Ever complete a project that when you look at as a completed item, you wonder what took you so long to create it? Thatβs exactly what I thought when I was finished this tag! I didnβt realize that it would be such a complicated tag when I started, so I didnβt take photos along the way. But I would like to give a little explanation for some of the things I did to create this tag. Supplies Used- Dies and Embossing folder: Sizzix; Inks and Embossing Powder: Clearsnap ColorBox; Patterned Paper: Prima Marketing; Ribbon: May Arts; Metal Leaf; Lβadore Β The background: I embossed some white cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder, then sprayed it with some Clearsnap ColorBox Spritz Spray (spun sugar). Then I used my brayer to apply some pigment ink over top (Clearsnap ColorBox Old Rose) and heat embossed it. Then I adhered it to a piece…
Hello everyone!Β It’s Kelly Klapstein here to share with you my new double layout sketch and design for the Winter 2015 page call!Β Don’t hate me for saying the word, “Winter!” ha ha I fell in love with the new BoBunny “Sweet Life” collection and knewΒ it would look perfect with some photos of my youngest daughter. I fussy cut some of theΒ beautiful flowers and butterflies from the Bobunny patterned paper as embellishments. Those otherΒ pretty flowers are Bobunny too, but I felt they were a little too dark for my layout, so I took out some Clearsnap Colorbox Chalk ink in a white colour called “Popcorn”Β and altered theΒ dark redΒ flowersΒ so they were lighter.Β The gold pearls in the flower centres are BoBunny Jewels. See those pretty doilies tucked behind my photos? I used the BoBunny Lace Stickable Stencil and Pastel Pink Colorbox Chalk ink to make them! I had never used these…

Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! Happy Β DAY AFTER St. Patrickβs Day!!!! To honor the 25% of my genetic makeup that is Irish, I decided to create a St. Patrickβs day layout for the blog. But because I am the curious sort, I had to find out why this day dedicated to leprechaun tricks and green beer even exists. Turns out St. Patrick was a 5th century fellow who had some rather interesting adventures! British by birth, he was captured by pirates and sent to Ireland as a slave. Good fortune smiled on him, and he escaped 6 years later, after hearing voices tell him a ship was waiting to take him home. He became a cleric like his father and grandfather before him and returned to Ireland to minister to the people there. I guess they loved that because he was made a saint and he is celebrated with some solemnity there.…
Just a quick share for you today. I have been working with Sue’s February Sketchy ChallengeΒ and stayed fairly true to the design, but always try to add my own spin to them. The papers I used are from BoBunny’s “Souvenir Collection”, it has one sheet that is an entire alphabet; from that sheet I fussy cut the title “WINE”. I inked up a few stencils with Clearsnap FluidΒ Chalk inks and painted the Magenta Chipboard “gears” with Viva DΓ©cor Inka Gold paint. The uneven borders are hand drawn and Zentangled with a Sharpie marker. Be sure to share how you use the sketch in our gallery!
Hello everyone!Β Today is my turn to share some scrap happiness with you.Β As usual, the weather was cold and snowy last weekend, so I sat down with the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge for February and came up with this layout: Here is Sue Sykes’ February 2015 sketch: This is the first winter in a very, very long time….since my kids were little and playing outdoors a lot…that I have gone outside.Β And it’s all because of our pup Finn, who is fanatical about snow and is always too hot inside.Β Finn takes me on walks at least twice a day, every single day.Β I still can’t believe it myself!Β I’m even enjoying it. I just LOVE the colours in this year’s winter collection from BoBunny.Β Altitude has fabulous patterns and stickers! I cut the title from a piece of patterned paper and made it into a banner: My journaling is…
Welcome to the Bo Bunny booth, one of our favourite stops at the Craft & Hobby Tradeshow! BoBunny was showing off theirΒ 5 new fantastic paper collections. First up… Safari! Perfect for your Zoo, Animal and Wild themed layouts. We all went “Ooooooo” over the feminine and romantic “Garden Journal” with its soft pastel colours. Another pretty set of papers is the Sweet Life collection, with some butterfly patterns that will make you think that Spring is on the way. For a fresh, fun and funky look, you will love the #ForeverYoung collection with its bright, happy colour palette. BoBunny has produced lots of variety with its releases, and its Heritage collection is reminiscent of geneaology and family trees, with lovely dark rich jewel tones and a vintage style. And now for something completely different….it’s Carnival! Bring on the popcorn, candy and elephant rides! Lots of wonderful projects designed with these…
Today on our blog we welcome Nadine Wachter, who is sharing some fabulous Bo Bunny Christmas cards! Happy Monday Canadian Scrapbookers! I am Nadine Wachter, and I am so grateful to be here guest blogging today. My busiest time is the Christmas season, and I can often be found buried in patterned paper. The cards that I am sharing with you today were created as a card class for Treasured Memories. The great thing about all my classes is that I also turn them into take home kits. If youβre not able to attend class you donβt have to worry about missing out. The kits come with all the product, photos & instructions that you would need to create the cards in the samples. The other great thing isΒ the staff will mail the kits out to you. No one gets left out. (Not to toot my own horn, but I…
