Good Monday morning everyone! Connie Nichol here with a blog post featuring Sizzix Elegant Flourishes Bigz die, DCWV Coral Couture Paper Stack, Clearsnap Ink and Embossing Powder I am slowly scanning my dad’s 35 mm slides from my childhood, wanting to scrapbook them while I can still remember some of the details, or at least verify them with my parents.Β  The colours and patterns seem to go perfectly with my pictures from the 1970’s and I love that there is a matching cardstock stack. I find the DCWV paper to be so gorgeous that it pretty much stands alone without much embellishment.Β  So, I left the layout very simple, just adding a bit of fussy cutting and some metallic chipboard flourishes. The flourishes were just the perfect touch for this patterned paper.Β  I used the Elegant Flourishes die to die cut some Grafix Chipboard.Β  Since it is a Sizzix Bigz…

Summer is almost here and that means Sunglasses…. and no one loves them more than my Ashley. I love scrapbooking day to day photos like this. I used: Β Simple Stories patterned paper, tags, and stickers, Sizzix stamps, dies and embossing folders, Clearsnap Surfacez inks, and Stephanie Barnard Sprays, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I stamped the Sizzix flags onto a Simple Stories card and used the Sizzix co-ordinating dies to cut them out. I love the versatility of this set. I also used a Sizzix embossing folder on two other cards from the same pack and layered them behind my photo to create texture. I love to get as much as I can out of my supplies, so I cut upΒ theΒ border of the Simple Stories alpha sticker sheet into little square stickers and attached them to the page. Happy Summer –Is-Almost-Here Scrapping! To see more of Christy’s work…

Sizzix Frameworks Lattice Die Also featuring Garden Tool Sizzlits, Lil MonstersΒ  by Bo Bunny and Xyron Have you seen the new Frameworks dies from Sizzix?Β Β  Designed by Tim Holtz, they were just released last month in five fabulous patterns.Β  I am especially excited that they are the thick steel rule dies, meaning that in addition to cutting through paper, Β they can also easily cut through all fabric, foam, felt, wood veneer and other non-paper items, giving the frugal or mixed media scrapbooker lots of flexibility! Β Β And you can use the framework die cut itself, or the pieces cut out of the framework die (like the diamonds or hexagons) to mix and match. The Lattice Frameworks remindedΒ  of gardening, so I thought I would combine it with the Garden Tools Sizzlits that I had in my stash. I cut the tools out of a scrap piece of cardstock and then used…

Hi everyone! Jodi Wilton here today to show aΒ quick celebration card using Core’dintationsΒ  ColorCore Cardstock and Sizzix Dies.Β  I love having birthday cards at hand, and by combining the fun bright colours of Spotted by Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock and the fun ice cream die by Sizzix- a fun and fast card can be created!Β  Here is the card that I came up with: The card base was also Core’dinations ColorCore CardstockΒ and then added twoΒ  layersΒ  of patterned paper (Carta Bella).Β  I sewed around each piece of patterned paper for extra detail. Finally I cut out the ice cream pieces and the banner. I added some distress ink in a similar colour to each of the pieces to really bring out the spots on the cardstock.Β  Finally I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam squaresΒ to give the ice cream some dimension.Β Β  Here is another look: Supplies: Core’dinations ColorCore…

I am a big fan of β€œfussy cutting” and paper layering so the Core’dinations ColorCore cardstock was the perfect choice for this project. I created texture on the papers with the Sizzix template and then sanded the paper to really make the pattern stand out. I love sanding the papers and the seeing the two-tone effect because it adds a rustic, roughness that is perfect for scrapbooking my boys. SUPPLIES: Core’dinations ColorCore cardstock, graphic 45 patterned paper, chipboard and alphabet stickers, Sizzix dies and embossing folder, May Arts Ribbon, Gesso, Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry Liquid glue. Thanks for looking

Kim Gowdy here, for Tuesday with The Team. Today I am sharing a project I made to showcase some hummingbird pictures I took, during a workshop I attended in May. The accordion file frame was created using the SIZZIX Bigz Die; β€œAccordion Flip – 3D”. The first time I saw this die in use I immediately fell in love! Cathie Allan was making Christmas Cards for her family with it, and I ordered it online that same day! For this project I used Canadian Scrapbooker’s Superstock. It is a heavy weight, bright white cardstock that is sturdy and holds up well with layers of ink, paint and mixed media products. If you have never worked with it, I’d highly recommend trying it out! I applied cream acrylic paint on the Magenta Bubble Wrap Border stamp and stamped it on each of my die cut pieces. …

Last summer, I first attended CHA in Las Vegas and was astonished by the Sizzix booth….the displays, the projects…so much eye candy! This winter tradeshow was the same experience with Sizzix showcasing an incredible and vast assortment of products and crafts. The really cool thing about the Sizzix displays are how artfully the products (dies) are staged with craft projects and overall decor. The new Tim Holtz Alterations dies are wonderful to behold, with a combination of die cutting and embossing paper crafts… There are also an assortment of new border dies and project samples that feature them… …along with the new Bigz dies. That is only the Tim Holtz line! There are wonderful other collections by their other designers. Β “Susan’s Garden” is an entire line of dies designed to recreate perfect and realistic 3D flowers. Β I had a nice…

Imagine, Explore, Play by Jayme Loge I recently got my hands on some new DCWV stacks and fell in love (LOVE!) with the β€˜Vintage Collector’ line. It is perfect for my girly-girl with wild hair and something askew child- pretty with a touch of shabby!. As soon as I saw the papers I knew they would work with some photos we took at the lake. Sketch books in hand, we took a long walk down the weedy beach. The photos are some of my very favorites ever! Β I look at them and I can hear her contentedly humming as she picked flowers, checked out snail shells and danced a story for all creation on an abandoned dock. How I love that girl… Supplies Used: DCWV patterned paper, May Arts Ribbon, Clearsnap ink and embossing powder, Bazzill Basics cardstock, Sizzix die, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I pulled out some of…
