Birthday Card from our April Sketch

Good morning and happy Monday! Kim here with a quick birthday card share today! This month I challenged myself to use the April Sketchy Challenge as a starting point for a card. Even before choosing my products, I knew I wanted to make the triangle accent from stamps! I created a paper mask from my Impression Obsession stamped image so I could easily overlap my stamped design making it look like one continuous image – I love how it turned out! I took a black marker and ruler to divide the two sides. I created three layered areas using stamps, stencil and Clearsnap Chalk ink! I fussy cut the bird image and layered it with the Impression Obsession die cut pine boughs and a little black tread. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment was a perfect finishing touch! Enabler Alert!!! Product Share!

Hey everyone! Kim here with a fun little product share! When we were at Creativation, with the Creative Scrapbooker Team, in January, we saw this neat flower making tool called Fablossom. This product was being demonstrated with fabric and my first thought was ‘I wonder if it would easily work with paper?”, a few steps down their booth they had the paper version! SWEET! The kit itself comes with everything you need to make plenty of different flowers, The instructions are very easy to follow, once you get a handle of the paper folding you are good to go! They include lots of all parts required to put the flower together, as well as a punch to create your own centers! I immediately thought of all the paper I have on hand at any given time and figured I can cut circles to make this work with my own product!…

When I travel I like to document my thoughts, experiences and days in a journal. When I have a bit more time (or my husband needs a nap) I like to draw and record the colours and patterns around me too. Kelly Klapstein’s new products were made for hand lettering but the minute I got my hands on them I knew they’d be great for using as a journal. Traveler’s journals are all the rage right now and Kelly’s journals and juicy pens are definitely going into my suitcase. Fall Hand Lettered Home Decor with Chameleon Pens

Hello everyone – Kelly Klapstein here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Fall is the time of year when I like to change up the home decor and add some new hand lettering projects to celebrate the season. I have been inspired by our resident colouring artist Betty Hung, who illustrates and colours like no one I have ever seen! So I decided to design a hand lettered Autumn-themed piece and use my Chameleon Pens products to colour it. I have used the Chameleon Color Tone pens before, but I haven’t used their Color Tones pencils…and this rainbow of pencils are just gorgeous in the box. There are 25 double-ended pencils, which adds up to 50 colours! For every hand lettered project, my first step is to sketch a design roughly with pencil. Have you tried creating a watercolor effect on a scrapbook page or a card lately? For some reason when people say “watercolor” I get all nervous – like only highly trained artists can create a fun watercolor effect. Scrapbooking with Art Impression Stamps

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout that features some adorably funny Art Impressions stamps. These stamps always brings a huge smile to my face. Although I’m sure they are most often used to make cards, why not use them to embellish a scrapbook layout? I had the perfect photograph to go with a stamp of three friends drinking wine! Stamps Used Here’s the Art Impressions stamp sets I used. I had two sets of funny wine stamps in my stash and I wanted to use them both. I stamped and coloured the ladies from the Girlfriends set with markers, then stamped some of the funny wine expressions, cutting each of them out and backing with black cardstock.
