Hi friends! Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here with a fun and FREE Cut-File that is perfect to use with the new Magic Awaits collection by Creative Memories! This happy and bright collection is awesome for documenting photos of adventures in theme parks, carnivals and fairs, playgrounds, birthday parties and lots of other adventures. The red, black and yellow color palette make is super versatile for so many occasions! I loved the name of the collection so much that I decided to create a cut-file featuring it. The “Magic Awaits” title and shadow layer cut-files can be resized and used on layouts, mini-albums or even cards. I’ve provided both elements in PNG, JPG and SVG format so you can use it with many different electronic cutting machines. You can download the free cut-file in the OCM Shop
I envisioned using this cut-file as the title on a layout showing my boys arriving at our hotel in Anaheim California last spring during our trip to visit the Magic Kingdom – even though it was their second trip, they were still so excited! I wanted the title to be large, so I imported it into Cricut Design Space software where I sized it to 8” W x 3.63” H, then cut the words from White Cardstock and the shadow layer (sized to 8.25” W x 3.95” H) from the red pinwheel paper from the Magic Awaits Tone-on-Tone Paper Pack.
Once I had it cut, I backed each letter with scraps of the various tone-on-tone papers. Soooo cute! Tip: Repositionable Adhesive works beautifully for these types of intricate jobs.
Then I realized that I had quite a few options as to how I could use the cut-file title: I could use the white title backed with various papers on its own; mount it on top of the red pinwheel shadow layer, or use the white letters that were leftover from the cut. So many options! I arranged my photos onto my base of yellow dotted Tone-on-Tone Paper and tried each title option to see what I liked best.
Ultimately, I decided to use the second variation – the white title backed with various colorful papers from the Tone on Tone Papers AND the red shadow layer – for lots and lots of interest! I added a small section of a border that I punched from Black Cardstock with the new Roller Coaster Border Punch, several Magic Awaits Stickers, and a half-size journal box from the coordinating Variety Mat Pack to complete the layout. I love how bright and fun it is and how much wow-factor I got from the title!
Head over to the OCM Shop (or the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine website) to download this free cut-file for yourself…I hope you have fun with it!
Happy Scrapping!
