I love pretty much all products by Fancy Pants Designs but the Collecting MomentsΒ lineΒ released in the summer of 2013 is one of my favourites.Β Β I find that the colours and patterns are perfect for all sorts of projects – girl layouts, boy layouts, cards – you name it.Β Here’s a layout I did featuring some silly selfie photos I took with my friends Kim and Jackie on a recent trip to Nova Scotia.Β When I look at these pictures, I am instantly transported back to Mavillette Beach and the feeling of that wind!!!Β I used May Arts Ribbon natural burlap string to mimic the energy of the wind…
Imagine, Explore, Play by Jayme Loge I recently got my hands on some new DCWV stacks and fell in love (LOVE!) with the βVintage Collectorβ line. It is perfect for my girly-girl with wild hair and something askew child- pretty with a touch of shabby!. As soon as I saw the papers I knew they would work with some photos we took at the lake. Sketch books in hand, we took a long walk down the weedy beach. The photos are some of my very favorites ever! Β I look at them and I can hear her contentedly humming as she picked flowers, checked out snail shells and danced a story for all creation on an abandoned dock. How I love that girlβ¦ Supplies Used: DCWV patterned paper, May Arts Ribbon, Clearsnap ink and embossing powder, Bazzill Basics cardstock, Sizzix die, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I pulled out some of…
Upcycling Pop Cans to Make Embossed βTin Panelsβ by Christy Riopel I was inspired by old tin ceiling panels when I created this page. I love how they go with the vintage feel of the photo. Supplies: Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper and stickers, Spellbinderβs dies and embossing folders, gesso, Stephanie Barnard for Clearsnap ink sprays, Beacon Adhesives 3in1 glue and Decoupage gloss sealer, Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, marvy gel pen. To make the panels I cut the top and bottom off a pop can and down the side. I then took my Spellbinders embossing folder and embossed the metal from the can. I then painted it with gesso and let it dry. I sprayed it with Stephanie Barnard for Clearsnap Ink sprays and when they were almost dry I sealed them with Beacon Adhesives spray on Decoupage Gloss Sealer. This keeps the colours vibrant. Β I sanded some of…

Β Making a Ribbon Mat for Your Page I love the texture of ribbons and I am always looking for a new way to use it on my page. In this layout I created a mat with pieces of May Arts ribbons. I started with Be CreativeΒ Sookwang double sidedΒ tape,Β a big pile of awesome May Arts ribbon and a piece of scrap chipboard. I then put two strips of tape down each side of the chipboard. I cut several strips of ribbon just a bit longer then the chipboard. I attached the strips to the tape on one side. Wrapped it around the front and then attached it to the other side. I added some sheer ribbons and smaller ribbons over top of the first layer to make it even more textured. My finished mat was then beautiful and ready to attach to my page. Beautiful,…

Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! Kelly here, and I’m really excited to share with you today here on the Canadian Scrapbooker blog.Β One of my favourite lines I enjoy working with is Graphic 45Β They launched their designs in the paper crafting world 4 years ago, and since day one, I have been eager to get my crafty hands on their products.Β Their beautiful patterned papers make a vintage statement, and every new release inspires creativity. Some of the collections I’ve loved in the past six months are “A Ladies Diary,” “Happy Haunting,” “Bird Song,” “Nutcracker Sweet” and the newest calendar line called “Place in Time.” The new calendar line “Place in Time” has so many paper crafting possibilites.Β I decided to design a 12 x 12 calendar album as a birthday present for my mother, using photos of herself from her own scrapbooks. Β In fact, I’m now teaching this album as…
