So you have been seeing the company Gel Press on our blog and various social medias over the past few months. For those of you that know Gel Press – YAHOOOOO – for those of you who don’t – this blog post is for you.
What is Gel Press?
Gel Press is a company that produces a variety of products with the focus being their Reusable Gel printing plate. AND it is exactly what it says….a gel like plate that is kinda squishy. LOL!
How do you use it?
1. Apply paint or texture paste to the plate using a brayer.
2. Add texture lines or drawings, stamp images, or use stencils.
3. Next you simple rub a piece of paper onto your plate and pull back the design! This design is called a monoprint!
What do you use the monoprints you have created for?
Everywhere you would normally use patterned paper. Yep – you basically are creating your own patterned paper! So you can use them for cards, for layouts, for mixed media, for home decor – ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING.
Do I have to be a mixed media artist to use them?
Absolutely not! The Gel Press takes almost NO crafting experience to use and the results are almost always stunning!
Do I have to purchase LOTS of supplies before I get started?
Nope – you probably only need to purchase the gel plate. I bet you already have paint, stencils and even a brayer at home!
