Hi everyone, Kim here today. I just finished working on a layout using October 2016, sketchy challenge. If my memory is good…that means I have used every sketch from 2016! Bring on 12 more for 2017! I LOVE them. Here is October’s sketch; my starting point. My completed layout below makes me smile, I love the Simple Stories product I used…It’s whimsical and sweet. My layout started like many of mine do, on a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s Superstock. I love to build up from the basics and seem to be drawn to the contrast the white gives me when playing with other products! My first layer was created using a TCW stencil and Clearsnap’s Colorbox chalk inks. From there, I positioned my picture. I will usually just add adhesive to the center back of my photo leaving the edges free to slip embellishments under. I added several little…
Cathie Allan here. I just wanted to share a little of my “Christmas Stair Art” with you. I have been creating “Stair Art” with my rubber stamps for many years. I started creating these on 6X6 blocks of wood. I would use my stamps and acrylic paint to create them and I place them in the corners of my stairs. These have always made me smile. Last year I started creating them with Superstock, which I fortify and now they are “so much faster” to create. No prepping of the wood. No waiting for sealer to dry and they look AWESOME. I am sharing a couple of the “older, on the wooden block” ones that I made in previous years (if you look real close you can see that these were done in 1997)and the one that I created this year. This year’s is all done with Impression Obsession Stamps,…

Kim here with a cute card share before I drop it in the mail! It’s no secret among our team that I love Heartfelt Creations Under the Sea collection! The colours, the stamps and dies speak to my love of all things ocean. Here’s a quick card I put together for my Aunt’s upcoming birthday using patterned paper and dies from the collection and some Core’dinations cardstock. So many different products were used to pull the card together, let me share them in a few detail shots. I have used Clearsnap’s Smooch and Top Boss to add colour and a bit more depth to the flower. Jackie showed you this technique recently in a CSM Live on Facebook (Oct. 12/2016). I couldn’t’ resist adding some Ranger Stickles to the Seahorse and fish fins for some added sparkle and iridescence. And one of my favourite things to add to my projects lately…irRESISTable…

“Faux Watercolor Stamping Bliss” ideas for Christmas. Hello everyone – Cathie Allan here! One of my classes this year is a wonderful, flexible class called “Faux Watercolor Stamping Bliss”. To achieve the watercolor look for this project we did not even use water. The result was a page and a tag/card that did not warp or heave and we did not have to use a bucket of mediums to create it. I love using my mediums in unique ways, allowing them to multitask for me and mimic other products. The projects that we complete in the class looked like this …. A wonderful masculine page and great “guy” card. Well for this blog post I took those same techniques, changed the colors, changed the stamps and stencils, changed the cut of my Super Stock and came up with some very “timely” Christmas ideas. So for those of you who took…
