It’s another WHERE YOU CREATE Friday! We have a great space to share with you today with lots of pictures! Terri Kocher has been kind enough to let us in and tell us about her space! Enjoy the view and leave a kind word or two in the messages is you are inclined to do so, we love when you interact with us! I have recently been laid off of my job as an office manager and have taken up crafting as a hopeful, full-time job.  I am a CTMH consultant and am currently developing designs for workshops. I have made a couple of scrap books, but get overwhelmed by what I haven’t done, so I make cards. I love the [almost] instant gratification I get from making cards.  I am honoured to be a small part of my client’s special occasions. It makes my heart happy. When I first started crafting,…

Happy Friday! Look at us already almost half way through November. Despite our darker days, time seems to speed up from now until New Year’s Day! Funny to think time stopped as a child waiting for Christmas to come…as a parent I’d LOVE to cash in a few extra bonus days just to get things ready! Before our brains start working overtime…let’s take some time to visit a gorgeous creative space! Sharon Colpitts has been kind enough to let us in; you are going to love her bright space! I wanted to show you where I create in my home.    After my kids moved out, I took over the “Great Room” space on our top floor.  It’s not quite big enough to fit all my “stuff” but it’s perfect for most things I use, it’s bright and open and it’s all mine.  I have been scrapbooking for about…

I’m getting all caught up with my Sketchy Challenges…it feels good! I love working with sketches, it takes the toughest part of scrapbooking out of the picture-the design! Once that part is dealt with the creative juices can flow. Here is our September Sketch, designed by Kelly Klapstein, that was the starting point for my page. For this layout I wanted to play with my newly purchased Nuance Pigment Powders from Magenta. It was the first time I played with them after hearing about them through Christy Riopel at our Edmonton carnival. They are FUN to say the least and I look forward to using them more and learning other applications with them. I masked off three boxes and used the Nuance powders to colour them…I really should have used a small amount of Gesso on my cardstock, but I forgot…it’s a learning process! Had I used the Gesso my…

It’s the Friday before Halloween! Are your ghouls and goblins ready? Isn’t it wonderful when Halloween falls on the weekend? Less stress and so much more fun for everyone! This week we are taking WHERE YOU CREATE to the Netherlands! I love when our international friends share with us! Let’s all THANK Margo for letting us into her creative space! “Dank u voor ons te laten in uw creatieve ruimte”! Through the magic of an online translator…I hope we got that right…I think Margo’s English is much better than my Dutch! Hi I am Margo Feijen; I live in the small village of Nederweert in the Netherlands. Five years ago I started making cards and scrapbooks. Now; five years later I have my own scraproom. The room…I painted in pink and black with a wooden floor. I now have everything clear and I get so much joy from scrapbooking. Pease see my blog  …

Hello! It’s Kim here on the blog today! Just wanted to share a Halloween themed layout with you using some of my “new” favourite products! I was recently introduced to Magenta’s Nuance powders and I think I just may be developing a crush on them! I used them on this layout to create the background. I first applied a thin layer of Gesso to my Canadian Scrapbooker Superstock. This “primes” the page making it less porous, which in turn allows for longer working time with some products! I spritzed the paper with water in the areas I want to apply colour, then tap some Nuance powders on the area and spritz with more water. Sometimes I would jiggle the page to move the colour, sometimes move it with a heat gun and sometimes dap it with paper towel to soften the colour. In other words…JUST PLAY! I layered the FabScraps’…

Here we are…October 16th! Did everyone survive the Thanksgiving long weekend? Hopefully the weekend was spent with family and friends; sharing laughs and good food! I think I have enough turkey in my system now to hold me until Christmas, which sadly will be here before we know it! Today, Roxanne Morley Anderson is sharing pictures of her wonderful storage units…she definitely has a place for everything! Hi Kim! Here are a few detail shots of my craft studio. My Pax cupboard from IKEA holds a ton of my supplies. My wood stamps are displayed in a rotating cupboard that I “snagged” from an upscale shop that closed down. I added all the shelves. It’s wonderful to be able to see all your stamps and markers! I keep all my sprays in an altered kid’s shelf. It was blue, red and yellow before I covered it with Graphic 45 steampunk…

Here we are…October! The seasons have most definitely changed. Though it saddens me that winter follows so quickly, I adore this time of year…the colours, the crispness of the air, cozy sweaters and scarves; not to mention Thanksgiving and Halloween! Embrace this awesome month and spend some time creating! This week we are in Candace Bernier’s craft room. A gorgeous space in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan! I love your magazine; every time I see it in the drugstore I grab a copy!  I hosted a wedding shower a while back and cleaned my scrapbook room from top to bottom; invariably a guest would want to see it. We built our house several years ago. I was lucky enough to be able to customize a room to suit my scrapbooking and painting needs.  My favourite part is the two big windows; which let in so much natural light. The wall unit was custom built,…
