Good morning and happy Monday! Kim here with a quick birthday card share today! This month I challenged myself to use the April Sketchy Challenge as a starting point for a card. Even before choosing my products, I knew I wanted to make the triangle accent from stamps! I created a paper mask from my Impression Obsession stamped image so I could easily overlap my stamped design making it look like one continuous image – I love how it turned out! I took a black marker and ruler to divide the two sides. I created three layered areas using stamps, stencil and Clearsnap Chalk ink! I fussy cut the bird image and layered it with the Impression Obsession die cut pine boughs and a little black tread. The β€œHappy Birthday” sentiment was a perfect finishing touch! Thanks for taking the time to check out my card, try one of our…

Hey everyone! Kim here with a fun little product share! When we were at Creativation, with the Creative Scrapbooker Team, in January, we saw this neat flower making tool called Fablossom. This product was being demonstrated with fabric and my first thought was β€˜I wonder if it would easily work with paper?”, a few steps down their booth they had the paper version! SWEET! The kit itself comes with everything you need to make plenty of different flowers, The instructions are very easy to follow, once you get a handle of the paper folding you are good to go! They include lots of all parts required to put the flower together, as well as a punch to create your own centers! I immediately thought of all the paper I have on hand at any given time and figured I can cut circles to make this work with my own product!…

Hello everyone! Kim here, sharing a few of my favourite supplies! This was originally going to be a share of my take on the March Sketchy Challenge, a fantastic story line design with spots for lots of pictures! As you will soon see…I failed the sketch but love my finished layout! That is the joy of a sketch though, it can be a literal design to follow…or simply a starting place for your creative mind! So, I have this little obsession lately with all things Wild Whisper Design. Each and every one of their collections to date pulls me in…hook, line and sinker! I love the colours, the images, the quality and I admit to having a little Canadian pride for this small company! For my layout, I used their recent collection, Wild Whimsy! It was perfect for my sea turtle pictures and the mermaid, though so trendy right now,…

When I travel I like to document my thoughts, experiences and days in a journal. When I have a bit more time (or my husband needs a nap) I like to draw and record the colours and patterns around me too.Β  Kelly Klapstein’s new products were made for hand lettering but the minute I got my hands on them I knew they’d be great for using as a journal. Traveler’s journals are all the rage right now and Kelly’s journals and juicy pens are definitely going into my suitcase.Β Β  If you do a bit of prep before you leave you can have fun making water color backgrounds to add more interest to your documentation.β€―Β  Here’s how I created my journal:β€― 1] Β  I prepped my journal page by spreading gesso with an old hotel room key (a loyalty card would work too).β€― It doesn’t have to be smooth, actually a…

Hello everyone – Kelly Klapstein here today on the Creative Scrapbooker MagazineΒ blog. Fall is the time of year when I like to change up the home decor and add some new hand lettering projects to celebrate the season. I have been inspired by our resident colouring artist Betty Hung, who illustrates and colours like no one I have ever seen! So I decided to design a hand lettered Autumn-themed piece and use my Chameleon Pens products to colour it. I have used the Chameleon Color Tone pens before, but I haven’t used their Color Tones pencils…and this rainbow of pencils are just gorgeous in the box. There are 25 double-ended pencils, which adds up to 50 colours! For every hand lettered project, my first step is to sketch a design roughly with pencil. I have an 8 x 10″ frame for this piece, so I knew the measurements of the…

Have you tried creating a watercolor effect on a scrapbook page or a card lately? For some reason when people say “watercolor” I get all nervous – like only highly trained artists can create a fun watercolor effect. I am also very guilty of purchasing all kinds of fancy things with the word watercolor on them in hopes that they might some day turn me into a watercolor artists! Β LOL! Okay I just solidified to you all that I am slightly crazy! The Web Show When Kelly Klapstein filmed this webshow with us a few months back I was excited! Β Easy watercolor effect is only a STAMP away!!! YAHOOO! Pair that up with ink, the Brother ScanNCut and some Tombow Dual Brush pens and voila! You got yourself an EASY, ANYONE can re-create card! Hi everyone! Noreen Smith here, and I’m so happy to be back on the Creative Scrapbooker blog today sharing a couple of projects made with Creative Memories’ new school-themed Bookworm Collection! A Peek at the Bookworm Collection I’m sure I say this every year, but where has the summer gone? It’s hard to believe that it’s the middle of August and my kids will be starting school in just a couple of weeks! But, I must admit that Back-to-School is one of my favorite times of the year.Β  I love thinking about the possibilities of the year ahead, buying fun new stationary supplies and enjoying the hint of fall leaves in the air. As I’ve been getting ready for the new school year, I just had to stop to reflect on past school years and create a quick layout and teacher gift with CM’s cute new products! For the…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a Β layout that features some adorably funny Art Impressions stamps. Β These stamps always brings a huge smile to my face. Β Although I’m sure they are most often used to make cards, why not use them to embellish a scrapbook layout? Β I had the perfect photograph to go with a stamp of three friends drinking wine! Stamps Used Here’s the Art Impressions stamp sets I used. Β I had two sets of funny wine stamps in my stash and I wanted to use them both. Β I stamped and coloured the ladies from the Girlfriends set with markers, then stamped some of the funny wine expressions, cutting each of them out and backing with black cardstock. Paper Products Used The paper and stickers I used are from the Be Happy 12 x 12 paper pad from Paper House Productions. Β Such beautiful patterns and these soft pink and…
