Happy 151st Birthday Canada

Nicole Wright here today celebrating Canada’s 151st birthday! I love Canada even more since today is also my husband’s birthday. I always make sure he has a “CANADA DAY” theme card. This year his card is extra special. The paper used for the Maple Leaf and side red banners are 116 year old paper from his grandfather’s old book. It’s ok, I have permission. I will be filming the HOW TO for this card with Creative Scrapbooker Magazine in a few days… while I am on vacation. For now, check out this inspiration and get ready for this quick video. 1. I cut the Sizzix die cut Layered Leaf with the book page paper to create a Maple Leaf. The side banners are cut with the same book page. Dylusions Acrylic Paint Tutorial

Happy Monday everyone. Nicole Wright here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Are you excited to make a mess. I know I am. This is my first time using Dylusions Paint on a canvas. I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel here, but maybe you have been thinking of trying these paints. Or perhaps you haven’t cracked one open in sometime. Follow along as I learn how to use these paints… and get ready to make a mess! I am stretching out with these new to me paints and I have to say… what have I been waiting for. I’ll admit I have been intimidated but wow these are amazing. Hello everyone! Nicole Wright here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine creating a fun Christmas tag. Holiday crafting is in full swing and you may have a Christmas tag or two left to create. Today I am sharing this easy resist background for your next Christmas tag or any paper crafting project. Plaid is one of my favourite patterns and it’s even more fun to make your own background. This way you can coordinate any colour you want. It only takes a few easy steps and a lot of inky fingers. Lets get started. Putting Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock card stock through it’s paces with stenciling, embossing, spraying and inking for this tag. Start with the clear embossing powder and stencil to create the resist. Heat dry the spray stain and wipe the extra stain off the embossed pattern. Hello Carrot Mini Dye Ink Pads!

EEK… Halloween is coming and all things spooky! Hello my pretties Nicole Wright here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog sharing this rich Halloween inspired card with this bold punch of colour. I have fallen in love with the Clearsnap carrot dye mini ink pad!There’s a fun team up this week with Xyron and Clearsnap. I got a little yummy box of Premium Dye Mini Ink Pads and to my delight there was Carrot and Coal in there. I used the Carrot Premium Dye Mini Ink Pads ink and blended, blended and more blending. BAM… Now that’s a rich orange. I hauled out my Stamp Platform for precision! I wasn’t about to the ruin this inky masterpiece! In July I was in LasVegas so of course I had to go to Viva Las Vegas Stamps where I found lots and lots… and lots of yummy stamps including the Tree Writing Collage. Welcome to another WHERE YOU CREATE post. If you are a fan of Tim Holtz, Ranger or Sizzix I know you will love the craft space we are about to share. Even if your creative style differs, we are confident you too will swoon over Nicole Wright’s scrapbooking room. Her craft room is not big…but WOWSERS, it packs a punch! In Nicole’s Words I have a very small but mighty craft space. This 8×12 room is designed to maximize space and functionality with storage on walls. I create on an 80+ year old oak desk belonging to my husband’s grandfather. Everything is designed around this vintage centrepiece. Wire baskets hold my stamps and apple crate boxes house my extensive Sizzix library. IKEA wire shelves are perfect for all my Ranger inky things. Thanksgiving Scrapbook Card with Nicole Wright

Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I am… Nicole here and I am excited to be on Creative Scrapbooker Magazine today with this easy Thanksgiving card. Using Ranger distress oxide inks are easy and fun to create with. I have found that I truly need the entire collection 🙂 Step by Steps Here are the easy to follow step by steps for you to create this super easy card just in time for our Canadian Thanksgiving. Assemble the cardstock and fall colours of the Ranger distress oxide inks. Layour your stencil on a non stick crafting mat and direclty stamp the distress ink onto the stencil. Spray the stencil slightly with water. Flip the inked stencil directly onto the heavey weight Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Super Stock and lift. While that is drying it’s a good time to die cut out the word Thanksgiving using a Sizzix die out of Paper Leather. Next…

This tutorial is an experiment for me and I love the results the Mini Archival Inks create. These crisp colors provide a detailed stamped image allowing versatility even when watercoloring.The Mini Archival Inks are just the right size for adding ink in select areas of the rubber stamps. Allowing me to ink and build each stamped image. Each ink is easily cleaned off the Archival Cleaner.
