Hello everyone! Β It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share a quick and easy technique you can use with your stamped images. It all started with some TombowΒ Dual Brush pens and a really pretty Impression Obsession stamp. I used a Clearsnap black pigment ink and stamped onto Canadian Scrapbooker superstock, which is a nice heavy weight to stand up to this wet technique. Then I slowed right down and coloured in the lines. After making a Mother’s Day card with this pretty coloured image, I decided to try something different. I thought, hey, let’s try a watercolour effect because these wonderful Tombow pens are water based and blendable. So I basically scribbled colours all over this stamped image, not worrying about staying in the lines and then spritzed it all over with water. And it’s that easy! Just let dry or use your heat gun to speed up the process. I made…

When to stop and when not to? by Christy Riopel January always makes me a little introspective and I tend to scrapbook more interpersonal stuff this time of year. I created this layout about dealing with the old(er) girl in the mirror these days. SUPPLIES: FabScraps pattened paper and chipboard, Aladine Izink inksΒ distributed byΒ Clearsnap, May Arts ribbon, Impression Obsession stamps, ColorBox Surfacez ink by Clearsnap, Spellbinders dies and Grand Calibur die cutting machine, Dymo Label Maker, Ranger Industries gel pen, Beacon Adhesives. It ended up being an exploration in not just one hard question ( when did I get this old?) but in another unrelated question I often face….. When do I stop? When is enough on a layout? Here is a picture of what It looked like when I first thought it was done. Β  Β Not that I was unhappy with it but I just felt it needed more.…

I am drawn to books like a thirsty traveler to an oasis. I read every night before bed and if I can’t for some reason, I have a difficult time settling into sleep.Β  I love the tactile feel of the pages and have not yet adapted to digital formats like my husband.Β  I love the look of text flowing across a page and disappearing into another time and place. It took several years of marriage before I could convince my husband that when I was reading, I was β€˜doing something’ and that he did not need to leap to my rescue by pointing out other entertainments or β€˜things to do.” I come by it honestly. My mom is a reader and in fact has a couple of rooms in her house filled with books. I remember her getting a box of books every month from some far off library, and…

All of you stamping fans are going to LOVEΒ visitingΒ the Impression Obsession booth! Stamps and dies….as far as the eye can see! I especially loved how this booth was organized…. all the stamps and projects in groups with the designers’ names. There were so many beautiful card samples and projects as well to showcase all the stamps! Many displays featured a Valentine theme. Even Easter stamps were on display! There are so many background stamps to choose from, aptly titled “Cover A Card.” Don’t you love the square shape? Samples of these background stamps were mounted on boards with inks of many colours. Samples of die cuts were also on boards for display. Not only do you have an amazing choice of countless stamps, you also have an incredibleΒ bunch of dies to add to your shopping list!Β  To see the full line of Impression Obsession products, click HERE to visit…

Everyday Memories I NEED For My Lifetime! by Cathie Allan I LOVE INK …..Β  I LOVE INK .. .I β€œsimply” LOVE INK! And, YES pigment ink is one of my favorite types of ink. β€œWhy?” you ask. Beyond the fact that it is the most lightfast, most archival ink on the market … it is just so darn versatile. I can use it in so many applications that the variety of techniques that I am able to accomplish using pigment ink seems virtually endless. Do I use it for β€œsimple” stamping … yes. Do I use if for embossing …. Yes. Do I use it when I want colors to blend seamlessly … oh, yes! Do I use it for stenciling … uh, huh. Do I use it for resist … abso stamping lutely. Can I turn it’s ability for staying wet longer into a β€œsmear your art…
