It has been 4 days since another season of The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnivals have come to an end AND I am still overwhelmed by how absolutely amazing the events turned out – THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! This year Edmonton and Calgary raised over 3000.00$ for The Christy Riopel Art Scholarship – THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! This is so incredible – I seriously am overwhelmed by the out pouring of support from all of you! THANK YOU THANK YOU ! Christy’s husband, Mike Riopel, sent us a personal note of gratitude to extend to all of you that participated. He was also overwhelmed with all your generosity. The scholarship is intended to be given out to children who wish to pursue their love of art and who need it the most. This year the theme for our carnival is Canada 150. The Edmonton croppers last weekend had a hoot dressing up in all kinds of Canadian themed apparel. This wonderful group of women always amaze us with the costumes they come up with each and every year. This year – they once again did not disappoint – their costumes paid tribute to 150 years of Canadian fashion. So incredibly awesome!!! We are so lucky to once again have the very talented and world famous hand lettering guru – Kelly Klapstein – teaching watercolour lettering at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnvial in Edmonton in just a few short days. Kelly is an instagram sensation, with just over 539K followers she is one of the most followed celebrities in the hand lettering world!!! WOWZERS!!!!! The reason for Kelly’s success is undoubtedly her classically stunning hand lettering, her easy to follow tips and techniques, her beautiful yet simple videos AND her persistency that anyone can hand letter.
