Hi everyone!Β  It’s Kelly Klapstein here to share my layout based on our March Sketchy challenge. Here is the sketch: I used the gorgeous paper collection called “Soiree” by BoBunny. These papers are perfect for my daughter’s photo because she adores all things vintage and retro. I used my Brother ScanNCut to create the title, including the hand lettered ‘Hello,’Β  which is a cut file I designed myself. I also outlined the “Sweet Sixteen” with a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen. This dimensional flower with leaves is from the ScanNCut machine library of images. And the banner is an Impression Obsession stamp that was scanned and cut with the ScanNCut also…. no fussy cutting! I coloured the banners with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Did you know the ScanNCut also has the ability to draw designs?Β  I used the drawing pens feature for the journaling. That little brown gingham…

Hello again! It’s Kim here with my take on the February Sketch designed by Kelly Klapstein. I was inspired to rotate the sketch as shown and from there just started to play until I felt I was done! I love how it turned out, though my husband doesn’t see any similarity to the sketch…LOL! The papers and embellishments are from Bo Bunny’s Believe collection. I was hesitant at first to get this collection of papers, as I wasn’t sure if the theme would work for my style of scrapbooking. Β Once I opened up the papers, stickers and die cuts I was pleased to find LOTS that I was comfortable working with…I love the colours and whimsy so much. The products that don’t β€œwork” for me will easily be altered and adapted for my needs.Β So many inspirational sayings and thoughts, I can’t wait to play with this paper collection again. I…

Good day Creative Scrapbookers! Jayme Loge here today with a few layouts from my craft table. I wanted to play with a few simple supplies and try to create a couple of layouts with them. I started with a few sheets of We R Memory Keepers patterned paper and coordinating sticker set, a few sheets of Bazzill cardstock and an American Crafts alphabet set. Here’s what I did with them: First, I started off using the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketch from this month’s β€œLet’s Get Sketchy” challenge – CLICK HERE to download your take on this sketch! I added the heart to the background with some β€˜vintage’ Heidi Swapp masks and Inca Gold paste. I changed the orientation of the sketch somewhat and used a special old photo taken on a trip to Mexico in 2000. Back then, film cameras were still in use and disposable panoramic cameras were all…

Hello! Kim here with a layout I worked on after Christmas. I used our January Sketchy Challenge, designed by Kelly Klapstein. It was a great jumping point to get back in the groove after a creative hiatus over the holidays. For my projects I used the Bo Bunny β€œWhiteout” Collection along with elements from the co-ordinating Ephemera pack available with the collection. It was all part of a monthly kit I purchase from Scrap Shotz out of Calgary. I laughed when I saw Kelly’s layout…she used the same collection! I promise this was by coincidence [great minds think alike…] Here is a quick detail shot of some of the yumminess found in this collection…a little glitter for winter layouts is perfect! The word stickers are older Tim Holtz idea-ology stickers that never go out of style. For my journalling I used a Micron Pigment Marker by Sakura. These markers come…

I’m getting all caught up with my Sketchy Challenges…it feels good! I love working with sketches, it takes the toughest part of scrapbooking out of the picture-the design! Once that part is dealt with the creative juices can flow. Here is our September Sketch, designed by Kelly Klapstein, that was the starting point for my page. For this layout I wanted to play with my newly purchased Nuance Pigment Powders from Magenta. It was the first time I played with them after hearing about them through Christy Riopel at our Edmonton carnival. They are FUN to say the least and I look forward to using them more and learning other applications with them. I masked off three boxes and used the Nuance powders to colour them…I really should have used a small amount of Gesso on my cardstock, but I forgot…it’s a learning process! Had I used the Gesso my…

Kim Gowdy here on the blog today, happily sharing my layout inspired by the August Sketchy Challenge. I have been struggling to find time in my craft room these past months…but stay focused to get ALL the sketches completed! The August sketch designed by Kelly Klapstein was very graphic. I swayed from that aspect of the design but otherwise kept pretty true to it. My layout is pretty simple using papers, stickers and ephemera from Fancy Pant’s “ME-OLOGY” collection. The paw print, cut behind the pictures, was done on my Cricut Explore using Close To My Heart’s Artistry cartridge. I also used Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L and the little wood veneer dogs were from Studio Calico. By the way; the topic of my layout…TRUE STORY! Go forth and scrapbookΒ withΒ our sketches. They are always available in our Sketchy Gallery. On time or late…we LOVE to see what you share.

Hello everyone!Β  It’s Kelly Klapstein here with my layout for the October Sketchy Challenge. The Fall colour palette is so beautiful…all the golds, reds, yellows, oranges.Β  They make me so happy when designing a scrapbook layout, especially when I have some pretty photos in hand and the perfect papers to match. Here is my take on the October Sketch: These Creative Memories papers are so pretty and have a light vintage feel to them. I used my Brother ScanNCut to create this paper pieced pumpkin, along with cutting the hexagons. I hope you give this sketch a shot and upload your layout to our Sketchy Gallery! We would love to see your designs! Kelly Klapstein You can visit Kelly’s blog by clicking HERE.
