Feeling Rusty by Kerry Engel This page looks like it should weigh about 3 pounds. But it doesn’t. Those gears – they are totally fake. What would take nature about 5 years to accomplish I created in roughly 20 minutes, with a little help from Pentart Rust Effects distributed by Bo Bunny The gears were cut using a Tim Holtz die cut from Sizzix. I covered them in Ranger black gesso and pressed the Rust Effect powder distributed by Bo Bunny into the wet gesso. Then I added the Rust Effect Reagent from Pentart distributed by Bo Bunny on top and brushed it around with an old paintbrush.Β  Once dry I covered in the Pentart Varnish. I thought that would seal in the rust shavings. The gears remain pliable and very light weight. They look very realistic and give my page some lovely texture. Β I think I’ll do this on…

Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and cheerful scrapbook page featuring Close to my Heart products. My kids and I travelled to Germany last summer with friends and had the best time. Β  And took a lot of pictures. Β Ha! Β You’ll be seeing a of them as I slowly get them scrapbooked. This layout started with the Happy thin cuts die from CTMH. I coloured the die cut with Chameleon alcohol ink markers and then added three coats of Ranger clear embossing powder to make the words glossy and dimensional. Β You can see how to do this step by step in the Creative Scrapbooker Technique Taster’s Web Show #105 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NnLYeAYb6A&t=6s It’s easy to do and looks very cool. I used patterned paper from the Close To My Heart Adventure Fundamentals line – so bright and colourful – and coordinating die cuts from the Good Life Fundamentals packet. Β Β …

Hi there! I’m Noreen and I’m thrilled to be here today as a guest blogger! Β I was introduced to scrapbooking at a Creative Memories home party waaaaaay back in 2001 and have been hooked ever since. I became a Creative Memories advisor in 2005 and have enjoyed helping lots and lots of women organize and share their photos. I also love helping people inject a little creativity into all their papercrafting projects! Today I’m happy to share a few project ideas featuring new products that were released by Creative Memories this month. Β The Mi Amor collection features Paper, Embellishments and Stickers that are perfect to celebrate all kinds of love – romantic love, love of family & friends, and even love of pets, home or favorite hobbies. I love the sophisticated designs and rich colors – cranberry, black and white. Β Of course Mi Amor is the perfect collection to create…

Hello, Connie Nichol here with a quick layout with one of my favourite photos from a trip to the Mayan Riviera a few years ago. Β Just looking at it brings back the feel of the tropical sun and the smell of the ocean. Β Sigh. I used a couple of products from Creative Memories Travel Collection to create this layout – Β the solid core cardstock (I used lime green) and the matching cool serenity travel embellishments are perfect for scrapbooking beach vacation photos while the Bubbles Border maker cartridge adds a whimsical edge . Β  Β Β Β  I spotted a Dina Wakley Bullseye stencil from Ranger Industries in my stash and used it to create the large round embellishments which in real life have very cool texture. I taped the stencil to a piece of cardstock and applied Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn distress inks with a sponge applicator. Then, with the…

Β  I plan. I set goals. I have trackers and to do lists.Β  I have many journals and agendas.Β  I’ve even dabbled in digital; however, I always go back to pen and paper. I am goal oriented and when I saw the Stampin’ Up! December 2016 My Paper Pumpkin kit, I knew that I needed to use it to get a little more organized.Β  The holidays cause me to spin in a downward spiral where I don’t know what is coming or going in every aspect of my life.Β  By the time the holidays are over I am craving routine and organization. This kit has plenty of paper, transparencies, washi tape, a rotary stamp and a Stampin’ Up! write basic black marker. So what’s My Paper Pumpkin? It’s a monthly kit created by Stampin’ Up! that comes every month to your door. It has everything you need in order to…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with Β a layout inspired by the monochromatic days of a northern Alberta winter. Β I used black and white because that’s pretty much the only colours I see right now when I look outside. Β Sigh. Β But soon the days will get longer and it won’t be long before the snow melts and the grass turns green again. Β Yes, I am an eternal optimist. I made myself a triangle template out of a scrap of paper and used it to cut the patterned paper and photos into large triangles which form the basis of the layout. The paper is the Uptown Fundamentals line from Β Close to My Heart. Β This paper (and other matching products) are a gorgeous and versatile black, white and gold colour and is available from theΒ Annual Inspirations Catalogue from CTMH. Β I used the Framework Alphabet Acrylic Stamps to stamp the title and the paper…

Hi everyone, Karen Ellis here. I recently enjoyed a fantastic weekend away scrapping with my bestie.Β  I took the opportunity to create an effortless layout based on the November Sketch with some papers I received in a goodie bag from Fancy Pants Designs. Here is the layout I created. Here is the Nov sketch I based it on. When was the last time you used our Sketchy Challenge? It’s such a great place to start the creative process. Of course we’d LOVE for you to also share to our Sketchy Gallery, to inspire others! I hope you take a minute and check out the layouts there and on Instagram (csmscrapbooker – #csmsketchygallery). Happy scrapping everyone! To See more of Karen’s work visit her blog The Art House Studio SUBSCRIBE TODAYΒ to our quarterly publication – delivered right to your door!

Kim here with a cute card share before I drop it in the mail! It’s no secret among our team that I love Heartfelt Creations Under the Sea collection! The colours, the stamps and dies speak to my love of all things ocean. Here’s a quick card I put together for my Aunt’s upcoming birthday using patterned paper and dies from the collection and some Core’dinations cardstock. So many different products were used to pull the card together, let me share them in a few detail shots. I have used Clearsnap’s Smooch and Top Boss to add colour and a bit more depth Β to the flower. Jackie showed you this technique recently in a CSMΒ Live on Facebook (Oct. 12/2016). I couldn’t’ resist adding some Ranger Stickles to the Seahorse and fish fins for some added sparkle and iridescence. And one of my favourite things to add to my projects lately…irRESISTable…

Bo Bunny- Take A Hike – with Tracy McLennon Project Recipe: Bo BunnyΒ  Take A Hike Collection patterned paper 6×6 pad buttons layered chipboard brads film sticker double dot cardstock Tombow Dual Brush 969 (Brown) Stamp Runner Adhesive Xtreme Adhesive Clearsnap ColorBox Spritzers- Pumpkin Pie, Grasshopper Chocolate ink May Arts Ribbon- Brown Mesh I LOVE working with fall colours! Who’s with me?? The warm earthy tones, that work with practically any type of photo. My layout today, focuses on one special photo. So I created a base of lots of layers of pattern and texture to showcase that special photo. Along the top border of patterned paper I added a line of coordinating decorative brads, for some additional texture. I added some simple splatters of my Clearsnap ColorBox Spritzers to the bottom left hand corner of my layered cardstock base. Do you LOVE to use ribbon on your layouts…

Christmas Advent Calendar – Guest Post with Katelyn Grosart Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Christmas is right around the corner and I thought that it would be fun to share with you this fabulous Advent Calendar kit from Southern Ridge Trading Company. Using the advent calendar kit as well as adding some other chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company and pairing them up with embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies as well as a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful vintage Advent Calendar. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I have a tutorial for you, so that you can recreate this project in the comforts of your own home. To start, you’ll need the top piece of the advent calendar, which is the piece that has the doors on it. Cover the entire surface with Victorian Velvet…
