Art journaling , for me, looks rather intimidating. There are so many layers of goodness that I often have no idea where to start. Like this page from Consie Sindet for The Crafter’s Worshop that features stenciling. Stenciling I am constantly on the look out for easy to follow videos on art journaling that I can follow along and replicate. Through the years I have come to the conclusion that one of the easiest places to start is with stenciling. Kim’s Take On Our October Sketchy Challenge

Hi everyone, Kim here today. I just finished working on a layout using October 2016, sketchy challenge. If my memory is good…that means I have used every sketch from 2016! Bring on 12 more for 2017! I LOVE them. Here is October’s sketch; my starting point. My completed layout below makes me smile, I love the Simple Stories product I used…It’s whimsical and sweet. My layout started like many of mine do, on a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s Superstock. I love to build up from the basics and seem to be drawn to the contrast the white gives me when playing with other products! My first layer was created using a TCW stencil and Clearsnap’s Colorbox chalk inks. From there, I positioned my picture. I will usually just add adhesive to the center back of my photo leaving the edges free to slip embellishments under. I added several little…
