Have you tried creating a watercolor effect on a scrapbook page or a card lately? For some reason when people say “watercolor” I get all nervous – like only highly trained artists can create a fun watercolor effect. I am also very guilty of purchasing all kinds of fancy things with the word watercolor on them in hopes that they might some day turn me into a watercolor artists! Β LOL! Okay I just solidified to you all that I am slightly crazy! The Web Show When Kelly Klapstein filmed this webshow with us a few months back I was excited! Β Easy watercolor effect is only a STAMP away!!! YAHOOO! Pair that up with ink, the Brother ScanNCut and some Tombow Dual Brush pens and voila! You got yourself an EASY, ANYONE can re-create card! I love it. The Supplies The base of the card is Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock. A…

Today we are looking back to the Summer 2016 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine where Christy Riopel featured the brayer in her regular Tool Junkie column. Using the brayer as her base tool, Β she created three very different projects including this gorgeous, yet extremely simple layout of her daughter Brittany. Β Christy created the soft ombre effect you can see on the stamped image aswell as on the photo mat behind the gorgeous photo of Brittany using a brayer, Ranger distress inks and a custom blend distress ink pad. The Project The Supplies Stampin’ Up! cardstock and glossy cardstock, Ranger distress ink and custom blend distress ink pad, Impression Obsession stamp, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Sakura Pigma Micron pen. The Step By Steps – In Christy’s Words I used a blank Custom Blend Distress ink pad as my base. Choose three or so colours of Ranger Distress Ink re-inkers. It works…

Coffee Helps by Cathy Caines β€œLife Happens. Coffee Helps.” This bag of Β beans wasn’t always busted open. Oh no.Β  It’s wasn’t. I finished up my projects using the Stampin’ Up! Coffee CafΓ© stamp set and co-ordinating Coffee Cups Framelits die…. … I laid them on the dining counter ready to photograph the next day when the sun rose. And then I saw this…ARGH! My son Jack thought the beans were raisins and had been fiddling around to open the bag. What’s the strangest thing is that he doesn’t like raisins.Β  He picks them out of the trail mix packages from Costco. But that’s when I noticed the tag. β€œLife Happens. Coffee Helps.” Exactly. This is it.Β  Life happens. Coffee is important to me.Β  I crave it. I drink it black and I like it super hot.Β  I don’t re-heat because it never tastes right after that.Β  I like to drink…

Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Β I’ve loved plumeria since I first went to Hawaii in (cough, cough) 1974. I just couldn’t resist Heartfelt Creations Plumeria and their Tropical Paradise Collection. It just makes me smile. It reminds of Hawaiian leis, beaches and Don Ho’s “Tiny Bubbles” (it was 1974, remember?). To create the flowers I stamped one set in pink (and one in orange) Clearsnap ColorBox ink. I left everything on the stamp positioner so that I could stamp on top and then emboss once I was done coloring. I embossed with Clearsnap ColorBox clear embossing powder.I coloured the stamps with Stabilo Carbothello chalk pastel pencils. I blended the colours with a blending nib. I did the same thing with the Parrot.Β Β I followed the instructions on the Heartfelt Creations website on how to put together the plumeria. https://www.heartfeltcreations.us/video/150/ez-steps-to-create-plumerias Β I also highlighted the flowers…

Hello everyone – Vicki Wizniuk here! Today I am sharing a few cards I created using the new Prickly Pear papers from Close to My Heart! I love the fresh and funky colour palette in this pack. For my first card, I paired the Prickly Pear papers with the Prickly Pear Cardmaking stamp set.Β  I love that these new stamp sets have matching Thin Cuts dies, making creating even that much easier! To add colour the stamped and die-cut cactus, I used my inks and small waterbrush to simply paint the colours on. Tip:Β  I like to use Black Memento ink to stamp the image, as it dries quickly and it doesn’t β€œbleed” when I use my waterbrush to add the colours. I added a few sequins from the Prickly Pear Sequins pack.Β  I love how easily you can combine everything just by going by the name of the product…

HELLO SUMMER! Hey everyone, – Cathie Allan here – thought I would share with you a totally fun and easy card that you can create in the wee hours of the morning. Why? … in the β€œwee hours of the morning?” ….. well, because, it is May 23rd and it is behaving like summer outside so we NEED to spend β€œsome” of our β€œcrafting time” in our gardens and on our deck. Β Β I used totally β€œdoable” stamping techniques toΒ  create a fun, shape card that β€œwanted to be a slider card”. Β The background was simply stamped using a wonderful solid, daisy stamp from Impression Obsession and two fabulous pigment colors from Clearsnap. Since it was pigment ink, I was able to stamp the darker, Antique Pewter images first and then stamp the lighter, Buttercup images on top of the dark color.Β  Pigment ink allows me to do this and I…
