Hello CSM scrapbookers! Kim here, thanks for dropping by the blog to see what I have been up to! Last September; my hubby and I went to Scotland for a wonderful, two-week holiday. I am still in the process of culling through pictures and scrapbooking some of our adventures. The layout I am sharing today uses the gorgeous “transatlantic TRAVEL” collection by Carta Bella. The paper is such beautiful quality and the collection lent itself well to a travel location so rich in history and well…across the Atlantic Ocean! My layout uses patterned paper, journal cards [cut from a 12×12 sheet], stickers and a quote border all from the same collection. I have added a journaling insert behind the photo mat; this also allows an extra photo to be placed on the back of my journaling. I added a touch of water colour to the part of the map [Scotland/England]…

Because the world needs a little less crazy…lets head into Arlene’s well organized scrapbooking space! Those of you who follow us on Instagram may know her as @omaarlene …she is always sharing her #CSMphotopromtps and we LOVE that she plays along! Hi there! I thought I would share my space. Happy National Scrapbook Day! Kim here with a layout share using products from Wild Whisper Designs, Ranger Inks, Southern Ridge Trading Company and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I loved the ‘Adventure Collection’ from Wild Whisper Designs from the moment I started to see layouts being created with it shared online. It is so well suited for outdoorsy photos! I paired the papers up with some bear photos I had from a few years back! I am really happy with the finished result! I designed and cut my title using my electronic cutting machine and was thrilled that by chance it lined up perfectly with the design of the paper I placed behind for contrast…giving it a bit more visual texture! My journaling was done using a Ranger Ink Dylusions paint pen – you should try them out if you haven’t…I LOVE them! My bear and tree elements are from Southern…
Today on our blog, Cathy Caines shares her tips and techniques for creating 8.5″ x 11″ scrapbook pages. ‘I had been waiting for this. This was the part of the road trip on my old stomping grounds in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. We had pitas and marched down the main road to check out Jane’s thrift shop. Before we left, I took a moment to take in the view. The old mail box in the tall grass with the mud flats in the back ground. It’s funny how nostalgia works. I miss this place. A place I once called home. A place that helped me grow. Where I made mistakes but had great successes. It’s a part of how I came to be.’ My scrapbook albums are now 8.5 x11”. I switched from my 12×12” albums to the smaller size in 2016 for a couple reasons. I personally enjoyed…

Lately I have been feeling un-inspired. I want to be in my craft room but it seems like everything I make, I can’t get quite right. While playing around with the Lift Me Up bundle in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog, I was stamping in black and gold and red… pretty much every colour of the rainbow. And then I finally used silver embossing powder. BAM. That’s all I needed to get the wheels turning. I stamped in silver and then I did some die cuts in silver foil. I was really impressed how the silver foil Up and Away Thinlet die ran through the Big Shot with ease. This particular card has a lightly water coloured background using the tempting turquoise Stampin’ Up! refill ink. This gave it a look as if it was a sky. Many of you know that I die cut and stamp…

In fact, Chameleon pens now has colouring books as well, along with coloring cards too. These innovative pencils are…
The Simple Stories booth is always a fun colourful place to visit. There were 4 new collections on display. Another Disney themed “Say Cheese III” carries on from the previous two lines with a similar colour palette and very popular embellishments, stickers, papers, die cuts, etc. Putting together a Disney album couldn’t be easier! The products from the “Faith” collection can be used for scrapbooking as well as Bible journaling and Off The Page projects. The next collection “Domestic Bliss” has really sweet patterns with a ‘Home Sweet Home’ theme and lends itself well to scrapbooking daily life and moments. The final release “Emoji Love” celebrates our pop culture phenomenon of emojis and all things related to messaging and texting. The humor of the images and patterned papers made us giggle!…
Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and cheerful scrapbook page featuring Close to my Heart products. My kids and I travelled to Germany last summer with friends and had the best time. And took a lot of pictures. Ha! You’ll be seeing a of them as I slowly get them scrapbooked. This layout started with the Happy thin cuts die from CTMH. I coloured the die cut with Chameleon alcohol ink markers and then added three coats of Ranger clear embossing powder to make the words glossy and dimensional. You can see how to do this step by step in the Creative Scrapbooker Technique Taster’s Web Show #105 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NnLYeAYb6A&t=6s It’s easy to do and looks very cool. I used patterned paper from the Close To My Heart Adventure Fundamentals line – so bright and colourful – and coordinating die cuts from the Good Life Fundamentals packet. …
