Kim here with my take on the February sketch. This is not my best work, but I had fun with this layout. I feel like I have been in a creative funk since January and am slowly coming off the couch back into my craft room! I am NOT a lover of winter and the darkness that comes with it!
Working with a sunset picture seemed a good choice! I just let myself play and put ZERO pressure on the results.
I added a thin layer of Dina Wakley Media Gesso to my CSM Superstock and then “messy” coloured my circles with Distress Crayons. Once my colour was on my page, I used a water brush to blend it and even it out.
My spiral line and writing was done with a Dylusions Paint Pen – I LOVE THESE!!!!!
I used a Magenta stencil with Black Soot Distress Ink for the butterflies and flowers and some black Pico Embellisher for the dots.
Sometimes you just have to let yourself play!
