Creativity – The More You Use, The more You Have – Maya Angelou.
Hello! It’s Susan from Susan K. Weckesser Inc. on the blog today and all ready to get creative with you. We finally finished moving into Cochrane, Alberta and my new studio is kinda set up. It really is beautiful and I love seeing the Rocky Mountains out my studio windows. Today I am creating a Mother’s Day card using one of my designed co-branded Unity Stamp Co. kits. I had so much fun with this card. Have you ever looked at some of your themed stamps and wished that you could use them all year round? Well, take a look at how I created this fun card using one of my favourite Christmas stamp kits that I designed. SUPPLIES
An (Artful) Ornament Stamp Kit: Susan K. WeckeserInc/Unity Stamp Co.
ColorPOPMini Inks:Susan K. Weckesser Inc/Clearsnap ColorBox in snow, ice and cocoa
embosssing powder: American Craft and Ranger
glue: Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue
patterned paper: My Mind’s Eye
The stamp I am using I did design as a Christmas ornament. However, I love the doodles within the stamp and I can use them for other projects during the year.
1. Using white pigment ink. Stamp onto the card the parts of the stamp that you want.
2. Put a couple colours of embossing powders onto the wet ink and heat set.3. By using two or more colours, you can create a wonderful ombre effect.4. Repeat steps 1-3 with a word or sentiment stamp.5. Cut out 2 rectangles out of the patterned ppaer to go on the centre of the card. Make one slightly smaller then the other. Distress the edges.6. Cut a scalloped edge circle out of scrapbook paper.
7. Cut the paper circle in half and then fold it. Next staple it onto the front of your card.8. Next put a flower on the top of the staples and slide your little piece of paper with a word stamped on it into the little front pocket.Enjoy your card and have fun spreading love and some creativity!
Hugs
