Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog.
The ‘Seas The Day’ Tri-fold Stamp by Art Impressions is meant to be used in an interactive card. I thought I’d challenge myself to see if I could use it another way.I ended up creating an adorable tag that I plan on using as an embellishment on a scrapbook page, but it could easily be hung on a gift or bottle of wine.My salty embellishment has a lot of depth and dimension and comes together very smoothly as the stamps and dies snuggle together nicely on a tag.
To create the tag…
Step 1.
You’ll need 3 tags, Art C has some great vintage tags. On the first tag stamp the palm trees centering them towards the bottom. ColorBox ink by Clearsnap has yummy colors that look fabulous on the vintage tags. Stamping in brown coordinates nicely with the tags.Step 2.
On a separate piece of cardstock stamp the palm trees again. Use a ColorBox fingertip foam applicator to smudge the ink roughly onto the stamped image. You don’t have to be careful as you end up cutting out the palm trees.Step 3.
Use the accompanying die to cut out the middle of the image you just inked then fussy cut around the edges. Apply Top Boss to the colored image and then cover in embossing powder to add shine and dimension.
Step 4.
Using the die again, punch out the center of the palm trees that were stamped on the tag. Lay this punched tag on top of a second tag to figure out where to position the chair stamp. Stamp the chairs on the second tag.Step 5.
Stamp the chairs again on card stock and ink using a combination of ColorBox fingertip sponges, styluses, and fingers. Emboss the colored chairs too.
Step 6.
Using the second die, punch out the middle of both chair images. Layer the palm tree tag on top of the chair tag on top of a third tag to decide where to position the sun stamp on the third tag.
Step 7.
Color the sun with Clearsnap ColorBox ink. No need to emboss this piece.Step 8.
Use foam squares to layer the colored palms on top of the corresponding stamped tag. Glue the colored chairs on top of their corresponding stamped tag. Stick foam in between the bottom two tags to add even more dimension.
Step 9.
Edge the tags in brown. String the jute through the tag’s eyelet. Stamp a sentiment on the top tag.
Step 10.
A tiny rhinestone on the sun catches the light and drawing white highlights on the images with a Sakura gell pen gives everything a bit more dimension.
