Hey there! Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here! It’s kind of a Creative Memories tradition that a new Baby collection arrives each Spring, and the new Storytime Collection is so cute that I had to dig out my boys’ baby photos and create some new layouts! What I love about this collection is that everything mix and matches together beautifully and will work for both boy and girl layouts! It features two paper packs, two sticker packs, an embellishment pack, a variety mat card pack, gorgeous album covers, pre-designed refill pages, and even gift box bundles that would be the perfect gif for a new mom! I had two sweet photos of my son Grayson as a newborn that I wanted to feature, and Kerry Engel’s April Sketchy Challenge sketch was perfect to showcase them! I love finding a new sketch from Kerry every month on the CSM Sketchy Challenge Page for inspiration! I chose a few of the Storytime papers to go along with Navy Cardstock and a card from the variety mat cards. I knew I would also use the fun new Moon and Stars Chain Border Maker Cartridge (along with other favorites you’ll see in a minute!) and several of the stickers and embellishments. I trimmed the white paper with chartreuse stars to 11” square and mounted it onto a 12” x 12” sheet of Navy Cardstock. I cut out two 6” circles using the large circle template and red blade from the Custom Cutting System and adhered them on top. I cropped the photos down to 4” x 4” but kept the photo of his little hand, trimming it down to 2” x 2”. All the photos were mounted on to White Cardstock and then adhered on top of the circles. I also added a border sticker vertically in between the two circles as suggested on Kerry’s sketch, and half of the mat card to use for a journaling spot. Next, I punched out two Moon and Stars Chain borders – one each from the leftover navy and green papers I had cut my circles from. I trimmed them into two shorter sections, cut out the moons from the navy border and mounted them on top of the moons on the green borders with some Foam Squares for a little added lift. I thought that I would like to add some small stars and hearts as embellishments, so I used the Stars Border Maker Cartridge and the Heart Duet Border Maker Cartridge to punch a few out from other Storytime papers. I love how the Border Maker Cartridges can be used for the little shapes they create as well as the gorgeous borders! After adding the Moon and Stars Border sections to the center of the layout I created a title cluster using the die-cut moon and some word stickers from the Storytime Collection. I had to write the word “you” onto the sticker that said “Love” in order for my title to make sense, but I like that it now reflects a favorite saying in our family! I journaled with my Black Dual-Tip Pen and added a series of dots around the edges of the page and the large circles with my Silver Metallic Dual-Tip Pen. A few more stickers and the extra star and heart shapes finished off this sweet layout. Here’s a closer look at some of the details: If you have baby photos – of yourself, your children, or your grandkids! – you’ll definitely want to play with the new Storytime Collection and create some picture perfect baby layouts, too! And make sure to check out all of Kerry’s sketches and upload photos of the layout you create based on them!
