βFaux Watercolor Stamping Blissβ ideas for Christmas. Hello everyone β Cathie Allan here! One of my classes this year is a wonderful, flexible class called βFaux Watercolor Stamping Blissβ.Β To achieve the watercolor look for this project we did not even use water. Β The result was a page and a tag/card that did not warp or heave and we did not have to use a bucket of mediums to create it. Β I love using my mediums in unique ways, allowing them to multitask for me and mimic other products. The projects that we complete in the class looked like this β¦. A wonderful masculine page and great βguyβ card. Well for this blog post I took those same techniques, changed the colors, changed the stamps and stencils, changed the cut of my Super Stock and came up with some very βtimelyβ Christmas ideas.Β So for those of you who took…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a fall layout featuring some gorgeous Momenta textured cardstock that has a dreamy water colour look. The cardstock comes in an 8×8 paper pad with three sheets of each design. Β The colours will go with almost everything. I put two of the 8×8 cardstock sheets in opposite corners on a sheet of 12×12 cardstock and then filled in the corners with some shimmery Art-C paint and a self adhesive stencil. Β Because hey, who doesn’t like to play with shimmery paint? Β This stuff is gorgeous. Β And the colour stops my heart. I filled in what was left of the gap between the stenciled paint and the cardstock with a piece of May Arts gingham ribbon, and then mounted my photograph. Β (P.S. By the way, especially for Canadians, I had this 8×8Β photoΒ enlargement printed at www.blacks.ca for 99 cents on a sale last month. Β I am super…
Hello! Kim here with a cute, quick all-occasion card. I like making all-occasion cards because itβs simple to pull out and use for whatever event requires a card. I can always stamp a sentiment on the inside at a later date, as needed. For this card I used one stamp! This adorable flower cluster from Impression Obsession. I love it! I also used Susan Weckesser βcolor POP miniβ inks fromΒ Clearsnap. One stamp, three inks! The base of my card is done by stamping a diagonal floral line. I stamped the ink off twice before using the third impression. This gave me a very nice gray, recessed background. On a scrap piece of CSM Super Stock I stamped three images in black ink. I pressed my coloured ink pads down on a non-stick surface and used the ink plus water brush to colour the images. I βfussy cutβ my flowers and…

Stamping with your Dies by Cathie Allan Mediums and tools that multi-task always have a special place in my creative heart. I totally enjoy looking at my creative tools, toys and mediums from various sides to see what I can get them to do for me other than the βintended useβ suggested by the manufacturer. For this blog post I decided to play with the βHeart Clasp Dieβ from Art Impressions. This die makes a lovely wrap for a card but by joining two of these dies I was able to wrap my scrapbook page and then of course wrapped my photo. I then took this die a βstamp stepβ forward by applying ink to the backside of the die I thus was able to use it as a stamp. Look at that die βgoβ!! To begin I made the Art Impressions, βHeart Clasp Dieβ perform as a stamp. Apply…
Hi everyone!Β It’s Kelly Klapstein here to share my layout based on our March Sketchy challenge. Here is the sketch: I used the gorgeous paper collection called “Soiree” by BoBunny. These papers are perfect for my daughter’s photo because she adores all things vintage and retro. I used my Brother ScanNCut to create the title, including the hand lettered ‘Hello,’Β which is a cut file I designed myself. I also outlined the “Sweet Sixteen” with a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen. This dimensional flower with leaves is from the ScanNCut machine library of images. And the banner is an Impression Obsession stamp that was scanned and cut with the ScanNCut also…. no fussy cutting! I coloured the banners with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Did you know the ScanNCut also has the ability to draw designs?Β I used the drawing pens feature for the journaling. That little brown gingham…
Hello again! Itβs Kim here with my take on the February Sketch designed by Kelly Klapstein. I was inspired to rotate the sketch as shown and from there just started to play until I felt I was done! I love how it turned out, though my husband doesnβt see any similarity to the sketchβ¦LOL! The papers and embellishments are from Bo Bunnyβs Believe collection. I was hesitant at first to get this collection of papers, as I wasn’t sure if the theme would work for my style of scrapbooking. Β Once I opened up the papers, stickers and die cuts I was pleased to find LOTS that I was comfortable working withβ¦I love the colours and whimsy so much. The products that donβt βworkβ for me will easily be altered and adapted for my needs.Β So many inspirational sayings and thoughts, I can’t wait to play with this paper collection again. I…
Watercolour is a hot trend right now that is seen everywhere in the crafting world, on our scrapbook pages, cards, and other projects. Sakura has wonderful, portable and affordable palettes that are perfect to bring along whether you’re going to the countryside, relaxing at the beach, or walking urban landscapes. These are called their Koi Watercolors Pocket Field Sketch Box. I also use this watercolour kit at home. There are 12-, 18- Β 24 and 30 color travel palette kits that include a refillable water brush and dabbing sponges. You can purchase 4X6″ watercolour paper pads or cut down larger sizes of watercolour paper if you are going to travel. To make this Easter card, I first used Clearsnap Ink and embossing powder to stamp and heat emboss this beautiful floral stamp from Impression Obsession. I stamped onto Bristol paper, which I find works well with both stamping and watercolour mediums.…
