Gowdy!

Seriously! Have you tried foiling yet? I did! I LOVE it… Makes me think of changing the words to Kate Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” song…sing with me! I tried to foil… and I liked it! Crafty Girl Collection and CSM Sketches!

Hello everyone – Kim Gowdy here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Do you know what I LOVE? Sketches! Did you know that Creative Scrapbooker Magazine has a fun Sketchy Challenge every month? That’s 12 sketches a year for as long as I can remember…saved between a NEW and OLD gallery…there’s a lot of inspiration in these galleries! Why 2 galleries? Technology! Our older gallery is no longer “stable” …what that means is it’s a great place for viewing but NOT for uploading new content! So, although today’s layout share will find a home in our newest gallery, don’t forget to visit sketches from days gone by, they don’t expire!
