I made an ornament. A deliciously cute ornament. The cutest part is that if you look closely, you can see a sweet Christmas tree inside. This ornament was created in the wee hours of the morning like many of my projects while I was βface-timingβ with a friend.Β Although I had the idea of making an ornament using the Stampinβ Up! Home Sweet Home die, she came up with the idea for the mini tree inside. Sheβs a genius. Note: These brush trees were bought from Target in the USA when I was visiting last month.Β How I miss Target in Canada.Β Whenever I cross the border, you can see me filling up my bags with crates, twine, wire baskets, etc.Β Let us now bow our heads to mourn the loss of Target. In order to create this ornament, much of the work is done for you as itβs a…
Christmas Advent Calendar – Guest Post with Katelyn Grosart Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Christmas is right around the corner and I thought that it would be fun to share with you this fabulous Advent Calendar kit from Southern Ridge Trading Company. Using the advent calendar kit as well as adding some other chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company and pairing them up with embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies as well as a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful vintage Advent Calendar. Youβll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I have a tutorial for you, so that you can recreate this project in the comforts of your own home. To start, youβll need the top piece of the advent calendar, which is the piece that has the doors on it. Cover the entire surface with Victorian Velvet…
Itβs that time of year. Youβve got to do your Christmas Cards. I am here to tell you: Donβt be ambitious.Β Be realistic. You need a card that is a) beautiful b) quick and c) has a wow factor. Thatβs this card. Say hello toβ¦ Well. Simply – one glittery bulb using Stampin’ Up! products. You can make these in bulk quickly. Step one: Stamp using versamark your image onto watercolour paper.Β I chose this delightful Stampinβ Up! Happy Ornament stamp set. Heat emboss using black embossing powder. I usually do this in batches of 10. Step two: Watercolour using your Stampinβ Write markers and an aqua painter.Β See last months Creative Scrapbooker Magazine post on how to do this.Β Let air dry or use a heat gun. Step Three: Itβs concoction time.Β To achieve this βglittery bulbβ look, I took a piece of transparency and poured some Crystal…
βFaux Watercolor Stamping Blissβ ideas for Christmas. Hello everyone β Cathie Allan here! One of my classes this year is a wonderful, flexible class called βFaux Watercolor Stamping Blissβ.Β To achieve the watercolor look for this project we did not even use water. Β The result was a page and a tag/card that did not warp or heave and we did not have to use a bucket of mediums to create it. Β I love using my mediums in unique ways, allowing them to multitask for me and mimic other products. The projects that we complete in the class looked like this β¦. A wonderful masculine page and great βguyβ card. Well for this blog post I took those same techniques, changed the colors, changed the stamps and stencils, changed the cut of my Super Stock and came up with some very βtimelyβ Christmas ideas.Β So for those of you who took…

Hi everyone and welcome to September! You might be a little confused because of the Santas in the pictures above. But itβs definitely September and not December. September 1st was the kick off for the latest Stampinβ Up! Holiday Catalog and I couldnβt wait to show you some products from the book. These cards stay true to my lean and clean style. The vintage style stamps are incredibly gorgeous. This one, called Father Christmas, is stunning and a must have item.
