Hello everyone – Cathy Caines here Β I think by playing with ice cream and popsicle stamps, I can convince myself that it’s Summer outside my froze bitten window. Oh yes, the calendar tells me it’s Spring and that silly Shuebenacadie Sam groundhog supposedly saw his shadow but it couldn’t be farther from the truth on the East Coast of Canada.Β  Perhaps it’s time for that guy to get some glasses. I spent a great deal of time stamping different colour combinations and putting together a number of die cuts using the Cool Treats stamp and die cuts.Β  It’s the way I roll. It wasn’t until I truly thought about my favourite ice cream that I found the perfect fit. Mint Chocolate Chip! The delicate white doilies are a perfect way to accent the card as it looks like the little wrappers that sometimes comes on the ice cream cones. While,…

YES …. my Cathie Allan Position-it has had an upgrade.Β  I have loved my Position-it for many years. Loved that it was two tools in one. It was a tool that worked as a positioner, allowing you to place images β€œexactly” where you wanted them on your project AND allowed you to stamp an image, over and over and over again in exactly the same place thus opening up endless possibilities with my favourite art tools, my rubber stamps. Loved that it works on ALL sizes of paper. Loved that it worked with wood mounted rubber stamps, cling rubber stamps AND clear rubber stamps. Sounds amazing right … YES it was and YES …. it still IS but now …. it allows me to do even more.Β  In essence … it simply makes stamping easier and even more β€œfunner” (yes, I know that is not a word (yet) I like…

It’s a 3-in-1 challenge! by Kerry Engel Many of you have been using Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketchy challenge as your inspiration-spring-board, creating some beautiful layouts and cards but did you know that you could use a sketch to inspire you in your art journal too? I’m still relatively new to the art journal game. To be honest sometimes I look at all my yummy layers and colorful pages and while I love the techniques and I realize that it’s about β€˜playing’ and exploring, at the end I wish that they made more sense.Β  Visual sense. Visual sense for me starts at the beginning; when I think about the direction or movement that I want in my page. That’s where having a sketch as a launching point helps. I loosely used this months sketch to contain my techniques and create movement down the middle. I really liked how it turned out…

Hi, Tracy here! Today I wanted to share a quick and easy card idea using Stampin’ Up! Stamps, Ranger Archival Ink, Chameleon Pens and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Project Recipe: Stampin’ Up! – Falling Flowers Stamp Set- Β Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set (Sentiment) – Cardstock- white and black Ranger- Tim Holtz Distress Archival Ink- Soot Black – Stickles- Yellow Chameleon Pens – YO3, YG3, RD4, BG4, PR4 Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L- EZ Runner Grand, Black 3D Foam Squares I started with a piece of white cardstock that was 3.75×5. Using my Ranger Archival ink I stamped the Stampin’ Up! flowers and leaves along the top and bottom of the cardstock. This stamp set is perfect for trying Chameleon markers for the first time. The lines of the images are a little thicker, providing a little more forgiveness when colouring. Once my images were coloured I added my sentiment. I picked nice…

Once upon a time there was a beautiful stamp that cried out to be used on a project or β€œ6” J.Β  This β€œbeautiful stamp” came from Impression Obsession and was one of their new releases at β€œCREATIVATION” which was held in Phoenix in January. This stamp, part of a β€œgeranium series” from Impression Obsession decided to go home with Cathie and she set to work creating β€œsomething”. Not really knowing what the project would become, Cathie set about simply altering a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock with her new, stamp and the Poinsettia pigment petal point from Clearsnap. Even though the name of this particular stamp pad β€œscreamed Christmas”, Cathie looked past it and simply saw it also was a great combination of colors for a geranium image. She partnered her stamp with her β€œCathie Allan Position-it2”, which is 3 tools in one. This tool can be used with…

Β  Lately I have been feeling un-inspired. I want to be in my craft room but it seems like everything I make, I can’t get quite right. While playing around with the Lift Me Up bundle in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog, I was stamping in black and gold and red… pretty much every colour of the rainbow. And then I finally used silver embossing powder. BAM. That’s all I needed to get the wheels turning.Β  I stamped in silver and then I did some die cuts in silver foil.Β  I was really impressed how the silver foil Up and Away Thinlet die ran through the Big Shot with ease.Β  This particular card has a lightly water coloured background using the tempting turquoise Stampin’ Up! refill ink. This gave it a look as if it was a sky. Many of you know that I die cut and stamp…

The one booth that is sure to make you smile at the tradeshow is Art Impressions. Their stamps have hilarious images and cute caricatures of people and animals that will brighten any card or project. And this year AI is celebrating 30 years in business!! 30 years of making people laugh and smile is a pretty good thing. Probably most well-known for their “Girlfriends” line of stamps, the booth was filled with cheerful, samples of cards that were beautifully coloured. Here are a couple of our personal faves: There are newly released “Get Well” themed stamps too: Valentine stamps and cards were also on display and are so sweet! The Zoo Crew stamp line features hilarious quotes and animals in funny poses: Add some Shakers andΒ Spinners, and you have stamped images that move! So much FUN! One of the newest releases are 3D Stamp sets called POP CARDS so…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with Β a layout inspired by the monochromatic days of a northern Alberta winter. Β I used black and white because that’s pretty much the only colours I see right now when I look outside. Β Sigh. Β But soon the days will get longer and it won’t be long before the snow melts and the grass turns green again. Β Yes, I am an eternal optimist. I made myself a triangle template out of a scrap of paper and used it to cut the patterned paper and photos into large triangles which form the basis of the layout. The paper is the Uptown Fundamentals line from Β Close to My Heart. Β This paper (and other matching products) are a gorgeous and versatile black, white and gold colour and is available from theΒ Annual Inspirations Catalogue from CTMH. Β I used the Framework Alphabet Acrylic Stamps to stamp the title and the paper…
