Wondering how too dry emboss – you are simply one click away from watching someone teach you. When you think about it, it’s actually kinda crazy. Looking for stamping tips and tricks? Stampendous is a great site to visit for just that. Their videos are timeless. Whether the videos themselves are 1 week old or 5 years old the techniques are fabulous for the projects that you will create TONIGHT! Yep – they are timeless. CLICK HERE The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnivals We are super happy to announce that Stampendous will once again be sponsoring our Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnivals this fall in Edmonton and Calgary. HELLO SUMMER! Hey everyone, – Cathie Allan here – thought I would share with you a totally fun and easy card that you can create in the wee hours of the morning. Why? … in the “wee hours of the morning?” ….. well, because, it is May 23rd and it is behaving like summer outside so we NEED to spend “some” of our “crafting time” in our gardens and on our deck.   I used totally “doable” stamping techniques to  create a fun, shape card that “wanted to be a slider card”.  The background was simply stamped using a wonderful solid, daisy stamp from Impression Obsession and two fabulous pigment colors from Clearsnap. Since it was pigment ink, I was able to stamp the darker, Antique Pewter images first and then stamp the lighter, Buttercup images on top of the dark color.  Pigment ink allows me to do this and I…

Cathie Allan here. I just wanted to share a little of my “Christmas Stair Art” with you. I have been creating “Stair Art” with my rubber stamps for many years. I started creating these on 6X6 blocks of wood.  I would use my stamps and acrylic paint to create them and I place them in the corners of my stairs. These have always made me smile. Last year I started creating them with Superstock, which I fortify and now they are “so much faster” to create. No prepping of the wood. No waiting for sealer to dry and they look AWESOME. I am sharing a couple of the “older, on the wooden block” ones that I made in previous years (if you look real close you can see that these were done in 1997)and the one that I created this year.  This year’s is all done with Impression Obsession Stamps,…

I picked up some papers and stickers from the Simple Stories fall collection called ‘Pumpkin Spice’  When I picked them up, it hadn’t snowed yet, and I was feeling the urge to scrapbook some of my fall pictures. Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! I have been intrigued and inspired by art journals lately. Although I am a true novice at this craft, I have been dabbling a tiny bit and learning a few techniques and about some of the main mediums. I am a dive in and give it a try kind of girl, so don’t look to me for authority on ‘how to’ and ‘you should’. If you do, you will be disappointed. BUT, if you are looking for someone to give you permission to try it out, explore and see what can happen, then I am your support team. Here are the steps to my first creation, where I figured if playing on paper and tucking it away in a book was good, then how awesome would it be to create something for the wall. Go ahead, and give it a try! What is the worst that can…
