12 Days of Giving starts DECEMBER 12!

In loving memory of Christy RiopelThis week we are visiting the fall 2015 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. In this issue, Christy Riopel had a ton of fun creating with Spellbinder dies and the Grand Calibur die cutting machine. One of the projects Christy created for this article, featured a cameo background she cut out using a die and a die cutting machine. So simple and so stunning. You will want to try this.

Cutting A Cameo Background

Sometimes it is nice to remove some of the background from a photo without cropping the entire image. This cameo style of cutting,  is a beautiful and unique technique that will allow you to do just that.

Cameo Cutting Step By Steps | Creative Scrapbooker Magazine1. Hold the chosen circle or oval die over the photo. Cut along the part of the image that you want to keep from the outside edge in, making slits in the photo.
2. Weave the die into the photo, so it is under the parts you want to keep and over the parts you want to cut away.
3. Run through the Grand Caliber die cutting machine to cut and separate the parts of the photo.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.

In loving memory of Christy Riopel – we continue to raise money for the Christy Riopel Art Scholarship. To date – one scholarship has been given through The Boys & Girls Club of Calgary. This warms my heart knowing that Christy continues to spread gentle, caring and inspiring love through art in our world. Thank you so much to everyone who donates. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
