Ever complete a project that when you look at as a completed item, you wonder what took you so long to create it? Thatβs exactly what I thought when I was finished this tag! I didnβt realize that it would be such a complicated tag when I started, so I didnβt take photos along the way. But I would like to give a little explanation for some of the things I did to create this tag. Supplies Used- Dies and Embossing folder: Sizzix; Inks and Embossing Powder: Clearsnap ColorBox; Patterned Paper: Prima Marketing; Ribbon: May Arts; Metal Leaf; Lβadore Β The background: I embossed some white cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder, then sprayed it with some Clearsnap ColorBox Spritz Spray (spun sugar). Then I used my brayer to apply some pigment ink over top (Clearsnap ColorBox Old Rose) and heat embossed it. Then I adhered it to a piece…
Kim here from my super-HOT scrapbooking room! [Note to self: when the furnace diesβ¦air conditioning goes in at the same time as the new furnace!] Tomorrow we celebrate Canada Day from East to West and in between! Our big, beautiful country is so worthy of its 148th celebration! I felt it appropriate to create a scrapbook page in honour of Canada! As I mentionedβ¦it is hot in my house! I scrapbook on the upper level of our house & hot air rises! I had a hard time staying focused in the heat, so my layout is pretty simpleβ¦quick to put together! I started by using Coreβdinations cardstock for my base& mat. I cut the SIZZIX maple leaf for my Canada flag. I used DCWV cork sheets for the red components of the flagβ¦I love the texture! For the center of the flag I printed out the lyrics of the Canadian…

by Connie Nichol Hereβs my take on the September 2014 sketch from Canadian Scrapbookerβs Itβs a Sketchy Challenge. Yes, there`s pink on here and it`s a boy layout. I used a great paper stack from DCWV, Vintage Collector and two of the supporting matching smaller stacks. I love the variety of colours and patterns in this stack. Hereβs the September sketch. I actually followed it pretty closely this time around.Β Instead of eight squares, I put in eight paper bottle caps punched from a sheet of the DCWV paper.Β I found that a 1 Β½β scallop punch was the perfect size and added a bottle cap like edge. I also cut the other embellishments out of the paper stacks and used my favourite brown Clearsnap Fluid Chalk ink, stylus and white foam tip for edging and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3LΒ 3D Foam SquaresΒ to add a little dimension. These little touches…
Hello everyone! I wanted to share a quick idea with you today to pretty up your gift giving ideas, especially since there are 85 days left till Christmas! Supplies used: Β Paper MΓ’chΓ© mini hat box (Michael’s); Die Cuts With a View burlap paper; Tim Holtz vintage button; Maya Road trinket pins; Β Sookwang double sided tape; scraps of felt and ribbon, hot glue gun. To create the burlap flower, I traced around a small cup and cut 4 circles out of the DCWV burlap paper. Β I then folded each circle in half and then quarters and attached them to a circle cut from the double sided tape, with their points meeting in the middle. Β Using a strong wet adhesive, I attached a vintage button to the centre and ruffled the edges of the petals to distress them a bit. The felt flowers are very simple as well: Β Cut a strip of…
Good Monday morning everyone! Connie Nichol here with a blog post featuring Sizzix Elegant Flourishes Bigz die, DCWV Coral Couture Paper Stack, Clearsnap Ink and Embossing Powder I am slowly scanning my dadβs 35 mm slides from my childhood, wanting to scrapbook them while I can still remember some of the details, or at least verify them with my parents.Β The colours and patterns seem to go perfectly with my pictures from the 1970βs and I love that there is a matching cardstock stack. I find the DCWV paper to be so gorgeous that it pretty much stands alone without much embellishment.Β So, I left the layout very simple, just adding a bit of fussy cutting and some metallic chipboard flourishes. The flourishes were just the perfect touch for this patterned paper.Β I used the Elegant Flourishes die to die cut some Grafix Chipboard.Β Since it is a Sizzix Bigz…
