Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Kim here with another WHERE YOU CREATE share. Weren’t we just planning our April Fool’s tricks? How the heck did we get to the end of April already? I know for those of us in Western Canada, the weather was fantastic…I am convinced that time speeds up when the sun shines bright and warm, that has been our reality this spring. Maybe, those of you in the East feel the end of April couldn’t get here fast enough…chime in and let us know! How about in YOUR corner of the world…is time speeding up? This week’s WHERE YOU CREATE takes us to Merrit, British Columbia. Let’s thank Danica Vere in advance for letting us peek into her space. My room with a view has three stations. My mix media is the desk with coloured boxes. My station by the wall has two work stops with supplies, inks…

Hey everyone…Kim here, sharing my take on our April Sketch.  This month’s sketch is a very basic, graphic design that could be used over and over…and look different every time! I love that! My four square grid is a bit “lost” in the background, but if you look you’ll see it! I used products from Heartfelt Creation’s collection, “Italiana Riviera”. These papers, stamps and dies are stunning! They were so fun to play with. Check out this detail shot to see the layers. Some of the layers were made with the stamp, dies and Clearsnap Chalk inks. The other layers were created by “fussy” cutting from a second sheet of paper and layering on top of the same image using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam squares.  Heartfelt Creation’s Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit was used to add dimension to my cuts. I was so pleased with how the details looked on…

Happy Friday! It’s time again for another Where You Create! I really enjoy seeing the submissions we get for these blog posts, our craft spaces come in many different shapes and styles…just like us! Please keep your pictures coming! When sending us your submissions, don’t be afraid to send large files {we can handle that!} and tell us about your space! What is your favourite storage solution? Where is your space located? Do you share it with anyone? Do you have some neat custom made shelves or are you a super, space saver due to limited square footage! We want to see them all…they truly inspire us! This week we are checking out Michelle’s awesome craft space, designed by her husband…right down to the colour! The cupboards were made by her brother-in-law as a surprise! Michelle recycled a shelf unit from her previous craft room/office and bought a second hand…

Hello Everyone; Kim here! Just wanted to share some fun cards and a tag I recently made using Art Impressions rubber stamps. It’s no secret among my creative friends that I have adored these whimsical stamps for some time. I LOVE them ALL! I used the same colour palette for all my projects, as well as Gesso and Crackle Paint on the tag. I applied the ink directly as well as over top of stencils. I literally just sat and played. My colouring was done with Distress Crayons. For my first card I simply used a stencil and ink for the background design; on white CSM Superstock. I used an Elizabeth Craft Design’s circle die for my image and mat, added some ink to the edges and a bit of sewing. I adhered my background on some Core’dinations cardstock after sanding it a bit to create more texture. A little bow…

Happy April Fool’s Day! Hope you had some fun fooling someone or being fooled! Life can be so serious…it’s good to have some FUN! FUN is what Mary Jane Rawls most definitely has in her creative space…check it out! After years of scrapping out of bins on my kitchen table, I asked my dad; an amateur woodworker, to create a workplace for all my goodies. I clipped pictures of all the little storage ideas I had seen over the years, along with a pamphlet about the Scrapbox. I left him to it. What I got was a scrap space suited just to me. As I always start my projects by choosing my paper first, it’s front and center, with lots of room for sorting. My pens and tools sit on either side in metal trays just below removable ribbon holders and pegboard. All my embellishments are in see through…

Hello! Kim here, just logging in to share my take on this month’s Sketchy Challenge! This month, for the most part, I stayed true to Kelly’s sketch. As always, a sketch is a fun place to start creating from…especially if your mojo is on hiatus. I pulled out my “A Year to Remember” collection from Creative Memories, and had fun going through the many different embellishments to find the ones that I felt worked best. I really like the colour palette of this collection, and look forward to pulling it out again. Here’s a detail shot of the banners. I cut between each banner, so I could add some texture and movement to it. I also curled and distressed the edge of some of my paper…I love texture and layers, but still need my pages to be flat enough to fit in my albums. Another layer I have added but…

Hi everyone! Kim here with a quick share of a mini album I just completed. I used a Close To My Heart “Workshop on the Go”. These kits they put together are genius! Patterned paper, cardstock, stamp set, embellishments and an idea sheet…ready for you to play! I choose to work with “La Vie en Rose” set…I love it! Thanks for checking out my album. This project is not hard technically, but requires time. In the end, it’s a nice reminder of a fun girls trip to Washington State. I have LOTS more pictures to scrapbook from this trip, but this mini album is like the “Coles Notes” version of our trip. SUBSCRIBE TODAY to our quarterly publication – delivered right to your door!

We have almost reached the Ides of March! This weekend the clocks “spring ahead”. Needless to say I am getting just a little giddy with the thought of Spring around the corner. Here in Edmonton, Alberta it really feels as if it is already here, I know everyone is not so lucky. Hang tight…we’re almost through to next season. YOU can do this! This week we are really excited to be sharing Tracy McLennon’s scrapbooking space. You may recognize her name from our website and social media shares. We are thrilled to have Tracy on board as a guest designer, her posts are always well received with many of your “likes” and “hearts”. As you will see in a couple of Tracy’s pictures below…she has LOTS of ribbon! May Arts Ribbon is another lucky company to have her as a design team member, as is Tombow USA; Tracy was recently…

Guess what? It’s the last Friday of February! Spring is just around the corner, I can smell it! Are you getting more light shining in your craft rooms…I am [*insert singing*]! Today we are heading to British Columbia to step into a wonderful craft room…here we go! My name is Deb Clark. I live on an acreage west of Victoria, B.C., near the community of Sooke. I started scrapbooking about 12 years ago, and have been making cards for the last 5 years. I have also started playing with a few mixed media projects. My craft room is in one of our main floor bedrooms. This is the view when you walk in the door. This is an old wooden, kitchen table that has a 4 foot by 6.5 foot piece of ash veneer wood on top. It extends over top of the two white cabinets below. It is…

Hello again! It’s Kim here with my take on the February Sketch designed by Kelly Klapstein. I was inspired to rotate the sketch as shown and from there just started to play until I felt I was done! I love how it turned out, though my husband doesn’t see any similarity to the sketch…LOL! The papers and embellishments are from Bo Bunny’s Believe collection. I was hesitant at first to get this collection of papers, as I wasn’t sure if the theme would work for my style of scrapbooking.  Once I opened up the papers, stickers and die cuts I was pleased to find LOTS that I was comfortable working with…I love the colours and whimsy so much. The products that don’t “work” for me will easily be altered and adapted for my needs. So many inspirational sayings and thoughts, I can’t wait to play with this paper collection again. I…
