Hello everyone! It’s Kelly here to share with you a fun Valentine card I designed using DCWV’s new Vintage Collector line. Here are the DCWV products that I used: These new DCWV cards make it so quick and easy to customize your own designs. I started with the card base and then added to the interior. I trimmed this piece of paper from the mat stack to fit inside. I chose this “Love” label from the Vintage Collector Tag Stack and added a piece of May Arts ribbon.. Then I decided to make a pocket for it using the matching Vintage Collector card stock. I drew faux stitching with a ruler around the pocket edges. I cut out the [heart] U image from a piece of paper in the Vintage Collector Mat Stack and adhered it to the centre of the pocket. And that is that! Pretty easy! Now…

Housework is something you do that nobody notices until you don’t do it. Author unknown Spring is my favourite time of the year. The weather warms up, the days get longer, snow begins to melt, and flowers bloom. However, with the brighter light and longer days I begin to notice things that I haven’t seen all winter, such as dust bunnies under the furniture, piles of discarded clothes in corners, and the list goes on. It motivates me to begin spring cleaning. While spring cleaning, look for some of these (and other) wonderful things that you can use on your scrapbooking projects: Styrofoam trays – for painting or handmade stamps Dryer sheets –for mixed media collage or for creating flowers Old kitchen tools – for making into pretty little presents or as stamps or as part of a mixed media project. I love submission calls! Often when I am out of creative ideas, a page call is just the thing to spark ideas! For the Spring issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine (PICK YOURS UP TODAY) there is a fun loving article for Tye Dye you won’t want to miss! For the TIE DYE page call, my first thought was how to create the look using products I have. The more I thought of it the more I realized that TIE DYE was more than just a technique, it evoked a feeling. A feeling of free spirit, happy times, freedom and just “chilling” with your friends! So these cards evolved… For the TIE DYE technique I used Ranger Distress Ink Refills and Perfect Pearl Mists. Making a Ribbon Mat for Your Page I love the texture of ribbons and I am always looking for a new way to use it on my page. In this layout I created a mat with pieces of May Arts ribbons. I started with Be Creative Sookwang double sided tape, a big pile of awesome May Arts ribbon and a piece of scrap chipboard. I then put two strips of tape down each side of the chipboard. I cut several strips of ribbon just a bit longer then the chipboard. I attached the strips to the tape on one side. Wrapped it around the front and then attached it to the other side. I added some sheer ribbons and smaller ribbons over top of the first layer to make it even more textured. My finished mat was then beautiful and ready to attach to my page. Beautiful,…
