One of the most colourful booths at CHA was Bazzill Basics Paper, with their incredible rainbow of card stock on display! The theme of the booth was 1950’s, with a red convertible car right on the tradeshow floor and a real jukebox standing nearby. FUN! There were 3 newly released patterned paper collections on display as well. “Vintage Lace” is a pretty pink and green floral palette reminiscent of a country garden. “Worldwide” is perfect for scrapping travel and trips, while “The Adventures Of” is a fun bright collection of retro primary colours with boyish charm. There were wonderful layouts on display. Bazzill Basics Paper is more than just card stock! Click HERE to visit their website and find their full range of products. Last summer, I first attended CHA in Las Vegas and was astonished by the Sizzix booth….the displays, the projects…so much eye candy! This winter tradeshow was the same experience with Sizzix showcasing an incredible and vast assortment of products and crafts. The really cool thing about the Sizzix displays are how artfully the products (dies) are staged with craft projects and overall decor. The new Tim Holtz Alterations dies are wonderful to behold, with a combination of die cutting and embossing paper crafts… There are also an assortment of new border dies and project samples that feature them… …along with the new Bigz dies. That is only the Tim Holtz line! There are wonderful other collections by their other designers. “Susan’s Garden” is an entire line of dies designed to recreate perfect and realistic 3D flowers. I had a nice…
All the way from South Africa, FabScraps always delivers a gorgeous shabby chic display at CHA. This show was no exception. Wow. Their paper crafted dresses on mannequins are simply amazing and showcase their new collections. Just look at the incredible details… Up close… The metal embellishments and zipper edges you see on this particular dress above are from their new line of products, aptly titled “Addictive Scrapping Goodies” Four new collections were debuted at the show, and each set of papers has matching chipboard die cuts. Here is Retro Twist, with a vibrant purple colour palette and fun geometric patterns… Then there is Beachcomber, a nautical theme… Country Living has beautiful feminine floral patterns, along with vintage images of table settings… The French Heritage collection includes some lovely peacock colours and graphics… And of course, there…

Hi everyone! Jodi Wilton here today to share with you a Holiday Layout I made using one of my favourite Dies from Spellbinders & The fun holiday Collection by Simple Stories: December Documented: I used this Spellbinders die set all the time to make banners in different styles; but today I wanted to share a layout using this die in a whole new way! Triangles are a hot new trend on layouts, so I decided to make a pattern with the medium sized pennant (it would work for any size if you wish!). I used the Basics Kit from the Simple Stories collection to create a pattern that ran the length of my page: Next I added some strips of paper, followed by some May Arts ribbon between the strips of paper and photos. I also used some May Arts ribbon as string for my chipboard ornaments. To…
We Were Framed, Honest! Last summer we picked up a big frame from the local thrift shop and drug it around to various places to use in photographs. This is one of our favourites of our daughter and nephew at the lake. SUPPLIES: Pink Paislee patterned paper, stickers and chipboard, Magenta Stamp, Clearsnap ink, The Crafter’s Workshop stencils, Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, May Arts ribbon, white gel pen, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I used the Pink Paislee – Hey Kid collection For the background I used one of our my favourite stamps from Magenta To create the background, I sprayed Clearsnap’s smooch spritz through a couple of The Crafter’s Workshop templates, and then smeared the inky side of the template onto the paper. You can’t see the patterns, but it gave the mottled and messy effect I was looking for. I then used some Chalk ink on Magenta’s dotty…
By Connie Nichol with Fancy Pants Designs, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Beacon Adhesive Supplies: Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper, stickers and wood title, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Beacon Adhesive. I love pretty much all products by Fancy Pants Designs but the Collecting Moments line released in the summer of 2013 is one of my favourites. I find that the colours and patterns are perfect for all sorts of projects – girl layouts, boy layouts, cards – you name it. Here’s a layout I did featuring some silly selfie photos I took with my friends Kim and Jackie on a recent trip to Nova Scotia. When I look at these pictures, I am instantly transported back to Mavillette Beach and the feeling of that wind!!! I used May Arts Ribbon natural burlap string to mimic the energy of the wind…
Imagine, Explore, Play by Jayme Loge I recently got my hands on some new DCWV stacks and fell in love (LOVE!) with the ‘Vintage Collector’ line. It is perfect for my girly-girl with wild hair and something askew child- pretty with a touch of shabby!. As soon as I saw the papers I knew they would work with some photos we took at the lake. Sketch books in hand, we took a long walk down the weedy beach. The photos are some of my very favorites ever! I look at them and I can hear her contentedly humming as she picked flowers, checked out snail shells and danced a story for all creation on an abandoned dock. How I love that girl… Supplies Used: DCWV patterned paper, May Arts Ribbon, Clearsnap ink and embossing powder, Bazzill Basics cardstock, Sizzix die, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I pulled out some of…
Upcycling Pop Cans to Make Embossed “Tin Panels” by Christy Riopel I was inspired by old tin ceiling panels when I created this page. I love how they go with the vintage feel of the photo. Supplies: Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper and stickers, Spellbinder’s dies and embossing folders, gesso, Stephanie Barnard for Clearsnap ink sprays, Beacon Adhesives 3in1 glue and Decoupage gloss sealer, Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, marvy gel pen. To make the panels I cut the top and bottom off a pop can and down the side. I then took my Spellbinders embossing folder and embossed the metal from the can. I then painted it with gesso and let it dry. I sprayed it with Stephanie Barnard for Clearsnap Ink sprays and when they were almost dry I sealed them with Beacon Adhesives spray on Decoupage Gloss Sealer. This keeps the colours vibrant. I sanded some of…
