Hi everyone – Karen Ellis here! My friend Sheri inspired me to play around with Tombow Markers and white embossing powder this week and I wanted to show you the results …. cause I LOVE it! HAHA Here’s what I used: Tombow Markers – Assorted Colours One of my favourite rubber stamp sets (Catherine Scanlon Designs, Art Gone Wild) Perfect Medium Ink (Ranger Industries) or your favourite embossing ink. White embossing powder Watercolour postcard (Strathmore) or other watercolour paper a waterbrush (not pictured) Heat Gun (not pictured) The first thing to do is emboss a stamped image onto the back of the watercolour postcard with your embossing ink and stamp.Β Β  Heat to set and get ready to colour!! The embossing acts as a resist to the ink and water.Β Β  Go ahead and colour a portion of your stamp with the markers and then, with a wet brush, drag the ink…

Hello everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today with an easy watercolour technique you can use on a card or other crafty project. I created this card with a beautiful Magenta stamp, Chameleon Pens, and a Sizzix embossing folder using Canadian Scrapbooker Superstock paper. First, I inked up my Magenta stamp with Clearsnap Colorbox white pigment ink, and stamped and heat embossed onto white Superstock. Β I wanted a white outline background to colour in. Magenta rubber stamps have gorgeous, intricate details that show up perfectly when stamped! To create a watercolour effect, I took out my set of Chameleon Pens. These alcohol ink pens are amazing! You have all shades or tones of colour in a single pen. So for the yellow petals, I coloured in gradations of yellow because the Chameleon pen allows you to add toner to the pen nib with a couple of easy steps. Β There’s a LOT…

Hello! Kim here to show you how to make some gorgeous watercolour style backgrounds for your stamped images. I will be using a Gel Printing Plate, Tombow markers, water and Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock. The Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock works best because it is so strong and can hold up to the amount of wet media used on this project. I am so NOT a video person, but thought it would be easier to show you this simple technique in video format. With the magic of my iPhone…here we go! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq679RRuEQY&feature=youtu.be After making the backgrounds, let them dry completely, then they are ready for you to create with! I pulled out some of my favourite Magenta Stamps to make three different cards. For this style of card I love to use Versafine Onyx Black ink. It is a pigment ink that consistently produces crisp, stamped images. I coloured a few…

Hello everyone! Β It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share a quick and easy technique you can use with your stamped images. It all started with some TombowΒ Dual Brush pens and a really pretty Impression Obsession stamp. I used a Clearsnap black pigment ink and stamped onto Canadian Scrapbooker superstock, which is a nice heavy weight to stand up to this wet technique. Then I slowed right down and coloured in the lines. After making a Mother’s Day card with this pretty coloured image, I decided to try something different. I thought, hey, let’s try a watercolour effect because these wonderful Tombow pens are water based and blendable. So I basically scribbled colours all over this stamped image, not worrying about staying in the lines and then spritzed it all over with water. And it’s that easy! Just let dry or use your heat gun to speed up the process. I made…

β€œTechnique Taster’s” are a quick fun class that Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine offers at different events across the country. In 20 minutes we like toshare with you some of our very favourite ideas, tools, toys, stamps, ink, paint and more. The Technique Taster’s may be short in time but they areβ€œtall” in inspiration. Β For my part in the Technique Taster at Scrapfest in Kitchener (GOING ON RIGHT NOW) we will be creating one of these tags with in the Canadian Scrapbooker booth. Β  Β  Β I know we will have tons of fun as we take Canadian Scrapbooker β€œwhite Super Stock” tag and turn it into a β€œtag to remember”, using the Cathie Allan, Position-It, pigment ink, masking and smearing techniques that are easy and fun. Those of you who have stamped β€œa while” and those of you who are just beginning to explore the β€œfun ink filled” world of stamping will…

Hi all, I look at this picture and I see my daughter’s energy explode off the paper. I see fun. I see beauty. I see youth. Most certainly, I see happy. And that was the inspiration for my layout this month. I started out with a 12×12 sheet of the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Paper by Stampin’ Up! It has a glossy resist pattern that I thought could be fun. (Side note: This is one of the exclusive Sale-a-bration products that can be yours with a $60 order) In my typical lazy style, I decided to β€œsee what happen” I squeezed some refill ink over the paper. Yes, it did go through the paper because I didn’t want to apply a layer of gesso over top of the glossy resist… it certainly wasn’t my smartest idea. After I realized that this wasn’t going to work without watercolour paper, I grabbed a…

Hello Everyone!Β  It’s Kelly here today to share with you a Christmas card I designed using beautiful FabScraps papers.Β  Have you made any cards this year?Β  I don’t know how it’s already December, and I have been trying to finish off a few more cards. The hanging ornaments are FabScraps chipboard that I altered with a FabScraps stencil and Viva DΓ©cor Ferro, which is like a grainy molding paste with a metallic finish. I first painted the chipboard ornaments with white gesso. Then I used this FabScraps stencil and applied the Viva DΓ©cor Ferro with a palette knife. When you lift off the stencil, you see a really cool 3D metallic pattern. Just let dry for a few minutes. It dries very quickly! Using May Arts ribbon, I finished off the ornaments and card. This will be my last post until the new year….so even though it’s early, I wish…

Yummy Bo Bunny neutrals and Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir Bendable Pencils! Materials: Bo Bunny patterned papers, stickers, flowers, wood embellishments and jewels, Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir pencils, and blender marker, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Β Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir pencils are so creamy and rich that they make them the perfect way to add colour to these beautiful Bo Bunny papers. I used them under my embellishments to create a beautiful peek-a-boo of warm colour. Β I started by drawing a line where the edge of my photo will be and then colouring in areas around it. Β I ran out of blending solution for the pencils, but in the pinch I discovered something fantastic!!! I used my blending Spectrum Noir Marker to polish and blend my colouring. Β This makes it look like water colours, but without the bubbling and wetness of traditional water colour pencils. So the next time you want a…
