Check it out, Nicole Wright Β here with a promise of spring for Tuesday with the Team!Β  I wanted to create a lot of texture so why not stamp on canvas.Β  I created this 5×5 card using a few of my favorite Sizzix dies including the Birch Thinlit die. I used various Sizzix dies to create the foliage including Tattered Pinecone, Layered Leaf and Tattered Leaves. I love inking up these filigree metal leaf charms from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies.Β  Ranger’s Peeled Paint Distress Paint is perfect for distressing these metal charms. I created my own leaves with watercolor paper and an assortment of Ranger Distress Spray Stains peeled paint, lucky clover and twisted citron. I inked the leavesΒ  with Ranger Distress Inks peeled paint, lucky clover and twisted citron right onto the canvas. The Birch die is cut onto watercolour paper where I inked and blotted with Ranger Distress Inks…

Walking into the Sizzix booth, my heart pounds with excitement…the displays always impress! Although Sizzix is branching out into the fabric industry, the focus is paper crafting. Along with embossing folders, Sizzix is probably most well-known for dies and die cutting. The Tim Holtz “Alterations” line is still very popular. There is a new Vagabond 2, the electronic version of a Big Shot. Accompanying the Vagabond 2 are new tools and products, even storage cases for embossing folders and dies. The Big Shot has a new friend! A storage caddy! It fits on the side and attaches to the Big Shot. We all like to stay organized and this caddy will surely help! Sizzix has also released patterned paper pads that fit perfectly through the Big Shot and Vagabond without cutting down to size. Cutting pads are now in 4 different colours…so you can’t lose them on your studio desk…

Hello everyone – Tracy McLennon here – the newest member of the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine Design Team! I know it’s not often that someone would come across a violin that they could make pretty. But I will admit that is one of the perks of having a band/music teacher husband that has other music teacher friends. It came up in conversation one night about how sometimes you collect broken and unusable instruments, instead of throwing them away. Then, there was mention of this 3/4 size violin, unusable and ready for the garbage. I put a stop to that! I love to decorate for the holidays! My style is very classic, greens, reds and golds. So I knew what direction I would go with this piece. I started with a light sanding all over, so that the paint would cover a little easier. It took about 3 coats of the cream…

Hi, it’s Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout I created using the November sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy challenge Β and some of the new Creative Memories products.Β Β Β  A couple of years ago I participated in a hummingbird photography workshop in British Columbia.Β Β  It was an absolutely amazing experience and I have enough hummingbird photographs to last me several lifetimes. I used patterned paper from the Creative Memories ‘Brights’ designer paper pack and the Bubbles Border Maker to dress up my paper edges a little bit.Β  The Creative Memories Border Maker System is very unique – you slide your paper into a positioning guide where it is firmly held by a magnet and then youΒ move a punch cartridge stepwise down the paper edge.Β  The cartridges are interchangeable so you can easily swap out different cartridges for different borders. To make my picture pop, I used dimensional foam adhesive…

Hello everyone!Β  Kelly Klapstein here to share my layout based on the November Sketchy challenge. Here is the November sketch: This Fall has been so beautiful in Alberta, and I snapped so many photos of the amazing golden colours of trees.Β  I just had to scrap them! The paper collection and leaf die cuts are from Momenta. I used my Sizzix Big Shot to die cut and emboss these pretty leaves. I used Tombow Dual Brush pens to hand letter the title “The Golden Hours” and write the journaling. I also used the Tombow pens to create a watercolour effect on the background, which is Canadian Scrapbooker Superstock. Click HERE to shop for this awesome cardstock…which is super heavy weight and great for all projects. I used some Stampin’ Up! stamps and Clearsnap ColorBox Frost WhiteΒ pigment ink to add a distressed effect to the outer edges of the paper. My…
