I was struggling with my crafting space for several years. My husband had built me a wonderful “studio” desk but I outgrew it once my crafting migrated from personal scrapbooking to creating hand-painted signs. Creative Memories “Forever Yours” collection

Hello everyone! Thanks for joining me on the Creative Scrapbooker blog today! As I was looking through the papers of Creative Memories “Forever Yours” collection; I paused at the journal card I have used on this layout, and started looking at the papers and embellishments so much differently. These papers didn’t lend themselves to only wedding pages and so began the starting point for my layout! I sorted through to get a general idea of which patterns I wanted to work with and I knew from the get go I wanted to make dimensional flowers from the embellishment pack! This collection has lots of lovely patterned paper as well as a coordinating vellum pack. Once I had my picture chosen and a basic idea of where to place things I started to play with building the flowers! I stacked, curled, bent and glued the pieces and LOVE how they turned…

June Sketchy Challenge gets splashed!

Hi everyone! Kim here with a quick layout share that was inspired by our June Sketchy Challenge, designed by Kerry Engel. I have to say, this was originally a tough sketch for me, I didn’t have a clue how I would use it until I took the perfect picture of my crazy dog Bella and then I knew my leading lines would be splashes of water! I used Simple Stories ‘Cabin Fever’ collection for all papers and embellishments with the exception of the Bazzil cardstock. I used a few different types of Tombow adhesives to adhere all elements. The awesome water splashes were designed and downloaded from Freepik Designs. I cut them using my electronic die cutting machine. Happy Friday! Didn’t we just turn the page on June? How did it get to be the 9th already! Before you know it, the kids will be done school and holidays begin! Hello CSM scrapbookers! Kim here, thanks for dropping by the blog to see what I have been up to! Last September; my hubby and I went to Scotland for a wonderful, two-week holiday. I am still in the process of culling through pictures and scrapbooking some of our adventures. The layout I am sharing today uses the gorgeous “transatlantic TRAVEL” collection by Carta Bella. The paper is such beautiful quality and the collection lent itself well to a travel location so rich in history and well…across the Atlantic Ocean! My layout uses patterned paper, journal cards [cut from a 12×12 sheet], stickers and a quote border all from the same collection. I have added a journaling insert behind the photo mat; this also allows an extra photo to be placed on the back of my journaling. I added a touch of water colour to the part of the map [Scotland/England]…

How can it already be the last Friday of May? I feel the months are just flying by this year! Maybe a sign of getting older or a sign of too much on my plate…maybe just a tad of each! Happy National Scrapbook Day! Kim here with a layout share using products from Wild Whisper Designs, Ranger Inks, Southern Ridge Trading Company and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I loved the ‘Adventure Collection’ from Wild Whisper Designs from the moment I started to see layouts being created with it shared online. It is so well suited for outdoorsy photos! I paired the papers up with some bear photos I had from a few years back! I am really happy with the finished result! I designed and cut my title using my electronic cutting machine and was thrilled that by chance it lined up perfectly with the design of the paper I placed behind for contrast…giving it a bit more visual texture! My journaling was done using a Ranger Ink Dylusions paint pen – you should try them out if you haven’t…I LOVE them! My bear and tree elements are from Southern…

Ahhhh, spring found us! Today in the Edmonton region of Alberta we are supposed to hit 26C! It will feel so good! Another thing that will warm YOUR creative soul is a peek into Jackie’s wonderful creative space…let’s go! Dear Kim, I have attached the photos of my space! Through the door there is a bookcase with my magazines and where I hang the jewelry that is in my etsy store. Then you have the Cricut center. Under the Cricut, in the cabinets are boxes of material for sewing; I make custom camera straps for my etsy store. The tall bookcase holds cutters and supplies for the Cricut. Then we have my counter top workspace! A map on the wall documents my travels with pins. After cruises and more, I love to scrapbook the places I have been! The 1st bookcase on the wall opposite my counter holds all jewelry…
