HELLO SUMMER! Hey everyone, – Cathie Allan here – thought I would share with you a totally fun and easy card that you can create in the wee hours of the morning. Why? … in the “wee hours of the morning?” ….. well, because, it is May 23rd and it is behaving like summer outside so we NEED to spend “some” of our “crafting time” in our gardens and on our deck. I used totally “doable” stamping techniques to create a fun, shape card that “wanted to be a slider card”. The background was simply stamped using a wonderful solid, daisy stamp from Impression Obsession and two fabulous pigment colors from Clearsnap. Since it was pigment ink, I was able to stamp the darker, Antique Pewter images first and then stamp the lighter, Buttercup images on top of the dark color. Pigment ink allows me to do this and I…

Christmas Stair Art with Cathie Allan

Cathie Allan here. I just wanted to share a little of my “Christmas Stair Art” with you. I have been creating “Stair Art” with my rubber stamps for many years. I started creating these on 6X6 blocks of wood. I would use my stamps and acrylic paint to create them and I place them in the corners of my stairs. These have always made me smile. Last year I started creating them with Superstock, which I fortify and now they are “so much faster” to create. No prepping of the wood. No waiting for sealer to dry and they look AWESOME. I am sharing a couple of the “older, on the wooden block” ones that I made in previous years (if you look real close you can see that these were done in 1997)and the one that I created this year. Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! I have been intrigued and inspired by art journals lately. Although I am a true novice at this craft, I have been dabbling a tiny bit and learning a few techniques and about some of the main mediums. I am a dive in and give it a try kind of girl, so don’t look to me for authority on ‘how to’ and ‘you should’. If you do, you will be disappointed.
