Hey everyone! Kim here with a fun little product share! When we were at Creativation, with the Creative Scrapbooker Team, in January, we saw this neat flower making tool called Fablossom. This product was being demonstrated with fabric and my first thought was ‘I wonder if it would easily work with paper?”, a few steps down their booth they had the paper version! SWEET! The kit itself comes with everything you need to make plenty of different flowers, The instructions are very easy to follow, once you get a handle of the paper folding you are good to go! They include lots of all parts required to put the flower together, as well as a punch to create your own centers! I immediately thought of all the paper I have on hand at any given time and figured I can cut circles to make this work with my own product!…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today.  I never thought I would be a football mom, but my youngest son decided to play football when he was 14, so here I am.  I’m still learning about the game, but I’m now a proud football fan with a million football photos.  Fortunately, Simple Stories has a Football Collection kit with some beautiful themed patterned papers and stickers. Besides football, Simple Stories has other themed collections available, so if you are a baseball, basketball, soccer, cheer, or dance mom, be sure to check them out. I wanted a big football to embellish the layout, so I downloaded a free dingbat from a font called ‘Balls, Balls and More Balls’ and printed an extra large football onto a piece of white cardstock.  I cut it out and then adhered it with foam adhesive by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to give it some extra dimension. There is…

Hello everyone! Kim here, sharing a few of my favourite supplies! This was originally going to be a share of my take on the March Sketchy Challenge, a fantastic story line design with spots for lots of pictures! As you will soon see…I failed the sketch but love my finished layout! That is the joy of a sketch though, it can be a literal design to follow…or simply a starting place for your creative mind! So, I have this little obsession lately with all things Wild Whisper Design. Each and every one of their collections to date pulls me in…hook, line and sinker! I love the colours, the images, the quality and I admit to having a little Canadian pride for this small company! For my layout, I used their recent collection, Wild Whimsy! It was perfect for my sea turtle pictures and the mermaid, though so trendy right now,…

When I travel I like to document my thoughts, experiences and days in a journal. When I have a bit more time (or my husband needs a nap) I like to draw and record the colours and patterns around me too.  Kelly Klapstein’s new products were made for hand lettering but the minute I got my hands on them I knew they’d be great for using as a journal. Traveler’s journals are all the rage right now and Kelly’s journals and juicy pens are definitely going into my suitcase.   If you do a bit of prep before you leave you can have fun making water color backgrounds to add more interest to your documentation.   Here’s how I created my journal:  1]   I prepped my journal page by spreading gesso with an old hotel room key (a loyalty card would work too).  It doesn’t have to be smooth, actually a…

March, in like a lion, out like a…. LION???? I don’t remember being prepared for this scenario in grade school! Is anyone else, just “pooped” with winter? On this Good Friday, let’s think of REbirth, REnewal, REcharge, REst and REjoice! Let’s all happily move onto April and all things SPRING! Move along March…we’RE done with you! That’s a whole lot of “RE’s”!! [Definition of re- in English: re- PREFIX  /  1-once more; afresh; anew] Which leads us to this wonderful picture that Andrea Bjork, from Jamestown, NY, sent to us, sharing where she cREates! A room for Bible journaling seems perfect for this Easter weekend! We converted a small bedroom into my office and it has become quite a haven for me!  It is where I do all of my Bible Journaling. Submit your photos! We continue to always be looking for your submissions! Don’t be shy; send them along! Have you…

Hello Friday and hello to Christine Beaudry of North Bay, Ontario! Her creative space will be the first we share in 2018 for our WHERE YOU CREATE feature. A BUSY START TO OUR YEAR Our blog and team has been busy with Christmas give-aways, Boxing Day give-aways and our HUGE Creativation give-away. It always amazes me how quickly the months go by on our Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog! As are thoughts lean towards all things spring, despite winter still showing us who’s in charge, Christine’s scrapbooking room will have you thing Springtime in Paris. We love her clean, bright and organized space. FROM CHRISTINE Hi Kim, Here is the space where I create! I dream of going to Paris one day, so the decor is Paris themed. I love organizing my supplies, mostly in the open, so I can see what I have and be inspired by a certain element…

Brrrrrr! January 2108 has arrived!  We are in a deep freeze once again here in Alberta; however, weather has been crazy all over! Storm “bombs” to the east, freezing rain and mudslides in California! Mother Nature always lets us know who really is in control! FILL MY IN-BOX! On the bright side, our days are slowly getting brighter in the Northern hemisphere, which means more light each day, which means more available light for picture taking! We are getting ready to resume our 2018 WHERE YOU CREATE blog posts and I need you to FILL my in-box with your photos and write-ups about your creative spaces! Send your emails to me at: kim@creativescrapbooker.ca WHY SHARE? Last year we had a wonderful array of spaces to share! Each and every one offered ideas to decorate and organize our spaces. From big to small, your spaces ROCK! As Creative Scrapbookers it is important to…

Kim here today with a twist on our WHERE YOU CREATE feature. It’s time to get organized on the move! Let’s go to a retreat! I tried desperately to post this feature last weekend while at a retreat; but alas I failed! The wifi at our retreat was at best unreliable and well honestly, my brain was squirrelling every minute into conversations and laughs with the wonderful group of people I was spending my time with! Trust me…there are way worse evils in the world than what was my dilemma! BIG PHOTO SHARE So today, we will have a big photo share. A share of how “my peeps” pack and lug all of their scrapbooking supplies to a retreat. THIS is real life! Some are very organized, some are very random and some…well, bring everything but the kitchen sink! I “hang” with some incredibly talented people, so I figure if…

Here we are…the last Friday of November, and possibly  our last WHERE YOU CREATE for 2017! As the days get shorter, our lives seem to get busier! Every year at this time our submissions for Where You Create dwindle and then they pick up again in the New Year. It coincides with busy times for us too…we are already gearing up for our annual 12 Days of Giving starting December 12t [so much fun!] and CHA is in January where so many new and marvelous products will be revealed; we just can’t wait! We promise to keep you entertained with lots of fun blog posts until we revisit WHERE YOU CREATE in 2018! RIBBON STORAGE IDEA Last week I received a short email from Nancy Nickel of The Nickel Nook. She shared a photo of a wonderful ribbon storage idea that she thought would be fun to share with our…

This week I was able to find a bit of time to “play” in my craft room. It really is a space in my home that makes me happy. Sometimes after a busy day, I’ll just go in, sit and shuffle through my supplies. I can feel the stress of the day slowly melt away, the shuffling, touching and doodling have become an important part of my creative process. For most of my adult life, I have been fortunate enough to have a corner or room dedicated to crafting. This week Susan Sturgis is letting us peek into her craft room. I can only imagine her delight at having a dedicated scrapbooking space after raising eight [8!] children! An extra room! For the first time in my married life, I have an extra room.  I am the mother of eight, wonderful children who have occupied all the bedrooms until April…
