Hello Creative Scrapbookers! It’s been a while since we shared a creative space! I always find we have a lull over the fall and winter months. The days are shorter and the light not as good for picture taking, this seems to lead to less submissions! It’s also a time that we get busy with our carnivals, holidays and our Big 12 Twelve Days of Christmas give-always! All these things affect what we may be sharing on our blog.Β  Over these months I have collected a few submissions and look forward to sharing some wonderful spaces! Today I am so happy to share Kim Henshaw’s creative space! A big HELLO from Kim Henshaw in Louisa, Virginia! Here are some photos of my scrapbook room.Β  For years, a few ladies would meet every month to scrapbook.Β I had an idea that needed approval from my husband, it meant adding a room! He…

Kim here with a fun project share using the Stampers Anonymous Merry Misfits stamps! Oh, how I LOVE these little guys! They are PERFECT for Christmas tags! The Misfits just make me smile and take a little stress out of the chaos of Christmas! Along with the Misfit stamps, I also used Ranger’s Simon Hurley Classic Flannel stamp, Distress Oxide Inks and a Shifter stencil! These products ALL play so well together! Have fun adding tags to your Christmas gifts this season! Maybe you could wrap up a Creative Scrapbooker Magazine subscription! Now THAT would be a sweet gift to receive!

Welcome autumn! The long days of summer are behind us, the temperatures are cooling, the colours are changing and the scent of pumpkin spice can be smelled from coffee cupsΒ  all around! These are all wonderful parts of the season, but for many it also means more time in our craft rooms or creative corners. It’s the perfect time to share a few WHERE YOU CREATE posts before the busy of the holidays is upon us! I was thrilled to see an email from Dorymar Perez find its way to my inbox. She designs for some of our favourite companies and has a lovely space to share. Let’s take a peek! β€œMy name is Dorymar Perez, currently I design for two scrapbook companies; Simple Stories & Echo Park-Carta Bella and also for My creative Scrapbook Kit Club. In this room I spend many hours having fun and creating. I love…

Good Morning Creative Scrapbookers! It’s a gorgeous day in Alberta, after some not so nice ones! I thought it would be nice to celebrate this beautiful morning with a creative space share from here, in our own stomping grounds! Today’s β€˜Where You Create’ is from Paula Doran, in the lovely community of Sherwood Park. I’m a bit biased because Sherwood Park is my home as well! Paula is sharing a few photos of her beautiful space that has evolved after several years of water damage in her basement! She writes: β€œI have attached β€˜Where I Create’ photos, although this is only about 1/4 of my crafting supplies! [LOL] The rest are in a storage room. I LOVE my space because, from 2010 – 2017 I did not have an area that was inspiring. We had water in our basement. Until we could repair and re-do our basement, I had a…

Hello again! Kim here with another layout share for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine! As our Alberta days shorten and get cooler, I am drawn to the colours of the season but my scrapbooking keeps me into summer vibes just a bit longer! For my layout, I used Simple Stories collection – Hello Summer. It was easy to pull out the patterned paper and embellishments that worked with my photo; a rare family photo opportunity that found my parents, siblings and myself all together! If lobster bibs are part of that moment…so be it! Here I matted my main image on a piece of CSM Superstock and made it larger to accommodate my journaling as well as my photo. I used some barn door Distress Oxide by Ranger, to edge my cardstock with a bit of colour to co-ordinate with the patterned paper. Once I had my basic layout arranged, I…

WHERE YOU CREATE is heading to Oakville, Ontario to check out Connie Evans’ wonderful, bright scrapbooking space! We know you will just LOVE it! Multi-Tasking Family Room Hi Kim, This is the Family room in our house which we turned into my Scrapbook Room. It is also referred to as the Craft Room, the Cat Cave and the Girl Cave. Β Thankfully we have a teenage son who has as much computer gear as I have paper so he uses the Rec Room in the basement. We have moved five times since my hobby started so we’ve designed many scrapbook rooms.Β  When looking for a house it must have craft room space.Β  This room is about 17’ x 10’.Β  There is a lounging area that takes up just over a third of the room just in case my husband or son would like to hang out with me while I’m crafting…

Good Morning, Kim here with a quick sunflower layout share! This layout was very simple to put together using the papers and embellishments from a Vicki Boutin paper kit that was part of a Scrap Shotz kit from last fall [IF my memory is correct!] Sunflowers and photography make me smile, so it’s so important for me to combine the two whenever I can, where ever I can! I was excited to test out my new Deluxe Lettering Kit by Kelly Creates! I used the Black Fine Liners from the kit to do my journaling and add a dot border to the β€œbe fearless” tag! I am not a lettering artist by any means! I am a scrapbooker, card maker and I dabble in mixed media…I can tell you that this lettering kit will be my go to for pens! They are juicy and wonderful…and come in sizes I will…

For those of you new to our blog I would like to welcome you to our regular feature – #RememberingChristy. One and half years ago our dear friend and work colleague, Christy Riopel passed suddenly away. Christy was a huge part of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine for close to 8 years and will forever be apart of our creative souls. On saturdays we celebrate Christy by sharing a project or two that Christy created. Our creative jar filled with her designs is literally endless πŸ™‚ This week we are looking back to the Summer 2015 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. In this issue ChristyΒ designed layouts for her regular Tool Junkie Article, featuring embellishments she created out of polymer clay. Here is one of the creations. Using Polymer Clay to Make Tile Embellishments 1. Brush the embossing folder with cornstarch to keep the clay from sticking. 2. Knead the polymer clay until…

Do you want to know something? It may sound crazy…this will be the LAST Where You Create share before the kids go back to school! Where the heck did summer go? Hoping yours has been as awesome as mine, though I have worked lots, my family managed time for holidays and fun. We must, summers can be short in Alberta, Canada. That being said, I refer to β€œsummer” as the school holidays…we still have lots of time for wonderful weather, be sure to get out and enjoy it! …BUT! While we continue to have lovely day light…get your camera out and snap a few shots of your creative spaces and fill up my email with your WYC submissions! This week we are heading south to Hanover, Pennsylvania, USA! My name is Anita Fordyce and I live in Hanover, PA, which is near Gettysburg. Β I have been scrapbooking for about 20…
