Hello everyone – Kim Gowdy here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Do you know what I LOVE? Sketches! Did you know that Creative Scrapbooker Magazine has a fun Sketchy Challenge every month? That’s 12 sketches a year for as long as I can remember…saved between a NEW and OLD gallery…there’s a lot of inspiration in these galleries! Why 2 galleries? Technology! Hello everyone, Kelly Klapstein from Kelly Creates here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. When I first picked up a brush pen 3 years ago and started to write with it, a calm came over me. That is what I love about hand lettering above all else…I feel centered and present. It’s just me and the tools I need to create on the table in front of me, and my practice becomes a meditative exercise. I have left technology behind. I am not looking at a screen. I feel tremendous joy and satisfaction in watching the ink flow on the paper in a myriad of colours. Even the simple black pen on white paper is incredibly satisfying and beautiful. Mascot Race for Hope Layout – February Sketchy Challenge

Hello! Kim here with a quick layout sharing that was inspired by the Creative Scrapbooker February Sketchy Challenge. I did a very literal take on the sketch; but had so much fun doing it! This silly subject needed bold colours and contrast! Instead of using papers, my back ground was made using Dylusions paint and the Ranger gel plates. I started with piece of Creative Scrapbooker Superstock, this 110lb card-stock can handle the mixed media product! The Ranger gel plates come in four very useable sizes! I took the small rectangle and masked off the area I didn’t want painted. I added my paints, spread with a brayer and made patterns with a Dina Wakey stamp and a Ranger texture tool. My swirls are done with an Art Foamie stamp and white acrylic paint! My bold title and hashtags are done with American Craft Thickers. My journaling was done with…
