We have seen pinwheels used in scrapbooking for years. They are an inexpensive and fun way to embellish any page, but I thought it might be fun to use them as photo mats under this group of fun shots of my daughter being silly. To soften the edges of them I brushed them with a little gesso. To add more texture to this page I scraped a texture paste through a Magenta stencil and let it dry. I also punched circles out of the same paper as the pinwheels and brushed them with gesso. Instead of traditional journaling I let this fabulous Magenta stamp do all the talking for me. This Magenta…
Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! Happy DAY AFTER St. Patrick’s Day!!!! To honor the 25% of my genetic makeup that is Irish, I decided to create a St. Patrick’s day layout for the blog. But because I am the curious sort, I had to find out why this day dedicated to leprechaun tricks and green beer even exists. Turns out St. Patrick was a 5th century fellow who had some rather interesting adventures! British by birth, he was captured by pirates and sent to Ireland as a slave. Good fortune smiled on him, and he escaped 6 years later, after hearing voices tell him a ship was waiting to take him home. He became a cleric like his father and grandfather before him and returned to Ireland to minister to the people there. I guess they loved that because he was made a saint and he is celebrated with some solemnity there.…

I love the summer. I’m sure it’s psychological but I tend to be a little more “relaxed”, find myself noticing the small things and revelling in the simplest of pleasures. I also tend to be a little more adventurous… not just the type of adventurous that would find me on the beach in a swimsuit – the creative kind – taking the time to experiment with my supplies and discovering something new about them. Hi everyone! Jodi Wilton here today to show a quick celebration card using Core’dintations ColorCore Cardstock and Sizzix Dies. I love having birthday cards at hand, and by combining the fun bright colours of Spotted by Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock and the fun ice cream die by Sizzix- a fun and fast card can be created! Here is the card that I came up with: The card base was also Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock and then added two layers of patterned paper (Carta Bella). I sewed around each piece of patterned paper for extra detail. Finally I cut out the ice cream pieces and the banner. I added some distress ink in a similar colour to each of the pieces to really bring out the spots on the cardstock. I love submission calls! Often when I am out of creative ideas, a page call is just the thing to spark ideas! For the Spring issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine (PICK YOURS UP TODAY) there is a fun loving article for Tye Dye you won’t want to miss! For the TIE DYE page call, my first thought was how to create the look using products I have. The more I thought of it the more I realized that TIE DYE was more than just a technique, it evoked a feeling. A feeling of free spirit, happy times, freedom and just “chilling” with your friends!
