Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a selection of shimmery foiled Christmas cards I made with Therm O Web Foil-Mates and Fancy Foils from Gina K Designs. I am new to the idea of foiling, and I have to tell you that I am in LOVE. Although I was initially intimidated by the idea, it is so simple to create these beautiful cards. You just place the foil of your choice over a pre-printed toner sheet (the Foil-Mates), run it through a laminator and the magic happens. Here are a few cards that I whipped up – once you start laminating foils onto patterns, it’s hard to stop! Just add a bit of ribbon or a couple of flowers and you’re good to go. You can even use the used foil for a card background as I did in the last card. The used foils are too pretty to throw out.
Here’s the Therm O Web Gina K Foil-Mates I used to create the card backgrounds and sentiments. I experimented with different colours of Fancy Foils – glittering green and radiant red, turquoise and silver. I think they all look great.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all get a chance to get your ‘foil’ on. It’s a lot of fun and you can make a lot of cards quickly and easily.

Your cards are beautiful. I have used the foil mates but find that there are black marks where the foil didn’t attach. Did you have that problem?
thank you Dianne. If you’re getting less than perfect results, here’s a couple of tips that seem to work really well for me – first, make sure your laminator is warmed up for a good 20 minutes. Wipe off the printed design with a clean lint free cloth, and then add a cardstock shim under your Foil-mate piece inside the parchment paper folder to increase the pressure of the laminator and provide smoother foiling. Have fun!
