Hi Everyone!Β  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share my layout based on the September Sketchy Challenge. Here is my sketch: I used the gorgeous Kaisercraft collection “Botanica.” Actually, these products were in my September kit from ScrapShotz. With this Kaisercraft stamp set and Β “Avocado” ink, I added a subtle pattern of leaves to the solid green paper layers. When you stamp several times or ‘values’ without reloading with ink, you can create your own patterned paper (learned from the great ink queen herself, Cathie Allan!) The leaves are cut with my Brother ScanNCut machine After cutting them from mixed media paper, I watercoloured them with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I also used my Tombow pens for hand letteringΒ  my title “Hello.” Here is a video on my YouTube channel that shows how I created the watercolour leaves. https://youtu.be/Yhj_8jnlzHM I would love to see what you create with my…

Another month, another Sketchy Challenge! I stayed pretty true to Sue’s design, but still feel I made it my own! I decided to to pick my papers first and pictures last…not always the easiest starting point. I choose to create my layout using the BoBunny “Safari” collection. As I played with the patterns and sketch I remembered I had a few pictures kicking around from my teenage days in Germany. I choose to use one from school trip to the Berlin! My journalling is tucked behind the upper corner of my picture. I used two 3×4 journal cards included in the collection; folded in half. So I challenge you to go forth and create with this awesome sketch! Don’t forget to share on our Sketchy Gallery! Kim Gowdy

Hello everyone!Β  It’s Kelly Klapstein here to share with you my new double layout sketch and design for the Winter 2015 page call!Β  Don’t hate me for saying the word, “Winter!” ha ha I fell in love with the new BoBunny “Sweet Life” collection and knewΒ it would look perfect with some photos of my youngest daughter. I fussy cut some of theΒ beautiful flowers and butterflies from the Bobunny patterned paper as embellishments. Those otherΒ pretty flowers are Bobunny too, but I felt they were a little too dark for my layout, so I took out some Clearsnap Colorbox Chalk ink in a white colour called “Popcorn”Β and altered theΒ dark redΒ flowersΒ so they were lighter.Β The gold pearls in the flower centres are BoBunny Jewels. See those pretty doilies tucked behind my photos? I used the BoBunny Lace Stickable Stencil and Pastel Pink Colorbox Chalk ink to make them! I had never used these…

featuring Sizzix Eclips2 electronic die cutting machine, Core’dinations cardstock,Β Β Simple Stories patterned paper and chipboard stickers Ha! Β It’s not often you run into Marilyn Monroe (since it has been reported she died in 1962), but on a vacation in California, we were happy to see her sitting on a chair in Universal Studios Hollywood. Β My husband was thrilled to have a photo taken with her. Β The April Sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge was perfect for scrapbooking these pictures that I took with my phone. Β Rather than the circles shown in the sketch, I considered using stars but finally settled on diamonds, since don’t you know, Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend. I cut the diamonds on Core’dinations Black Magic cardstock with my Sizzix Eclips2 electronic die cutting machine. Β The basic shapes that are supplied with this machine are so handy. Β I just dragged and dropped the squishy diamond shape…

Hi, Connie here today. This layout was inspired by the February sketch in the Canadian Scrapbooker It’s a Sketchy Challenge and the new Kaisercraft Shine Bright collection. The latter turned up in my mailbox as part of the latest Scrap Shotz monthly kit and the colours were so striking – bright yellow and black and gray – perfect for some older soccer photos in my collection. I knew I wanted to create a soccer ball to use as the circular element suggested by the February sketch and quickly realized that my Sizzix Eclips2 electronic die cutting machine could make that soccer ball an easy thing. I simply googled β€˜soccer svg’ and found a lovely free soccer ball cut file on the internet.Β Β  I imported the file into Ecal (the software used with the Eclips2) sized it appropriately and then cut it out on a couple of different colours…

Just a quick share for you today. I have been working with Sue’s February Sketchy ChallengeΒ and stayed fairly true to the design, but always try to add my own spin to them. The papers I used are from BoBunny’s “Souvenir Collection”, it has one sheet that is an entire alphabet; from that sheet I fussy cut the title “WINE”. I inked up a few stencils with Clearsnap FluidΒ Chalk inks and painted the Magenta Chipboard “gears” with Viva DΓ©cor Inka Gold paint. The uneven borders are hand drawn and Zentangled with a Sharpie marker. Be sure to share how you use the sketch in our gallery!
