In the Winter 2015/16 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Christy Riopel celebrated our 10 year anniversary with her TOP TEN MUST HAVE TOOLS! Christy picked 10 tools that she felt she could simply NOT live without. The Punch Some of the tools in this article that she featured, were everyday basic punches. Punches come in all shapes and in all different sizes. There are so many different varieties on the market today allowing you to punch out shapes from monkeys to Christmas trees. Christy was mostly drawn to basic shapes rather than punches with a more limiting shape. She always had a circle punch and a square punch on hand in her favourite sizes. #RememberingChristy – Playing With FabScraps

Christy Riopel designed the following layout featuring FabScraps for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog approximately 4 years ago. The line of patterned paper and chipboard from FabScraps no longer exists however the beauty of the design is timeless. Here is the post …. as written in her words…. “I wanted my layout to hint towards the military nature of the Museum so I cut pennant flags from FabScraps patterned paper and arranged them like a soldiers medals. I curled the paper with my fingers to add dimension to the page. A Wintery Layout with Close to my Heart

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout inspired by the monochromatic days of a northern Alberta winter. I used black and white because that’s pretty much the only colours I see right now when I look outside. Sigh. But soon the days will get longer and it won’t be long before the snow melts and the grass turns green again. Yes, I am an eternal optimist. I made myself a triangle template out of a scrap of paper and used it to cut the patterned paper and photos into large triangles which form the basis of the layout. The paper is the Uptown Fundamentals line from Close to My Heart. This paper (and other matching products) are a gorgeous and versatile black, white and gold colour and is available from the Annual Inspirations Catalogue from CTMH. I used the Framework Alphabet Acrylic Stamps to stamp the title and the paper…
