If you are looking for a product that you can use in “assorted ways” – a product you can stamp with, emboss with, do resist techniques, use to add color to an image with instead of markers, use with stencils and more – a product that you can happily create with, that is the most lightfast of all the stamping mediums out there and allows you to work from light color to dark color and back to light again. By now I am guessing you know I am referring to pigment ink. It tends to be my “go to medium” because it is simply so versatile AND then instead of buying more & more & more product I can happily buy more stamps and more stencils (yes, I may have a few of these) to entertain my “creative urges”. Lately I have been using my pigment ink to create watercolor looks.…

Hello everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share a quick and easy technique you can use with your stamped images. It all started with some Tombow Dual Brush pens and a really pretty Impression Obsession stamp. I used a Clearsnap black pigment ink and stamped onto Canadian Scrapbooker superstock, which is a nice heavy weight to stand up to this wet technique. Then I slowed right down and coloured in the lines. After making a Mother’s Day card with this pretty coloured image, I decided to try something different. I thought, hey, let’s try a watercolour effect because these wonderful Tombow pens are water based and blendable. So I basically scribbled colours all over this stamped image, not worrying about staying in the lines and then spritzed it all over with water. And it’s that easy! Just let dry or use your heat gun to speed up the process. I made…

“Technique Taster’s” are a quick fun class that Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine offers at different events across the country. In 20 minutes we like toshare with you some of our very favourite ideas, tools, toys, stamps, ink, paint and more. The Technique Taster’s may be short in time but they are“tall” in inspiration.  For my part in the Technique Taster at Scrapfest in Kitchener (GOING ON RIGHT NOW) we will be creating one of these tags with in the Canadian Scrapbooker booth.      I know we will have tons of fun as we take Canadian Scrapbooker “white Super Stock” tag and turn it into a “tag to remember”, using the Cathie Allan, Position-It, pigment ink, masking and smearing techniques that are easy and fun. Those of you who have stamped “a while” and those of you who are just beginning to explore the “fun ink filled” world of stamping will…

When to stop and when not to? by Christy Riopel January always makes me a little introspective and I tend to scrapbook more interpersonal stuff this time of year. I created this layout about dealing with the old(er) girl in the mirror these days. SUPPLIES: FabScraps pattened paper and chipboard, Aladine Izink inks distributed by Clearsnap, May Arts ribbon, Impression Obsession stamps, ColorBox Surfacez ink by Clearsnap, Spellbinders dies and Grand Calibur die cutting machine, Dymo Label Maker, Ranger Industries gel pen, Beacon Adhesives. It ended up being an exploration in not just one hard question ( when did I get this old?) but in another unrelated question I often face….. When do I stop? When is enough on a layout? Here is a picture of what It looked like when I first thought it was done.    Not that I was unhappy with it but I just felt it needed more.…
