Do you want to know something? It may sound crazy…this will be the LAST Where You Create share before the kids go back to school! Where the heck did summer go? Hoping yours has been as awesome as mine, though I have worked lots, my family managed time for holidays and fun. We must, summers can be short in Alberta, Canada. That being said, I refer to “summer” as the school holidays…we still have lots of time for wonderful weather, be sure to get out and enjoy it! …BUT! While we continue to have lovely day light…get your camera out and snap a few shots of your creative spaces and fill up my email with your WYC submissions! This week we are heading south to Hanover, Pennsylvania, USA! My name is Anita Fordyce and I live in Hanover, PA, which is near Gettysburg. I have been scrapbooking for about 20…
We are officially one month into summer! Many of you will have taken holidays already, some will be packing up to go and others may be enjoying a “stay-cation”. Do you include creative time with your holiday time? Do your kids join you in your craft room while they are home from school or is it an off limit “mom zone”? So, today’s craft room share is really unique! I am really thrilled that Linda Kuehl shared her space…it proves that you can eke out a perfect creative space when you set your mind to it! Check this out! I have a 3-car garage. A double space and a single space. I have partitioned the single space off and converted into my “Art Studio”. I hung curtains from the ceiling all the way to the floor to keep out dust, etc. I have an infra-red heater for the winter and…
Well here we are! The last Where You Create in June! I hope once everyone gets into summer mode…a few more of you will snap some photos and share a bit about your creative spaces! Today we’ll be checking out Kathy Fast’s creative space…I know you’ll LOVE it! Hi there! I would really like to share my new space with you and other creative people! I was struggling with my crafting space for several years. My husband had built me a wonderful “studio” desk but I outgrew it once my crafting migrated from personal scrapbooking to creating hand-painted signs. I found myself taking over the dining room table & kitchen island! My husband graciously agreed that I needed a proper space of my own (or maybe he just got tired of my stuff taking over every room of the house!). I now have an absolutely beautiful 12’ x 12’ cabin just for my…
Happy Friday! Didn’t we just turn the page on June? How did it get to be the 9th already! Before you know it, the kids will be done school and holidays begin! Do you have some big summer plans or do you prefer “stay-cations” – hanging out in the sprinkler and enjoying what your neighbourhood has to offer? I might clean my craft room on a rainy day!!! Speaking of craft rooms, let’s peek into Melanie Bennett’s space, her story will make you appreciate how powerful our hobby is! I love my crafty space, it’s my place to decompress. I was diagnosed with MS several years ago and turned to crafting once I was unable to work anymore. Crafting has given me such a wonderful way to spend my time and has opened the door to meet some of the best men & women that I am lucky to now call…
How can it already be the last Friday of May? I feel the months are just flying by this year! Maybe a sign of getting older or a sign of too much on my plate…maybe just a tad of each! Today’s creative space kind of plays into this concept of time flying by! Last year I asked Lisa to share some photos of her creative space with me. I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa at a retreat a few years back and was in awe of her supply haul and could only imagine how and where she stored it at home! Lisa kindly agreed to send some pictures at the exact time my computer crashed and I opted to join team Mac! Changing from a PC to Mac came with a learning curve and lost photos from Lisa as I learned a new workflow! A year flew by! I…
Hello Friday! How was your week? As I ready for this week’s Where You Create, I have just watched the news and continue to be in awe of the power of weather. I feel bad grumbling over not so great weather when others are dealing with so much flooding and loss…if you can – help, even if it’s putting forward positive thoughts! Because the world needs a little less crazy…lets head into Arlene’s well organized scrapbooking space! Those of you who follow us on Instagram may know her as @omaarlene …she is always sharing her #CSMphotopromtps and we LOVE that she plays along! Hi there! I thought I would share my space. My hubby gave me an early gift and had a picture window installed in our basement, I am thrilled! Lots of natural daylight. Here are a few photos… My husband also made it possible to have my work…
Ahhhh, spring found us! Today in the Edmonton region of Alberta we are supposed to hit 26C! It will feel so good! Another thing that will warm YOUR creative soul is a peek into Jackie’s wonderful creative space…let’s go! Dear Kim, I have attached the photos of my space! Through the door there is a bookcase with my magazines and where I hang the jewelry that is in my etsy store. Then you have the Cricut center. Under the Cricut, in the cabinets are boxes of material for sewing; I make custom camera straps for my etsy store. The tall bookcase holds cutters and supplies for the Cricut. Then we have my counter top workspace! A map on the wall documents my travels with pins. After cruises and more, I love to scrapbook the places I have been! The 1st bookcase on the wall opposite my counter holds all jewelry…
Hello and Happy Easter to everyone who will be celebrating the holiday this weekend! Does anyone else find it hard to believe we are already half way through April! Mother Nature has given a few glimpses of spring…then takes it away! Here’s hoping she is in a good mood this weekend! Today we are sharing a panoramic view of Sharon Coleman’s lovely creative space! I am loving her pops of red & teal; as well as all the lovely art hung on her walls! Here’s what Sharon has to say about her space: Hi! I am a 60-year-old who thought my days of creating were behind me, until about 5 years ago! My husband lost his Job and we moved to another state. Drawing, painting, bible journaling and more have become such a GREAT outlet for me. In May of 2015, our youngest of 5 children got married and we…
So? Are you wearing any green today? Will you be drinking any green beer? Will someone kiss you just because you’re Irish? Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! So much to celebrate on this day even if you aren’t Irish, because we are just three more sleeps until the start of spring…winter is almost behind us; or at least that is what my brain thinks! The days are brighter and whatever snow comes now, shouldn’t last long…we’ve got this! Time to get to business! We are thrilled to share Joanne McClintock’s creative space today. You will love her organized space! Hi Kim. I thought I would share my craft space today. I’m quite proud of it; but it is and will always be, a work in progress. I try to add objects that inspire me, so it is ever changing. My fabulous hubby agreed to move our eldest son downstairs so I…
Hello! Kim here again for a Where You Create share! I am really happy to share today’s space with you because I think it represents a big percentage of people who scrapbook! We all love dedicated spaces with lots of great organizing ideas…but it’s just not the reality for everyone. I like to think of our creative space as a vehicle…it doesn’t matter what you drive as long as it gets you to the destination! Our destination…completed layouts and stories told! Let’s take a peek into Angie Storlie’s creative space! I’m sure you will agree…it’s pretty SWEET! Hi Kim, I am a “kitchen table” scrapbooker who keeps my stuff in a big Rubbermaid tub and a 12×12 paper organizer; in the bottom of my closet. While I would love to have a dedicated scrap space someday, there is something great about keeping my stash to a minimum and having it portable. …
