Hey! Kim here with a quick layout share using the December Sketchy Challenge as my inspiration. This is a sketch that took me awhile to warm up to. It wasn’t until I started to rotate it and look at photos that I got a feel for how it might work for me. I challenge you to work through a sketch that you don’t love, you may just be surprised with how much you like the end result! My layout uses the most basic of supplies. I almost always have Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s Super Stock somewhere on my layout! I LOVE the weight, smoothness and the beautiful, bright white of this cardstock. I used two types of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; White Permanent and Ultra permanent [I always find I need a stronger grip when I adhere anything to the textured side of Bazzil cardstock – used here as the…
Hi everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to show you a fun way to make quick, pretty watercolour backgrounds for cards and tags. SUPPLIES: Ranger Distress Ink, Kelly Creates Sentiment Stamps, Black permanent ink pad, Stamping block, Watercolor paper, large paintbrush, water, trimmer, adhesive, card stock Step 1: Rub your ink pad across the top of the watercolor paper. Step 2: Add a lot of water to your large brush and ‘paint’ the ink downwards. Dip your brush into more water if needed. Step 3: Let dry completely Step 4: Stamp your sentiment. I chose black ink, but you could use different colors. Step 5: Adhere to a folded cardstock base. This simple technique has limitless watercolour combinations. Use one ink pad or two, or more! Stamp your sentiment for any special occasion or just inspirational words to brighten someone’s day. Breathe. Write. Relax. . Visit Kelly’s website for all…
Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Kim here today with a fun camping inspired layout that I hope you’ll enjoy! I am blessed with a craft room and lots of supplies to choose from. That may sound amazing, but honestly at times I think it stalls my creativity, giving me too many choices. On this particular scrapbooking session, I narrowed down my focus and picked a few products to work with, which in turn forces the other stuff out of the wayThe products I choose to work with were, Echo Park’s Little Lumberjack collection, Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essentials and MultiCraft glitter. I started by adhering 2 sheets of patterned paper together using Glue Dots Adhesive Sheets. Using the die from Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essentials set, I cut out two pages for my layout. I didn’t stress over which directions the tabs would be. They could have been high or low on…
Hello, Connie Nichol here with a couple of cards I created using Stampers Anonymous cling mounted stamps and wooden mat minis designed by Wendy Vecchi. The front door stamp totally captured my imagination – it’s so versatile! You can make it any colour you want, you can stamp it on the wooden mat minis to add dimension, you can decorate it with pots, flowers or anything else you can imagine to make your door welcoming. I was totally feeling a red door decorated with assorted plants so I added some MultiCraft paint and stickers to bring my vision to life. Here’s the stamp set and the coordinating wood veneer mini mats. They are lots of fun. Add one flower pot or many to your front door. The pearlescent paint by Color Factory (a MultiCraft brand) is very pretty with a lovely shimmer and the Forever in Time cactus stickers have…
Hello everyone, Kelly Klapstein here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. In this time of isolation, it is challenging to get together with loved ones. Sending a handmade card to your mother or mother figure is the perfect way to show your love and gratitude. Here is a simple watercolor tulip card you can make in minutes. SUPPLIES: watercolor paper, Kelly Creates Aqua Brush pens or similar water-based brush pens, Black Fineliner or sentiment stamp, water, paintbrush or water brush, ribbon, cardstock. Brush the watercolor ink onto your card to form the tulip in 3 parts: centre, left, and right. Add as many tulips as you like. I did three. With a green Aqua Brush, lightly brush 3 stems in a downward motion. Add leaves with a similar motion and stroke except make them pointy at the tip and wider in the middle. Add a second color to the…
Hehe! Kim Gowdy here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Today I am sharing a layout inspired by the March Sketchy Challenge in April! Although the sketches never have an expiry date, I feel, as part of the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine design team, I should be a little less tardy! Just another example of “real life” getting in the way of scrappy expectations! My layout is not at all complicated and did not stray too far from the original March Sketchy Challenge. Most of my papers and elements are from Simple Stories ~ So Happy Together collection. I did cut an Ali Edwards tag to use as my journaling block. I added some little dimensional elements with Wendy Vecchi Enamel Accents and stylus from Ranger. My journaling is done using Kelly Creates fineliner and I found a very old stamp in my stash for adding the month to my…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a couple of cards featuring the One Hot Chick stamp set from Picket Fence Studios together with beautiful foiled backgrounds created with Therm O Web Deco Foil. Picket Fence Studios has some seriously cute stamp sets. Be sure to go check them out. One of the cutest is the One Hot Chick stamp set, which also happens to have a matching die set, making it easy to create a whole flock of chickens. I stamped a whole bunch of birds and coloured them with Kelly Creates pens. The card backgrounds were created with Therm O Web Deco Foil Products. A touch of foil makes any card look extra special! The top ‘cluck it’ card uses a Foil-Mates card which has been pre-printed with foilable elements. The ‘hot chick’ card uses Deco Foil Transfer Gel, a Stampers Anonymous stencil, and an old dictionary page. I…
