by Connie Nichol Hereβs my take on the September 2014 sketch from Canadian Scrapbookerβs Itβs a Sketchy Challenge. Yes, there`s pink on here and it`s a boy layout. I used a great paper stack from DCWV, Vintage Collector and two of the supporting matching smaller stacks. I love the variety of colours and patterns in this stack. Hereβs the September sketch. I actually followed it pretty closely this time around.Β Instead of eight squares, I put in eight paper bottle caps punched from a sheet of the DCWV paper.Β I found that a 1 Β½β scallop punch was the perfect size and added a bottle cap like edge. I also cut the other embellishments out of the paper stacks and used my favourite brown Clearsnap Fluid Chalk ink, stylus and white foam tip for edging and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3LΒ 3D Foam SquaresΒ to add a little dimension. These little touches…

Kim here to sneak in my take on October’s sketch, designed by Sue Sykes! A fun sketch to work with; oneΒ that I can see using again! Great way to add multiple photos or use up many of those pocket page style kits! I used LOTS of Stampin’ Up! goodness on this page! Paper is from the Flowerpot Designer Series and I used their new Sizzix Dies: Project Life & Word Bubbles. Other Stampin’ Up! products used were the buttons, stamps, ink & the pink, ruffled ribbon! My titles were cut usingΒ purchased SVG files from Wilna Furstenberg’s site and the wooden banner is from Studio Calico. Everything played together well to create this fun page celebrating a road trip to Phoenix with great friends! Here is the sketchΒ I based my layout on. Join in our monthly challenge! CLICK HERE!

Happy July 1st everyone!Β Connie Nichol here with a patriotic red and white Canada Day layout.Β I was briefly tempted to use non-traditional colours, but just couldn’t do it.Β LOL I used the July Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy challenge sketch as a starting point.Β It looks like this: I decided to start with a base of Core’Dinations Spotted cardstock.Β It looks so lovely and textured, especially when you sand a tiny bit off of the top. The other day I saw that Rhonda Steed had some free Canada day printables up on her blog (hot link www.rhondasteed.com) and I was totally inspired to use a couple of these project life typecards as part of my layout. Then, instead of reaching for patterned paper strips to follow the July sketch, I decided to use a variety of May Arts ribbon.Β Sometimes ribbon is a pain to adhere to a layout, especially skinny…

Here is my take on May Sketchy Challenge. Β Aren’t these Bo Bunny papers adorable? Β This collection is called “Happy Tails”. Β When I saw them I knew I had to make a scrapbook layout of our new puppy Finnigan! To create that background of red hearts, I designed a stencil with my Brotherβ’ ScanNCut machine. I also designed the “Puppy Love” title with the ScanNCutΒ and Core’dinations Colorcore Cardstock. If you’d like to watch another video that shows how I created the stencil heart background, click HERE to visit my blog. Β On my blog I also have the free cutting file of this…

Think Spring! Featuring BoBunny Woodland Winter and Quietfire Design Stamps In my part of Canada, we have plenty of winter, and plenty of snow,Β but usually the only time of year when the snow is melty enough to stick together and build a snowmanΒ is spring.Β Itβs too bad, really, because that also usually means that the snowman will not stick around for long.Β The higher sun angle and warmer temperatures during this time of year typically result in his rapid disappearance into a large puddle of icy water. The snowman building process is still fun though, especially if you use delicious cookies for eyes and buttons.Β I found a couple of photos from when my boys were little that brought back these memories.Β I was inspired to scrapbook them with the April sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy challenge and some stunning papers and embellishments from BoBunny.…
